Al-Baqarah 273: Your spending should go to the poor who have devoted themselves to the path of Allah and don’t walk on earth for an income. Because of their restraint, the ones who don’t know them will think that they are rich. You can recognize them by their faces; this is because they do not ask people (help) repetitively (and impertinently). Allah surely knows whatever you spend on the path of good.

Translation
Your spending should go to the poor who have devoted themselves to the path of Allah and don’t walk on earth for an income. Because of their restraint, the ones who don’t know them will think that they are rich. You can recognize them by their faces; this is because they do not ask people (help) repetitively (and impertinently). Allah surely knows whatever you spend on the path of good.
Tafsir
The earliest and best of your charity should be for people who are devoted to Allah, who are engaged in knowledge and wisdom, who teach people the religion, and who do not wander the earth for sustenance. Such people, in order to be useful to people, teach them the knowledge of Allah. They train students and serve the religion of Allah. Allah (swt) says about them, "Help these poor people". The poor here is not the poor as we understand it. Allah (swt) refers to the poor as miskin in this verse. Miskin means a needy person who does not own property.
The meaning of fukara (faqr) here is Fakr, people who know that all existence belongs to Allah, who draw the sword of lâ to this existence and dedicate their existence to Allah. Here I am reminded of a couplet written for the Prophet (PBUH).
El fakri fakri fakri el fakri fakri = did he not say, O Lord of the worlds.
Dhikrini dhikrini dhikrini = this heart of mine has found fakri in the fenada. We cannot pass without mentioning this a little bit. Would the Messenger of Allah, who came as a mercy to the worlds, ever be poor? The worlds were created for his sake. In one of the verses Allah says, "I found you poor and did not make you rich".
This has very deep meanings, which we will touch upon in due course. Now, the fakr here is, as we said above, a person who knows that all beings belong to Allah, who surrenders Allah's property to Allah wholeheartedly, who draws a sword of la'lā against all creatures other than Allah, who falls into nothingness, and who destroys his own existence in the essence of Allah. People who are in a state of fakr are very precious. They are like kibridi ahmer and basil on the earth.
He says, "Give charity to them because they cannot ask for anything from anyone because of their chastity and you will recognize them by their faces. Surely Allah knows every good deed you do. Allah (swt) also knows the intentions of the people which are hidden in the farthest corners of their hearts. Because when Allah (swt) made a covenant with human beings in His address Elestu bi Rabbikum, He is the One who gives their intentions to them as their destiny. In this respect, although man does not know what is in his destiny, Allah (swt) knows what all people will do.
What is said in the video
If you pay attention, for weeks now we have been telling you, with verses, always about good and kind deeds. Allah Almighty commands us to do good. Again, look what it says in verse 273. Let the good you do be for the poor who have devoted themselves to the way of Allah and for this reason do not travel the earth to earn a living.
Those who do not know think them rich because of their modesty. You know them by their faces. For they do not ask importunately. Whatever good you do, Allah surely knows it, it says.
Let us read this once more. The good you will do, it says. Who have devoted themselves to the way of Allah. Let it be for the poor who in this way do not travel the earth to earn a living. Yes. They always remember Allah, they turn to Allah. Their hearts are with Allah. And they do not ask anything of people. You know them by their faces, it says.
The first and most virtuous of good deeds.
Devoted to Allah. Occupied with knowledge and wisdom, teaching people the religion, to people who do not travel the earth for sustenance, let it be. Let it be for people who do not travel the earth for sustenance. I said good and kind deeds. Yes. Such people, to be useful to people, teach them Allah's knowledge. Don't pin this on me. I said it before. I do not expect anything from anyone. My reward is with Allah alone. My Lord has opened unknown doors for me and gives. He gives to me. Whatever I need, my Lord grants it to me. So attribute these things to those other than me. Such people, to be useful to people, teach them Allah's knowledge.
They raise students and serve Allah's religion. Allah Almighty says: help these fuqara for their sake. The fuqara here are not poor in the sense we understand. As I said, it says fakir. In His verse Allah Almighty addresses the poor as miskin. Miskin, that is, poor, in the sense of one in need who has no goods or property. The meaning of fuqara, fakir, here: people who know that all existence belongs to Allah, draw the sword of 'la' against this existence and devote their own existence to Allah, they are fakir. Here a couplet written for the Prophet (peace be upon him) comes to my mind. So, because we wrote this commentary, as I say, I explain what comes without preparing and without knowing what is in these verses.
But here too we said earlier that they come by inspiration, our Lord inspires this in our hearts. We wrote it here anyway. 'El fakri, fakri, el fakri, fakri' — did he not say? That one of the worlds, fakr. Remember his fakr, remember his fakr. This heart of mine found fakr in fana. I said we could not pass without touching on this a little. Can Allah's Beloved, who came as a mercy to the worlds, ever be poor? We said. In a verse: 'I found you poor, did I not make you rich?' it says. 'Did not make rich?' With the wealth of Hazrat Khadijah, Khadijah al-Kubra. Yes.
She is remembered as the Great Khadijah. Khadijah al-Kubra (?).
The worlds were created for his sake. In this verse Allah Almighty says: did He not find you poor and make you rich? Yes. We wrote all of it. This too is very deep. It contains meanings. We will touch on these when the time comes.
'Did You not find poor and make rich?' There are very deep meanings. One, His giving from His light. Then His giving his spirit.
Then raising him: there was nothing, there was no knowledge. Our Lord raised him. Our Lord educated him. And what does the Prophet (peace be upon him) say? 'My Lord educated me, and educated me well,' he says. Then: 'You did not expect that this Book would be given to you,' it says. This Quran, the religion of Islam: upon it, until the Day of Judgement, people, His religion's perfection, so that Habib-i Kibriya (?) Hazrat Muhammad continues it, sending down the Quran to him, giving it, illuminating with it the whole world of humanity, and finding him poor in knowledge and making him rich.
It goes to many meanings, it goes deep.
People in the state of fakir are very precious. On the earth they are like red sulphur or sweet basil. Sweet basil, red sulphur, people like precious sweet basil, yes.
So give charity to these. Because out of their modesty they cannot ask anything of anyone. And you know them by their faces, He says. How do we know such people by their faces? Their colour has turned pale. Their state is that of the wronged. Their speech is gentle. Their hearts guide others. They cannot ask anything of people. They know that the owner of all of it is Allah. 'He will give me my sustenance as long as I live.' For this reason, because he is ashamed to ask anyone but Allah, he cannot ask a human being. So, it says, give to these. So if you find someone like this and give to him, you've won the pools, the pools.
If you find someone like this and give to him.
The bird of fortune lands on your head. Yes.
Whatever good you do, Allah surely knows it. Amen.
Allah Almighty, what people need, and in the most hidden corner of people's hearts, in the most hidden corner, the concealed intentions too, He knows. 'We know the secrets of hearts,' says Allah Almighty. Because Allah Almighty gave people characters according to their wishes and desires. According to their characters, He programmed what they will do and what they will commit. For this reason our Lord knows what people need and do not know. Because Allah Almighty, when He made the covenant with people, (?) their aims to them as destiny. For this reason, although a person does not know what is within his own destiny, Allah Almighty is the one who knows what all people will do.
Yes.
