Those who believe, establish the prayer and give obligatory alms, their reward is with their Lord. There is no fear for them, and they will not be saddened.
Tafsir
Those who believe in Allah and the Last Day, and do good deeds for the sake of Allah, and establish prayer and pay the zakat, their reward is with Allah. For such people are those who know the Hereafter with certainty, who believe in Allah wholeheartedly, who do not deviate from the Verses of Allah, who reform their souls and submit to Allah. These are the friends of Allah. Allah wants people to be like this by giving them as an example. He says there is no fear for such people. In other words, by saying that there is no fear for them, He means that He gives them the good news of Paradise and that He will give them the right of intercession with the verse that says that they will not be saddened, Allah gives them the good news while they are still in the world. The Qur'an descended to the Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w.), that is, the Prophet (s.a.w.), who is (vema erselnake illa rahmeten lil alemin), and it descended to all people. Those who believe in it are the ones who are blessed with Islam. In the Qur'an, Allah says to give good news of Paradise and to frighten people with Hell. This is the glad tidings of Paradise to such people who are friends of Allah with the verse that says there is no fear.
What is said in the video
Surah Al-Baqarah, verse 277. After explaining this one too, there are some rather short verses. Those too, to you, I'll try to explain if I have time. Those who believe and do good deeds, who pray and give zakat, you know, it says, they - their reward is with their Lord. Now these - as I said a moment ago, those who fast, those who, like this, without going against Allah's commands, submit - personally, these enter the ranks of the righteous servants. There Allah Almighty personally welcomes them with a smiling face. With a smiling face. 'This man has given Allah attributes, look, he gave Him a smiling face.' Allah Almighty gave man from His spirit.
Man is the likeness of his Lord. The likeness, the likeness. For this reason Allah Almighty held man as an addressee of His essence.
To those who say Allah cannot be seen - of course He can't be seen in this world, it's the unseen world - to those who say even in the hereafter we will see Him from far away like a sun, to those who say Allah cannot be seen: on what basis do they say it? The hodjas say this too, those so-called scholars. I can't comprehend what they base it on, on which verse they say it.
Allah Almighty: when they speak in My presence at the supreme court, 'Be silent,' He will say to them, 'be silent.' It's a verse, man, a verse.
As the reward of what each has earned for his own (?), today with no one being wronged at all, everyone will be given his right fully, completely, it says. Who will give it - will someone unseen give this? It's astonishing. So what do they base it on? Well, it says Allah can't be seen - of course Allah can't be seen, it's the unseen world, this worldly realm. He won't appear before you. Why won't He appear? Why won't He appear? If He appeared and we believed, wouldn't that be better? If you had believed - at the address 'Elestü bi Rabbiküm', in that world of spirits, when our Lord, before us, said, I am your Lord, we would have believed.
Even there, because they saw Allah Almighty in the form of a human like themselves, they waited for the Lord in their own imagination.
What does Allah Almighty say? They will not be able to see their Lord.
And the poor ones say they will be gathered blind, as blind people. Some minds say: in this verse, they say, it is evidence that Allah Almighty will be seen in Paradise, they say. What is it? People's interpretations according to their own minds. Yet neither this nor that. Because Allah Almighty will be seen. At the supreme court too. At the address 'Elestü bi Rabbiküm' He says, I am your Lord, doesn't He?
When He says they will not be able to see their Lord: there is no god besides Allah for that Lord to come, for that Lord he imagined to save him. On that day judgement is Mine alone, He says. And here He supports La ilahe illallah, tawhid: that there is no god besides Allah. So they will not be able to see their Lord. Because they rebelled against Allah: My Beloved, that they denied Me - do not mind that they deny you; in their time they betrayed Me too, Me too, He says. Me too. Where? At that address 'Elestü bi Rabbiküm'. Because they saw Him in human form. We were created one-to-one. Because He gave from His spirit. What do we say?
If you take a drop from the oceans, it carries the ocean's qualities. In this case they, Allah Almighty, through their poor, small spectacles, out of the pride and arrogance of their own nafs, their haughtiness, the Lord in their own imagination they waited for. If you tell me, this is your interpretation, Hodja, here's a verse for you: Had We willed, it says, from the sky, it says, with clouds and angels We would have hung over them and made them prostrate, it says. That is the kind of Lord they waited for.
So they will not be able to see their Lord. Because there is no god besides Allah. Yes. That's why Allah Almighty says of those disbelievers: lying disbelievers. Liars. I used to say there's nothing true about them. Anyway, they were liars at the root. At the root. By denying Allah back then. Yes.
Those who believe and do good deeds, who pray and give zakat, you know, their reward is with their Lord. There is no fear for them. Nor will they grieve. These are righteous people.
People who, after nafs mutmainne, have risen to nafs radiya, that is, people of certain knowledge. Righteous ones.
There is no fear for them, because He will welcome them with a smiling face and first settle their account and put them in their places. They will not grieve, because if a spouse, a friend, a relative they know is a sinner - went as a Muslim, but a sinner - when they grieve for them, Allah Almighty will not let them grieve. He will give them the right of intercession for from seven people up to seventy people. Look. Nor will they grieve, it says. My father is going to hell. If He sends me to Paradise, wouldn't I be sad? Wouldn't I grieve? I would. So He will forgive him for your sake. If, of course, he went as a Muslim.
There is no help in any way for those who are disbelievers. On that day they have neither a helper nor a friend, it says. They are alone there, it says. Why are they alone? Allah, you see - Allah Almighty has lifted His mercy from over them. If Allah were with them, He would save them. So when His mercy too is lifted from over them, they are left all alone.
For this reason those in hell: O Malik, tell your Lord - look, they can't say 'our Lord' - tell your Lord to lighten the torment on us a little, they say.
And those there will wait for the Lord in their imagination, that He will come and save them, as if it was not Allah who created them but some official who held a grudge against them, (?), they will sense this and take revenge on him. They will take revenge on Allah, who created us. Since in those feelings their characters do not change, they are eternally of hell. The more torment they see there, the more their grudge against Allah will grow.
For this reason they will remain eternally of hell. If, in the face of that torment, their hearts had softened, had they turned to Allah - in one verse Allah Almighty says, if only they had known Me here.
Yes.
Those who believe, who believe in Allah and the Last Day, who do good deeds for Allah, who pray and give zakat - their reward is with Allah, because such people know the hereafter with certainty. What is this knowing with certainty? I know it with certainty too, Hodja. Is your faith weak? Could my faith be weak? My faith is strong too. When I say, brother, you have no spirituality - well, I have spirituality too, my faith is strong. He doesn't know what spirituality is. I have spirituality - that is, he calls that strength, the strength of faith, spirituality.
Here, knowing with certainty means: those who watch the worlds of the hereafter with the clarity of unveiling, who see the counterparts of the verses, and who know. These who know with certainty are the people of whom He says: the scholars and the angels bear witness to Allah's existence. Those who know with certainty. You said these are righteous people, didn't you. Yes. Don't you know with certainty? You haven't seen. What of it would you know? Did you see it in this world? How will you know with certainty?
But it doesn't address the Muslim. Whom does it address? The angels and the scholars. So the angels, since they were created obedient to Him within Allah's commands, know their Lord. And the scholars.
So those He calls 'alim verrasuhu', kneaded with Allah's knowledge, those who enter through the door of that knowledge, as He says. Yes.
Their reward is with Allah. Because such people know the hereafter with certainty and believe in Allah from the heart and have faith, do not step outside Allah's verses, are people who have reformed their nafs and surrendered to Allah.
These are friends of Allah. We call them the company of saints, of awliya. By giving these as an example to people, Allah wants people too to be like this. He shows them as an example. Those who give their zakat, who pray. Well, their reward, it says, is personally with Allah. When one says, well, I pray too, I give zakat too - this Arabic has no exact full-text Turkish equivalent. It can only be understood like this. So we explain what meaning these have. Otherwise those who pray, fast and give zakat will take the road to hell. Why? However much he gave, the man fasts but also devours interest, lends money at interest, he prays and also gives zakat.
Well, now what will become of this?
The good he did wasn't worth the frog it frightened.
Allah gives these as an example to people and wants people to be like this too. That is, in a hadith the Prophet (peace be upon him) says: if the worship you perform does not keep you from evil, it is a burden on you.
So these, within those acts of worship, have reformed their own nafs; refraining from their nafs-driven feelings, desires and wishes, they have submitted to Allah's commands.
Yes, these are friends of Allah. By giving these as an example to people, Allah wants people to be like this too. He says there is no fear at all for such people. That is, by saying there is no fear at all for them, He gives them the good news of Paradise; Paradise - when He says there is no fear like that, He will send him to the place of reward. With His verse saying they will not grieve, that He will give these people the right of intercession Allah gives them as good news while people are still in this world. While still in this world. The Quran, by coming down to Muhammad (peace be upon him), that is, to the Prophet (peace be upon him), came down to all people.
Those who believe in it are those honoured with Islam. In the Quran Allah says: give people the good news of Paradise and warn them with hell, He says. With His verse saying there is no fear at all, to such people who are friends of Allah, it is the good news of Paradise.
