Translation

Moses said; “Even if you and everyone on earth would be ungrateful, know that Allah is truly Ghaniyy (Bounteous) and Hameed (Worthy of being praised).”

Tafsir

Hadrat Musa 'alaihis-salâm' addressed his people and said: "O my people! If you and all those who are on the earth are ungrateful, if you eat the blessings of Allah and do not give thanks to Allah, if you associate partners with Allah and ask from them, while no creation has any right over what Allah has created, you cannot harm Allah. Know that Allah is very rich. He is the Creator and Creator out of nothing. The created are in need of Allah.

In this case, praise and adoration are for Allah. Because Allah knows the needs of His creatures. He fulfills their needs within the lifespan He has given them. He protects them from all kinds of evil. Allah does not need anything. Since all creatures were created in need of Allah, it is Allah who is worthy of praise, praise and worship.

What is said in the video

We have come to verse 8 of Surah Ibrahim. Moses said: if you and all who are on earth were ungrateful, know that Allah is truly rich, worthy of praise.

to his people: O my people, if you eat and drink the blessings Allah has given and don't give thanks to Allah,

even if all these created people were ungrateful, Allah Almighty has no need of your worship. These acts of worship, He says, are for you; He has no need of property and possessions either. Because He is the Creator, the Self-sufficient, the Rich, He says.

Allah Almighty says something similar at the end of that surah, like this.

Well, let's pause. It must be the end of Surah At-Tawbah.

what does it say? Verse 128. Indeed, there has come to you from among yourselves such a prophet that your hardship, your falling into hardship, weighs very heavily on him, it says; your falling into hardship weighs very heavily on him. He is very devoted to you. Devoted — toward the believers he is very compassionate, it says. Then, in the verse after it: Bismillahirrahmanirrahim. O Muhammad! If they turn away, say: Allah is enough for me. The whole world, everything on it, everyone — even if they turned away from you, say: my Lord is enough for me. There is no god but Him. In Him alone I have trusted and (?).

He is the Lord of the mighty Throne. Isn't He the owner of the world? Isn't He the owner of the seven heavens? Isn't He the owner of paradise and hell? The owner of the mighty Throne, it says. (?) — people don't know what the Throne is either.

When it says Arshullah, it means the Throne of Allah. Let's compare now. There's no fault in a comparison. I'll describe the Throne to you. What is the Throne?

This building is my building. Right? Make this building seven stories. Seven stories. Assume millions of apartments on every floor. There are millions of apartments. Here, on every floor, there are creatures living. There are Allah's creations. There are living beings. On every floor. The building is my building. Whose building? Metin Hodja's building. Seven stories, millions of apartments. Is this building named after the people living in this building, or is it named after me? The others are tenants. It isn't called Ahmet's or Mehmet's building. Nor is it called Gabriel's or Israfil's (?). Or paradise's (?), hell's things and so on — it isn't called that.

Whose building is it called? Metin Saruhan's, Metin Hodja's building, together with its surroundings, right? Together with its outer surroundings. So the Arshullah — these seven heavens — it has encircled. It has encircled the seven heavens. When it says Arshullah, when Allah's Throne is said, these seven heavens and what is in them — it means Allah's creations.

When it says that Arshullah, it doesn't mean a specific place. Nor does it mean a specific heaven. The seven heavens — a whole complex encircling the seven heavens, of Allah, that is, Allah's creations. Allah's Throne. So that mighty Throne — when it says mighty Throne — these are, by Allah's sublime knowledge, the sublime beings He created. Yes.

Arshullah: living and lifeless, created, visible to our eyes and invisible — Allah, owner of all beings, created everything inside this Arshullah and is their owner. Yes.

So Moses said: if you and all who are on earth were ungrateful, know that Allah is truly rich, worthy of praise.

According to the verse that says, every soul shall taste death and your return is to Me, those ingrates, those who rebel against Allah, who turn their backs, who deny, idolaters, those who outside the religion of Islam hold various ideologies — tomorrow at the Great Court, when they give account before Allah Almighty, everyone will be sent to the place they deserve. Moses (peace be upon him): if you and all who are on earth were ungrateful, ate and drank the blessings Allah gave and gave Allah (?), while no creation has any right over Allah's creations, if you associated partners with Allah and asked of them, you cannot harm Allah.

Know that Allah is very rich. Because He is the one who brings into being from nothing, the Creator. Created beings, however, are in need of Allah. So praise and glory belong to Allah. So what shall we say? O our Lord who created the worlds, who created us as addressees of His Self, and our Lord, who gave a part of His spirit and held us as addressees of His Self — praise and glory be for the blessings I have given. Who feeds us and gives us drink, who protects us from every kind of disaster, and in the hereafter, though we have no right to anything, offers us great mansions, palaces in the sublime paradise or eternal bliss — while one could say, how exalted is Allah's glory, and remember Him, those fools who don't use their minds, so many blessings they eat and drink and don't see their Lord — of course: are those who know and those who don't equal? He says.

Are those who see and those who don't see equal? He says. Yes. So praise and glory belong to Allah. Because Allah knows the needs of His creatures. He meets their needs within the set lifespan He has given them. He protects them from every kind of evil. Allah needs nothing. Since all created beings were created in need of Allah, the one worthy of being praised, extolled with praise and glorified, and of worship, is Allah. Yes.
