Tafsir
Elif, Lam, Ra. These are the Muqaddah Verses. At the beginning of some Surahs we will come across such Muqadda Verse. We have explained in the previous Tafsir that the Qur'anic Verses are not exegeted and their meanings are not given. Therefore, we are skipping these Verses. For information on why they are not given a meaning, one may refer to the seventh verse of Surah Al-Imrân.
The Holy Qur'an is a Book which Allah has sent to the worlds with our Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) to bring people out of darkness into the light, that is, into the way of Allah, the Almighty (and) the Praiseworthy.) Humans are incomplete and erroneous because Allah created them mentally deficient. He has sent the Holy Qur'an to enlighten their path. Allah (swt) created our souls in the realm of Lahut and after making a covenant with them, He lifted them to the realm of Berzah. The soul whose time has come is sent to the realm of property so that it can take on the guise of a body, and when our soul comes to the realm of property, it takes on the guise of a body from the realms of Jabarut, Melekut, and Melekut, that is, more clearly, those realms are closed, like the unwanted parts of a computer are closed with a password, and it takes on the guise of a body by being sent to the mother's womb in the realm of property. (When We said to him, "Enter by Our command," he increased his interest in the world and forgot his Lord. My Messenger, remind him of his days with your Lord). This is the coming of the souls into the world, unaware of anything. Because our souls are born as children, as they grow up, they need learning. Because all the events of the hereafter are closed to our souls coming to the realm of property. In the realm of this world, which is a realm of the unseen, people have come to play out the covenant they made with Allah (swt). It is because Allah is very merciful to His creatures, because He treats people with His mercy in the realm of property, that He sends them Prophets, Books and scholars. Through them, He makes His Divine Essence known to people.
The Holy Qur'an, by coming to the last Prophet, Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH), is the coming of the Holy Qur'an to the whole human world. Because Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) is (vemaerselnake illa rahmeten lil alemin). In this respect, he is the elder and leader of all humanity. At the same time, all creatures are created from the light of the Prophet (PBUH). The Holy Qur'an is a Book that has come to bring people out of darkness into the light with the Holy Qur'an and the Prophet (PBUH), who was sent as a mercy to humanity with the verse that says (I would not have created these worlds if it were not for you). Praise and worship are reserved for Allah. People seek their Lord because they know that they are created. Allah sends Prophets and Books so that people do not worship other things. Allah (swt) does not hold anyone to account for what He has not announced. Therefore, since Allah (swt) has no other deity besides Himself, He does not leave a single human being to whom He does not make His Verses known. In this respect, even if you go to the poles, the remotest corners of the world, the people there are certainly aware of Islam. Allah sent the Holy Qur'an so that people would not commit atrocities against their souls by worshipping idols. Because Allah is the Almighty, all-powerful and worthy of praise. There is no god but Him.
What is said in the video
Elif, Lam, Ra: these are muqatta'a verses. At the beginning of some surahs we will come across such muqatta'a verses. In earlier commentaries we explained that the muqatta'a verses are not interpreted, that no meaning is given to them. Where? The seventh verse of Surah Al Imran: let me remind you of it here once. It will be even better if we read it from here, from the book. The seventh verse of Surah Al Imran. What does it say here? That Allah who sent down the Book to the unlettered Messenger sent the Book down as muhkam, without subjecting it to any change. Yes, I draw your attention to this word.
I also draw the attention of those listening to me online. I read this sentence once more. That Allah who sent down the Book to the unlettered Messenger: it is He who sent the Book down as muhkam, without any change. So where do these people hide this verse, that they say there is abrogation in the Quran?
It has no change (?) at all. Anyway, in the hadiths too, called hadith, Allah forbid, not hadith but in fabricated writings, they say this was abrogated by that, that was abrogated by this. We put the verses side by side. According to what they say in those writings. Now I ask, for Allah's sake: are the words these people say what these verses mean? Because they do not understand the verses, they say this verse was abrogated by that, that verse by this, they say. In the Quran, maybe more than 10 or 20 times, this was abrogated by that, that by this, they have written fabricated texts like that.
In that case they have turned the Holy Quran into a soup. So Allah did not know, and according to people's situation He cancels that verse and sends the other. Anyway, these people's aim is to make the verses address the past, to remove their validity in our time, and to fit the religion of Islam to their own invented religions, those superstitions of theirs, or else to establish a dominion over it. But what does Allah Almighty say? The truth has come and falsehood has vanished. And we strike them on the head like this.
We continue with the verse.
Some of it, verses that as the foundations of the Quran
are clear and definite, it says. Some verses. That is, verses with which Allah Almighty lights our way, in a form we can understand. They are His Sharia rulings. Yes.
And some verses are mutashabih. That is, they are the muqatta'a verses. Those with doubts in their hearts, to stir up discord, give meanings by their own reckoning and follow the interpretation of the mutashabih verses. For example, someone says Elif Lâm Mîm means this, for example. These are the ones with sickness in their hearts; they follow the interpretation of these muqatta'a verses. Yet the interpretation of the mutashabih, of the mutashabih, only Allah knows, it says. So if it says only Allah knows, then no one can know the meanings of these verses. Those steeped in Our knowledge, however, say: We believe in it; the clear and the hidden, all verses are from our Lord.
Who is this? People steeped in Allah's knowledge; people steeped in Our knowledge, it says. Those who have reached nafs radiya, who have entered through the door of ilm al-yaqin, people raised by Allah Almighty Himself. Are there such people, Hodja? If not, Allah would have committed an injustice. You sent prophets to those before; after this, no more prophets. 1400 years have passed since then; so what will happen? So, for His religion to keep its rule until the Day of Judgment, Allah will raise scholars. As heirs of the Prophet, to people as guides He will send them. A guide. Mind you. Those who look for a calf under the ox will say: Are you a prophet?
That's what they say. Allah forbid. Prophethood has ended. He raises people who correspond to the following verse. The passing of your scholars to the Hereafter is like the sun going and darkness coming, it says. Yes. So our Lord does not leave these worlds empty. He raises such scholars and has them convey the truth to people. He has them strike like a sledgehammer on the heads of those who try to throw falsehood over the truth, and according to the verse "The truth has come and falsehood has vanished", they are wiped away. Yes, so those with (?) in their hearts, in order to stir up discord, its interpretation they follow. The Holy Quran is, by Allah's leave, for you to bring people out of darkness into light, that is, onto the way of Allah, who prevails over all and is worthy of praise, that He sent through the Prophet Muhammad to the worlds as a Book. Is my own reason not enough?
Allah sends the Quran. If I cannot manage myself, why does He send the Quran? Pay attention! Observe those who turn their backs on the Quran. Look at the lives of non-Muslims. There is no honor, no dignity, no esteem. No notion of family. They carry on with one another. They, it says, are like four-legged beasts roaming the earth. Yet man was created honored above the worlds. Glory and honor are with Allah, it says. So for this human, created honored above the worlds, to attain glory and honor, following the verses of the Quran is an obligation for him. A person who follows the Quran is an upright person.
A person who walks on the straight path. In this person there is no lie. In this person there is no thought that would stir discord among people. These people... in this person there is no gossip, no, let me say, hostility toward one another, no plotting of traps in their hearts. According to the verse of the Quran, these people, to win Allah's pleasure, struggle with their nafs, bring their nafs to perfection, and in the quality of being brothers in Islam are of one mind with one another, showing love and respect, giving way to one another, that is, acting humbly, embracing one another with bonds of love, wanting to win Allah's mercy; these people, of course, in keeping with Allah Almighty's purpose of creation, He will keep under His mercy, and for the people who attain these deeds in the light of the verses of the Quran, Allah will have lit their ways in this way.
And they will have gone to the realm of the Hereafter on a straight path. Yes. Now if a person's honor and dignity, chastity and virtue were to vanish, this person's human quality has, in my view, vanished. They have fallen into the state of four-legged beasts roaming the earth. Of course, those who consent to this. Those who see this as normal. See it as normal.
So that man can protect his chastity, Allah Almighty has set the heaviest punishment.
When two married people commit adultery, He has stoning applied. He commands their execution. In this way He protects the honor and dignity of the value He has given to man. But people who know nothing of honor and dignity, of chastity, of virtue, in order to quench their lustful desires, step outside Allah's verses, set themselves against Allah, as if competing with animals, even acting more basely than them, pushing Allah's limits, and (?) to suffer several calamities a year. For the sake of the Prophet (peace be upon him), total destruction has been lifted. And these people receive these calamities.
Yes. They are human in the things they do. By some of their deeds they are baser than animals, it says. Because Allah Almighty has instilled its duty into the animal. As a result of that duty, it (?) its work.
Since Allah created people deficient in reason, people are deficient and fallible. He sent the Holy Quran to light people's ways. Allah Almighty created our souls in the realm of lahut. After making a covenant with them, He raised them to the realm of barzakh. The soul whose time has come is sent to the realm of mulk so that it can put on the garment of a body, and as our soul comes to the realm of mulk, from the realms of jabarut and malakut it puts on a garment from each; that is, more plainly, those realms, the way unwanted parts on a computer are encrypted, are closed off, and by being sent into the mother's womb in the realm of mulk, it has put on the garment of a body.
Yes.
When We told it by Our command: Enter. Its interest in the world grew, it forgot its Lord. My beloved, remind it of the days spent with its Lord. This is the souls coming into the world unaware of anything.
Since our souls are born as a child, with its growth it needs learning. Because all the events in the realm of the Hereafter, for our souls coming to the realm of mulk, have been closed off to our souls. Closed off to our souls too. In the world, a (?) realm, people, to (?) the covenant they gave Allah Almighty, have come. That is, it is this.
Allah Almighty created our souls in the realm of lahut.
In the seventh verse of Surah Al-Waqi'ah: (?) classes. Ve eshab-ı meymeneti ma eshab-ı meymeni: O people of the right, good tidings to you. Ve eshab-ı meş'emeti ma eshab-ı meş'emeti: But O people of the left, woe to you, it says.
A third group, the group of the foremost, the sabıkın, it says. These were created in the realm of lahut. When He said "I am your Lord", they split into three groups. Each on the side of its own kind. Then Allah Almighty made a covenant with them one by one. One by one. Each one's wish and desire, his will, was written for him as destiny. Then it was raised to the barzakh. The soul raised to the realm of barzakh, although it chose itself the time it would come into the world, when that time comes, Allah Almighty takes that soul from the realm of jabarut, takes it from the realm of barzakh to the realm of jabarut.
That is, to the realm of nearness. This place called the realm of nearness is where it sees Allah Almighty Himself, finds Him, meets Him. That is why jabarut is called the realm of nearness. From there it is sent to the realm of malakut. In that realm of jabarut He puts a garment on it. This garment: Allah Almighty there programs it, locks its mind there. It couldn't see. That is, the program is in the memory, it is in the memory. But it is programmed. That part is closed. Where does it come? To the realm of malakut. When it comes to the realm of malakut, it is called the spiritual soul, ruhani ruh.
The spiritual soul. There, too, it puts on a garment. That is, there too it is closed to it. But it is in the person's memory. Then it comes to the realm of mulk. It takes on the form of the bodily soul. Will He give a person a girl or a boy? With this girl or with a boy, these people, better with one another, with a frame of mind that will prove one another, what kind of people they are, they will prove. Allah knows this. Accordingly, whether a boy or a girl is taken from the realm of jabarut is left to Allah's decree. No one can know this except Allah. Whether the children He will give those people will be girls or boys, and how these people will prove themselves to each other in the best way, according to the covenants they made, my Lord knows this.
Accordingly He gives either a girl or a boy. This only Allah knows. What is in the wombs, that is, whether this soul taken from the jabarut, barzakh realm is a girl or a boy? Its being taken from there only Allah knows. So the soul Allah Almighty took from that realm of barzakh, to what we call the realm of jabarut, the realm of nearness. That is, the realm where Allah Almighty Himself takes it and sees it.
There He wraps it in a garment. That is, what is meant by garment: I have this text on my computer. I put a password on it. No one other than He, other than Allah, can open it. The person knows this, between Allah and himself. It is knowledge, but in the person it is made forgotten. He sends it to the realm of malakut. Before He sends it to the realm of malakut, the soul in this realm of nearness is called the sovereign soul, sultani ruh. The sovereign soul. When He sends it to the realm of malakut, He makes it forget that place too. He wraps it in a garment. Its state there is called the spiritual soul.
When He sends it from there to the realm of mulk, He wraps it in a body. We call this the bodily soul. Some also call it the animal soul. We leave the animal soul aside. The most correct is the bodily soul. The bodily soul has put on a body. You could also say animal soul. Because Allah Almighty says they are like four-legged beasts roaming the earth. The people of the left, those who go to the Hereafter as disbelievers: as people of eternal Hell He sees them, so He separates them from His essence, keeps them apart from His mercy; so you could also say animal soul. But in general we say bodily soul.
Yes.
So can a person, these forgotten events, by living in the world again, see them? He can, by Allah. No, no, how will he see them? We said that according to the verse of Allah Almighty, "aduvvallahi ve aduvvekum", a person has three friends and three enemies. The friends: reason, faith, and an inspiration Allah gives a person. Hodja, does everyone have it? Allah Almighty says in His verse: Most people do not know inspiration, it says. That's the verse. So inspiration is, through the communication Allah has given to a person's heart, the explanation of what the verses correspond to. Yes. I draw your attention to this.
I always say it: the half-witted, those unaware of the verses, who out of a desire to lead keep themselves at the head of a certain group, with this word "inspiration" of mine, end up looking for a calf under the ox; they bring out their own verses, they make people say this man is giving revelation to people. Revelation and inspiration (?) people. Revelation comes to the prophet. It is verses. Verses. Inspiration comes to a person's heart. It is the meanings of the verses. What they correspond to. Their explanations.
The difference between inspiration and revelation. Yes.
So if a person struggles with his nafs and takes his place beside Allah's friends, he becomes aware of the divine manifestations. His nafs rises to the state of mutmainna. In verses 27, 28, 29, 30 (?) of Surah Al-Fajr, Allah Almighty says: O nafs that has become content, your Lord pleased with you and you pleased with your Lord, enter among My servants, enter My Paradise; they rise to the state of those people.
Do the verses come for nothing? Do the verses have no counterpart? If the situations corresponding to the verses did not exist, why would Allah Almighty send those verses? So there are scholars that Allah Almighty raises.
These are the ones who reach nafs radiya, who enter through the door of ilm al-yaqin. Those steeped in Allah's knowledge. In the 7th verse of Surah Al Imran, again, the people steeped in Allah's knowledge. Yes, what does it say? "Those steeped in Our knowledge", it says. Who will steep him in Our knowledge? He has no teacher in the world. Steeped in Our knowledge. And he will be steeped in Allah's knowledge. Who will do this? To the person who struggles with his nafs and rises to those stations, Allah Almighty will show what the verses correspond to. And he will be the person the following verse speaks of.
To whom We give knowledge, We give wisdom, it says. They perceive with wisdom what meaning the verses have. Yes. What does it say? "Those steeped in Our knowledge say: We believe in it. The clear and the hidden, all verses are from our Lord." Only those who use their reason and enter through the door of that knowledge know these. Yes.
These events: Allah Almighty, to (?) the covenant given, a (?) realm, the world; in it people, to (?) the covenant they gave Allah Almighty, have come. So, since Allah is very merciful to His creation, in the realm of mulk He treats people with His mercy, and so He sends them prophets, books and scholars. Scholars. Through them He makes His divine essence known to people. Yes.
Now so many people out there talk about Allah.
Believe me, I don't say all of them, but, but among them you would hardly find, let's say in the world, in the world, apart from a few, the others are ruled by 60 to 70% superstitions. Why do I say this 60 to 70% rate? What's the reason? Allah Almighty, when He raises a scholar and sends him, sends him so that the superstitions that have entered the religion are removed from it. Once every two hundred years. He sends him to remove the superstitions that have entered the religion. And once every hundred years the Qutb al-Azam explains the verses of the religion according to technology.
Now, in 200 years Islam goes through 5 eras. 5 eras. Each corresponds to 40 years. 1. The entry of falsehood. 2. The weeding out of falsehood. 3. The rise of Islam. 4. Islam remaining at its peak. Five: the decline of Islam. Gentlemen, we are living in the second era. We are living in the serious era of falsehood.
People know neither the hadiths nor the verses of the Quran.
With superstitions they have turned the Quran's verses into people's fabrications. They have ascribed attributes to Allah. Here you go. More than five hundred and four. More than five hundred and four. With words ascribing attributes to Allah they have slandered Allah. One: Surah Al-A'raf, verse 172. They have covered up the covenant.
Whoever goes into it, they declared a Qadari. If you explain from there, they declare you deviant in religion, a Mu'tazili, that's what they declare. So that you cannot find the truth.
Two: they removed partial free will, irade-i cüz'iye, from man.
They have tied all deeds to Allah. In that case, since Allah makes people do this, why does He ask us about reward and sin? Fe men ya'mel miskâle zerratin hayran yerah. I will record an atom's weight of good, He says. Ve men ya'mel miskâle zerratin şerran yerah. And an atom's weight of evil I will record too, He says. So if He removed my will and used His own will over me, what does He want from me? Second: these are their superstitions. Third: Allah does not guide the disbelieving people. Yet among the disbelieving people there are also those who will be guided. Those who continue on that path cannot attain Allah's guidance.
Otherwise there is no such thing as "He does not guide". A person attains Allah Almighty's guidance or fails to by his own being. In verse 179 of Surah Al-A'raf: Bismillahirrahmanirrahim, ve lekad zere'nâ li cehenneme kesîran mine'l-cinni ve'l-ins. We created many of humans and jinn for Hell, it says. Can Allah be so unjust?
Yet Hell was created for many of the people. Humans and (?) were not created for Hell, the jinn. What kind of understanding is this? What kind of Quranic knowledge? What kind of commentary, what kind of translation is this?
We go to the responsible persons.
I won't give the names of the responsible persons. If they are listening to me, they know who they are. There are witnesses here. We tell him the verse was interpreted wrongly. No, sir, he says, according to the Arabic words the verse means this, he says. Allah increases the disbelief in a person's heart, he says. He takes it and immediately starts reading the translation. Allah slaps him so hard. Do you know what it says at the end when he reads it? Allah does not increase anyone's disbelief; he increases his own disbelief. The man strikes his hand on his head.
Had you given the original text, he says, I would hold it in honor, he says. Only this way does he swallow his words.
Yes, what good comes from you to people?
People who occupy a certain position. Yes.
So,
if a person reforms his nafs and rises in Allah's sight, he becomes aware of Allah's knowledge, and he will have a light by which he can tell good from evil.
Is there a verse for what you say, Hodja? I don't speak without verses. Let's open the verse now.
Yes. Surah An-Nur, verse 35. Pay attention. They interpreted it wrongly, and we've put the correct one here. Here the red ones are wrong, the red ones are wrong, and the green ones are correct. Let me read the correct one now. We have no time. We have no time. Let's read the correct one. Allah is the light of the heavens and the earth, it says. Now these people write: The sun comes, you know, and lights up the surroundings. Yet when it says Allah is the light of the heavens and the earth, His creating the universe firmly with His knowledge and making it move around one another is Allah's power of knowledge.
The likeness of His light is like a lamp-niche with a lamp in it, it says. The likeness of His light, that is. Of the one We gave knowledge, it says, the light of the one We gave knowledge is like a light that (?) a lamp inside, it says. Now it describes this lamp.
That lamp is in a (?) glass casing. And that glass is like a pearl-like star, upon which the shadow of neither east nor west falls. What does this mean? On the heart of the person in whose heart We place Our light, his heart, his heart, let's say his knowledge, on his knowledge falls neither the shadow of the zahir, the outward, nor the shadow of the batil, the false, it says. Where did you get zahir and batil from, Hodja? Neither the shadow of the heart; the sun rises from the heart. It likens the rising of the sun to outward knowledge. (?) The sun rises in the East and sets in the West. And it likens its setting to the batil.
So, it says, the knowledge of the people in whose hearts We place Our light, on that knowledge, that knowledge of truth, neither the shadow of the zahir nor the shadow of the batil falls, it says. Yes.
As if lit from oil that comes from the olive; its oil almost, even if no fire touched it, (?) light. This is light upon light, it says. What is this? To whom We have given knowledge, We (?) wisdom. So, light upon light. Both knowledge and wisdom.
Those who cannot attain these cannot possibly open up this Quran.
Whoever cannot complete this journey is not versed in the knowledge of this Quran. They only read it like this, from the surface. But at least my request to them is that they not slander Allah. Let them not blame Allah. If they see the truth, let them call us, but they are running away now. Let them call us, and we'll explain the truth to them. Yes.
What do we say about people? Because He treats them with His mercy, He sends them prophets, books and scholars. Through them He makes His divine essence known to people. Through these people.
Who makes Allah known? Can you show me His Messenger? If he says three true things, he puts in five fabrications.
If he says seven true things, he puts in three fabrications. Is this making Allah known?
So the Holy Quran, by coming to the last prophet, the Seal of the Prophets, the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), has come to all of humanity. As some superstitions say, the Quran came to Muslims.
What will the non-Muslim say? He will say: You didn't send it to me, so what do you want from me?
And after that he will say this. You said in the Quran, he will say: We do not call anyone to account for what We have not made known. Well, if you had sent me the Quran, made it known, I too would have obeyed you, he will say. This is how they will ascribe attributes to Allah Almighty. Can you see the nonsense? Yes.
Because the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) is ve mâ erselnâke illâ rahmeten li'l-âlemîn. For this reason he is the greatest and the leader of all humanity.
At the same time, all created beings were created from the Prophet's (peace be upon him) light.
With the verse in which He says, had it not been for you I would not have created these worlds, together with the Prophet sent to people as a mercy (peace be upon him), the Holy Quran too came to bring people out of darkness into light, as a Book. Praise, glorification and worship belong to Allah alone. Since people know that they were created, they seek their Lord. So that people do not worship other things, Allah sends prophets and books. Allah Almighty calls no one to account for what He has not made known. So, since there is no other god besides the essence of Allah Almighty, of His verses He leaves not a single person uninformed.
For this reason, the remotest corner of the world, the poles at the corners, even if you go to the poles, surely the people there too have heard of Islam.
So that people do not wrong themselves by worshipping idols, Allah sent the Holy Quran. Because it is Allah who prevails over all, has absolute power and is worthy of praise. There is no god but Him. Yes.
