And thus, We have sent it down as a judgment (words of wisdom) in Arabic. If they follow their desires and turn away from this knowledge after you have proclaimed this knowledge that came to you, there are no protectors and no helpers for them.
Tafsir
Arabic is the richest language on earth. All languages are derived from Arabic. The Word of Allah (swt) is based on letters. In this respect, since the word of Allah is very rich, He revealed it to the people in the Quraysh language so that the Holy Qur'an would be well understood. The Holy Qur'an is full of words of wisdom. It also contains the secrets of creation. These are sciences reserved for Allah in His knowledge. It is only useful to know this. All that is wet and dry is contained in the Holy Qur'an. (There is a Book in Us that is preserved in the Levh-i Mahfuz and no additions or omissions are made to it).
This Book is the Holy Quran. There are such secrets in the Qur'anic verses that the human mind cannot even imagine them. The Qur'anic Verses are addressed to people in such a way that every human being can understand and fulfill his duty of servitude to Allah. It is full of words of wisdom. It sheds light in front of people. It teaches them what they do not know. It invites people to guidance and salvation. He is a light and a guide in front of people.
If, after Allah (swt) has revealed the Verses of the Holy Qur'an to the people, they still follow their desires and turn away from this knowledge, i.e. the Holy Qur'an, they will have no guardian or helper.
Allah (swt) says that if you do not believe in the Qur'an, what will you believe in, even though all the miracles and wisdom are in the Qur'an, even though the human mind knows that the Qur'an is the truth, but if they turn away from the Qur'an and Allah out of pride and arrogance and turn away from the Qur'an and disbelieve, then they are following a word other than the Qur'an, and We will prepare for them the Fire as their place of return.
The human being, who appears to be irresponsible in this world, has been given his will to live his own destiny. Does man think that the evil deeds he has done in this world will go unpunished? Do those who enjoy the blessings of Allah and betray Allah and associate partners with Allah think that they will go unpunished? For them is prepared Hell, the abode of evil return.
What is said in the video
To our daughter Selim: of Surah Ar-Ra'd, we stopped at the 37th verse, "And thus We sent it down as an Arabic judgment, as a word of wisdom." What? The Holy Quran. An Arabic judgment. Why? Not English, not French, not German, not Turkish, but an Arabic judgment. The root of all languages is Arabic.
And the richest language on earth is the Arabic tongue. It is Arabic. In that case, since the word of Allah Almighty is also based on letters, on letters, based on letters, because the Arabic tongue is closest to it, Allah Almighty sent it down in Arabic. Sent it down.
There is also Hebrew, Hebrew.
This is also based on letters. It is a very difficult tongue. For this reason, in a language every person can understand, Allah Almighty says, We sent it down as an Arabic judgment, as a word of wisdom. Now, if we pay attention to the words, it does not say, We sent it down with an Arabic judgment. What does it say next to it? We sent it down as a word of wisdom. The meaning of this is this.
Let's say Allah Almighty gave man of His soul. All right. He gave of His soul. A word of wisdom. Being created in the realm of Lahut, His giving of His soul to the Prophet, creating from his soul the prophets and from their souls their peoples, unfolding meaning by meaning, a word unfolding meaning by meaning, and Allah Almighty sending His word in a way that every mind can understand. Sending it. In that case, in that case, when people cannot understand the word of Allah Almighty, when they cannot — sometimes, what does the verse say? "We never refrain from giving an example of a mosquito or something greater," it says.
That is, between the person who uses his mind least and the one who uses it most, for both of them, We never refrain from giving a comparison. From giving it. But when We give that comparison, when We give a comparison for the one at the highest level, or explain, and the lower layer cannot understand, then turn to your scholars, it says. To your scholars. So Allah Almighty has sent nothing in the Quran that we cannot understand. He has not sent it. Well, since He has not sent it — the secret of creation, here too, we cannot understand. Within our capacity, in a state in which we can do the duty of servanthood to Allah, He has limited our mind; it uses twelve percent of it at most.
Some say eighteen percent, some twenty-four, but it is not that much. It is twelve percent. Shepherds, four percent. Ordinary people in the city, eight percent. Scholars use twelve percent. Scholars. After that, there is no more. Why? Because it goes toward the secrets of creation. Well, why did He limit us? So that we would be servants to Allah, so that we would know our Lord as Creator, and expressing our need of Him, so that we would express our thanks for all the blessings He created. For that. Allah Almighty sent down the Quran as an Arabic word and a word of wisdom. Sent it down. "If, after making known this knowledge that has come to you" — that is, after You have made this Quran known to people, this knowledge — what is its knowledge?
Even if humans and jinn gathered, they could not produce the equal of a single verse. They could not. And why could they not? Allah Almighty says, Ya ayyuha'lladhina amanu. O you who believe, it says. I say it too: O you who believe. Now, between the letters I say and the arrangement side by side of those letters that Allah Almighty placed, there is a difference. Through the arrangement of these letters among each other, meaning by meaning, these verses unfold. In that case, who knows, perhaps in this coming together of those letters there is no secret of creation. Ours are words we speak by arranging (?), words.
Yes. In that case, the word of Allah Almighty is equipped with knowledge. Every single word.
"After making known this knowledge that has come to you, if they follow their whims" — that is, follow the whims of the nafs. And turn to the world. Or if they take Satan as their guide, if they turn away from this knowledge — that is, to Allah's purpose in creating you, you turn your back, eat and drink what He gave, are ungrateful, you turn your back on Allah, if you are with Allah's creatures and, from your Creator, sir, with thanks, you turn away — "they have neither a protector nor a helper," it says. What happened? Even if you did good works in the world, from the moment you go to the realm of the hereafter as a non-Muslim, from that moment, all the good works you did go to waste.
And the greatest richness on earth is Arabic. All languages are derived from Arabic. And the word of Allah Almighty is based on letters. For this reason, since Allah's word is a very rich word, so that the Holy Quran would be understood well, He sent it down to people in the tongue of the Quraysh.
The Holy Quran is full of words of wisdom. Within them there are also secrets of creation. These are in Allah's knowledge, knowledge reserved for Allah. It is only useful for us to know this as follows. Whatever there is, wet or dry, exists within the Holy Quran. With Us there is a book, (?), and it is preserved in (?). Nothing will afterwards be added to it nor taken from it, it says. This book is the Holy Quran. In the Quran's verses there are such secrets that the human mind cannot even imagine them. forget imagining it; beyond imagining and understanding, for example, what does He say to the Prophet (peace be upon him)? "I have given you the Praised Station," He says. Imagine it, let's see: the Praised Station, what is it? An eighth Paradise. Then He says, you people cannot even imagine it; that is, however much you use your mind, use it, however superior the imagination with which you beautify it, there is a beauty there above what your mind cannot understand, there. Something you cannot imagine, there is no need for me to describe at all.
Yes.
This book is the Holy Quran. In the Quran's verses there are such secrets that the human mind cannot even imagine them. Again, the Quran's verses have addressed people in such a way that it was sent in a manner every person can understand and by which they can fulfil the duty of servanthood to Allah. It is full of words of wisdom, it holds a light before people, it teaches them what they do not know, it invites people to guidance and salvation. It is a light and a guide before people. Yes.
One meaning of "it is full of words of wisdom" is also that when He says something, the origin of that thing, the origin of what He said, He Himself knows. But as much as He makes known, those to whom He makes it known know, and this is called wisdom. Another name for this is ladunni knowledge. The sultan of ladunni knowledge is the Prophet (peace be upon him). Then comes Khidr (peace be upon him). Of ladunni knowledge — Moses wants to follow him, he wants to. To receive that knowledge. Khidr (peace be upon him) making a hole in the ship, killing the boy, repairing the wall — Moses cannot understand this, for example.
He made a hole in the ship for no reason. Yet further ahead there is a king who seizes every sound ship. In that case Allah Almighty wanted these poor children's ship to stay with them, to provide their sustenance, and that the king not seize that ship. That is why Khidr (peace be upon him) said, he (?) the ship. Isn't it wise? It has a wisdom. So the meaning of this wisdom: a verse is read. A person can translate the verse very nicely according to Arabic grammar. But he cannot understand the wisdom in it. He cannot know what He meant. In that verse. He cannot know what He meant. And Allah Almighty gives this, with the verse "Whomever We give knowledge, We give wisdom," to the person He speaks of.
That is, he can grasp the meanings in that verse. For this reason, when that person explains the verses, no verse, none, contradicts another. Why does it not? Because he has been given wisdom; those wisdoms explain to the person (?). For this reason, on no verse he speaks about does anything contradict in any way.
Because what is at work is not the mind,
but inspiration. According to the verse, most people do not know inspiration. With the inspiration our Lord gives a person, with that wisdom He puts in his heart, with the ability to understand those verses, when a person explains the verses, he explains them in such a way that they never contradict each other. He explains them that way. Yes.
So Arabic is not enough. Yes.
So, Allah Almighty — it is full of words of wisdom. it holds a light before people, teaches them what they do not know, invites people to guidance and salvation. It is a light and a guide before people. Why does Allah Almighty send us the Holy Quran, His word?
He created our mind incomplete, you see; because He created our mind incomplete, we need a leader, a guide. We need these laws. For example, today people say civil law. Civil law. Next to Allah's verse it is not civil, it remains like the law of the desert. Like the law of the desert.
Can you prove it, Hodja? Of course. Allah Almighty says of us, I created man in the most beautiful form, He says. In the most beautiful form. We have made man honoured above the worlds, it says. He has also made him honoured above the worlds. That is, He created him above the angels and the angelic realm too. He has made him an addressee of His essence. In that case, where man should hold dear his manners and propriety, his chastity, his dignity, his honour and his goodness, he gets up and turns his back on these and
with non-Muslims, who sleep with one another outside the concept of family, with those who, before the Prophet honoured the world, buried girls alive in the earth, with those who make their mother, their sister dance at drinking tables and roll them up like rags, and with those who, saying the eye's pleasure is spoiled, strip people stark naked and satisfy their lustful feelings with them — if this is not the law of the desert, what is it? Are these acts befitting a human being, worthy of manners and propriety, of honour and dignity, of glory? These acts? Perhaps even beyond the law of the desert.
Why even beyond the law of the desert? Let me tell you a verse. They are like four-legged animals roaming the earth, it says. (?) are astray, it says. Yes. Today there are non-Muslim people engaging in acts more perverse than animals. There are. Yes.
In that case, in that case, whoever seeks glory and honour — glory and honour are with Allah, it says. Allah Almighty, in His verse. So, since man's mind was created incomplete, so that man can preserve his honoured place as a human being, he needs the laws Allah has sent to man, and laws that can protect that honour and dignity given by his creation as honoured above the worlds. And only Allah can provide this to man. With what? In the sharia ruling.
With its deterrent laws, deterrent: for two people committing adultery, two married people committing adultery, it had stoning prescribed. In that case, never mind two married people committing adultery, lesbians, homosexuals, those who marry their own sex, may Allah protect us. And those who call these civil law, which civilisation are they talking about, I wonder?
Civilisation is not immorality. The civilisation I know is not with dishonour and indignity. The civilisation I know is rising in technology and in the level of social life, and being equipped in the best way with knowledge, keeping oneself up with the age in the best way, and within the age, living in that age in a modern way, with the chastity and glory by which man can protect his honour and dignity. That is it. That is civilisation. Yes. Otherwise it is not stripping people stark naked and instilling an ignorant civilisation. So Allah sends His sharia ruling to people so that man may protect his honour and dignity.
Whoever goes outside of this, because he has opened Allah's boundaries,
on the Day of Judgment, just as his punishment is left to Allah, in this world too he is in a tight spot. And Allah does not spare them calamities on their heads. What does it say? We give them three or two calamities a year, it says. The southern parts of America again? And, sir, with tornadoes, with floods, it is in turmoil. In turmoil. Yes.
What does Allah Almighty say now? After making the verses of the Holy Quran known to people, if people still follow their whims and turn away from this knowledge, that is, from the Holy Quran, if they turn away, these have neither a protector nor a helper. Those who deliberately deny a verse of the Quran, who do not recognise the Prophet (peace be upon him) as a prophet, those who associate partners with Allah, are non-Muslims. And a Muslim is one who professes with his tongue and affirms with his heart the shahada. A Muslim. In that case, pay attention, look. I am not saying a Muslim is one who recites the shahada.
Pay attention here. One who professes with his tongue and affirms with his heart. The hypocrite also recites the shahada. The hypocrite. One must pay great attention to words. Sir, in that case, if these people believe in a word other than the Quran, they will have associated partners with Allah. In the sight of Allah Almighty, inna'd-dina 'inda'llahi'l-Islam. There is no religion other than the religion of Islam. Whoever seeks a religion other than Islam, it says, that religion will never benefit him. In that case, even if a person has done all good works in the world, as long as he goes (?), he had neither a protector nor a helper.
All the good works he did have gone to waste too.
By Allah Almighty saying, if you do not believe in the Quran, what then will you believe in, although all miracles and wisdoms are in the Quran, although the human mind knows the Holy Quran is the truth, if out of pride and arrogance they turn their faces from the Quran and from Allah and turn to denial, they will have followed a word other than the Quran, and We prepare their place of return as the Fire — so declares Allah Almighty. Yes. What does it say? Surah Al-A'raf, verse 24 — I mean, Surah Al-Baqarah, verse 24: in that verse it says, do not go toward the Fire prepared for the disbelievers.
Yes.
So that man, who seems unaccountable in the life of the world, can live his own destiny, partial free will has been placed in his hand. Does man think that alongside, alongside the evils he did in the life of the world, he will come out ahead? Does he think so? Those who benefit from the blessings Allah gave and betray Allah, those who associate partners with Allah — did they think they would remain unpunished? So Hell, an evil abode of return, has been prepared for them. It has been prepared. Yes.
