Translation

And when Moses said to his people; “Remember Allah’s blessings upon you because Allah saved you from the family of Pharaoh who were driving you to the worst torture, slaying your sons and leaving your women (daughters). In this, there is a great test from your Lord.”

Tafsir

Hadrat Musa 'alaihis-salâm'. Addressing his people. Remember the favor of Allah upon you. Pharaoh tortured you with the worst of tortures, killing your male children and letting your female children go free. You were also given the worst and the heaviest work in Egypt, so you were oppressed.

So remember the favor of Allah upon you. Allah saved you from the family of Pharaoh. He brought you out of oppression and torture into prosperity and out of darkness into light. There are great tests in these events and in reminding you of your past. Allah does not intend that people should suffer oppression and torture. All creatures are servants of Allah. But Allah wants people to be free from oppression and torture. When people are saved, they return to their former state of deviation and forget Allah. Allah (swt) gives calamities to such people, and the torment of the Hereafter will be upon such people.

Allah (swt) tests people in scarcity and abundance. Allah, who knows what every human being will do, bestows calamities or abundance on them to keep them as witnesses to themselves and the world around them. When people indulge in this abundance and turn to evil deeds, they are buying torment with their own hands. Allah (swt) says (what you earn is the reward of your two hands). In this case, all souls will find their recompense in full for what they have done. Neither more nor less. Except for those who compete in good deeds. Allah will bestow upon them favors and treats from His Essence. It will increase the rewards they receive in return for their good deeds and raise their rank.

What is said in the video

Surah Ibrahim, verse 6 — we have come to it. Remember when Moses said to his people: Allah's blessing upon you — remember it. For He, from those subjecting you to the worst of torment and slaughtering your sons and sparing your women and daughters — from Pharaoh's family — saved you.

Indeed, in what is told to you there is a great trial from your Lord.

So every person came to this world for a test, for a test. So, Hodja, Allah Almighty knew anyway what kind of people we were, according to the covenant we gave. Why did He send us — there, in paradise and hell (?) — to the worldly realm, which is (?) cruelty? So it is: this is a world where man suffers cruelty, is moved, or rejoices. In the end, again, just as Allah Almighty first created them, all of them, as a program, will go to hell again, and those in paradise to paradise. Why did He create this world?

Allah Almighty is free from deficient attributes.

What do we say? Free from deficient attributes.

In that address, Elestü bi-Rabbiküm,

when He said, I am your Lord, our spirits there, that is, we, were divided into three classes. Three classes. Those of the right, those of the left, and the class of those brought near. There, the part that denied Allah and the part that knew Him. Now, if Allah Almighty had directly said: come on, since you have denied Me, off to hell; and you, you denied Me — er, you knew Me — off to paradise — had Allah Almighty said this, He would have been given an attribute. How would He have been given an attribute here? He said — He gave us of a (?).

Just like His Self, standing before us like a person, He says to us: I am your Lord, I created you. How do we know? How do we know? So that you won't say: if You had sent me to a hidden world, a world where Your Self is not seen, look how I would have worshipped You — that is why He created these worlds. Everyone will prove themselves here, in a world where they don't see their Lord. Yes.

Now, in Surah Ta-Ha, verse 134, look what it says.

If only You had sent us a messenger, it says. If We had destroyed them with a punishment before this, before the Quran, it says.

If We had destroyed them before this, that is, before the Quran, with a punishment, surely they would have said: Our Lord, if only You had sent us a messenger, so that (?) and they would have said: Our Lord, if only You had sent us a messenger, so that this humiliation and Here too, here too: O Allah, You created us like Your Self; if You had sent us to Your hidden world, sent us messengers, made Your Self known to us, we would not have fallen short in worshipping You — so that they cannot say this, Allah, free from deficient attributes, created these worlds. And He brought us and placed us in the world.

Now, the arena is open.

Everyone will prove themselves. Everyone. And in this transient world, after a transient provision, in the hereafter, which is the original homeland, in return for what he did in the world, in proportion to his own characteristics, having proved himself, when he moves on to the hereafter — so this is what you were — it will have him told. Did you think you would die without proving what kind of people you are, according to the verse? Man will prove himself, and when he goes to the hereafter: so this is what you were; I sent you to a hidden world too, but still, as long as you have these characteristics, this mindset, this is what you are; beyond this you cannot go, He will say.

He will say. Send me once more. See how we will worship You. They will say. If We sent you back not once but several more times, you would again do the same thing, He says. Why is that? If I recorded on video my speaking here with my characteristics, and this were my life, whichever device you put this videotape in, you would see it the same way, second by second. You would see the same talk. So if I went through not once but several more times, I would do the same things again. I would have the same conversations. Because that is what the characteristics are like. Or I would do the same evil. The characteristics are like that.

And in a verse Allah Almighty says: If only they had known Me here. They distorted this too — if only they had known beforehand — as if Allah didn't know whether they would know beforehand; whereas look what it says: if only they had known Me here — not before, if only they had known, known Me, He says. That is, as long as you have those characteristics, it's impossible for you to know Me, He says. Since, according to your wishes and desires, within your own will, We gave you these characteristics, so as to wrong none of Our creatures (?). Without taking their free thought away from them, the people who by their own will had characteristics given to them — We left them to themselves, We no longer interfere, He says.

So man does not know what kind of covenant, for this world, in the realm of the hereafter, he gave. Because he doesn't know, a hidden world — in a hidden world, as I said before, life too is a treasure for us; within this life of ours, both our worldly and otherworldly duties we must fulfill. If you turn only to the worldly, you will lose out. If you turn only to the otherworldly, you'll lose your world, you'll lose your responsibility. You will have disregarded your family's rights and due. So it is both worldly and otherworldly. Allah Almighty could have created us not worldly. If He had made me free of eating and drinking, and had made our children free of eating and drinking, nobody would work.

What would I work for, what would I do? If He had sent you like the angels, (?) food, sexless, or as some being, what would you do? You would wander about there, stay, pass and go. So, binding us with responsibility and making our existence in the world depend on eating and drinking, through our trading, our dialogues with people, the actual deeds we do and the characteristics we display, He gives us reward and sin. Yes.

Yes, so remember Allah's blessing upon you. Allah saved you from Pharaoh's family. He brought you out of oppression and torture to salvation, out of darkness into light. So in these events, and in reminding you of your past, there are great trials. Allah does not wish people to suffer oppression and torture. All created beings are Allah's servants. But Allah wants people to be freed from oppression and torture. When people reach salvation, they return to their old misguidance and forget Allah. Just as Allah Almighty gives such peoples calamities, the punishment of the hereafter too comes upon such people.

Allah Almighty tests people in hardship and in plenty. Allah, who knows what every person will do, in order to make people witnesses to themselves and to those around them, bestows calamities and plenty on them. People grow spoiled in this plenty; when they turn to evil, people with their own hands have bought the punishment. Allah Almighty declares: What you have earned is the return for your own two hands. So all souls, without any shortfall, the recompense of what they did will find. Neither more nor less. But those who compete in goodness are an exception. Allah will bestow grace and favor on them from His own Self.

By increasing the rewards they receive for their good deeds, He will raise their ranks.
