Their Prophets said; “Is there any doubt about Allah who has created the heavens and the earth? But Allah calls for you (to the True Religion) to forgive some of your sins and to let you live until a determined time.” They said; “You are only a human like us. You are trying to divert us from what our ancestors have been worshipping. Thus, bring us a clear proof, a miracle.”
Tafsir
Their Prophets said to the people who exceeded the limits and were in deep doubt about Allah, "Do you have any doubt about the Creator of the heavens and the earth and what is between them? But Allah is One. He is the Creator of all this creation. It is Allah who created you and sent you to the realm of property. He has appointed your deadline for a certain period of time. He has given you a lifetime. Within this lifetime, He wants to cleanse you from the sins you committed in the age of ignorance by inviting you to the true religion and purifying you from your sins. However, these idols that you worship do not benefit or harm themselves, nor do they benefit or harm you. They said that these are inanimate objects and the creations of Allah.
Then the polytheists who disbelieved in Allah and did not want to give up worshipping idols said: "You are nothing but a human being like us. You want to turn us back from what our ancestors worshipped. So bring us a clear proof. Although their prophets brought them many miracles, these people still did not believe in Allah and the Hereafter. They made fun of the miracles and ridiculed them as if they were magicians. Even if Allah (swt) fulfilled all the wishes of such disbelieving pagans, they would still ask for another miracle. The coming of miracles is not in the hands of the Prophets. It is in the will of Allah. When Allah (swt) sent the miracles that the tribes asked for, and these tribes took Allah's miracles lightly and continued their disbelief, when they exceeded the limits, Allah (swt) destroyed the tribes who exceeded such limits and Allah's boundaries.
Allah says that whatever you are, We send Prophets from your kind. Angels also have Prophets. These Prophets are also angels. Gabriel, Azrael, Michael, Israfil, these are the four great angels and the Prophets of the angels. Allah sent Prophets from their own kind for a better understanding of His Word. He has also sent Prophets to human beings from human beings. But the idolaters who do not believe in Allah and the Hereafter, who say, "We found our ancestors on this path, do you want to turn us away from the idols our ancestors worshipped?" will not believe, no matter how many miracles are shown to them. For these are the people who have written down their covenant and destiny as deniers of Allah. Even if thousands of miracles were performed before their eyes, they would not believe. Thus, thousands of miracles occur every day in front of the eyes of people. Allah (swt) says in one of His Verses, "Hundreds of miracles occur before your eyes every day and you do not see them, you are blind".
What is said in the video
We will try to tell you a few things, inshallah. Surah Ibrahim, verse 10. Their prophets said Their prophets said — whose prophets? The prophets of the peoples said: about Allah, who created the heavens and the earth, is there any doubt? Yes. That is, the heavens and the earth and what is between them — out of the blue, with a knowledge and power, these lifeless things were endowed with reason and life and came into being by themselves? Is there doubt that there is a creator who created these, He says? Is there doubt? Yet He, to forgive you some of your sins and to let you live until an appointed time, calls you to the true religion.
That is, Allah Almighty sent you to the earth. He lets you benefit from the earth until an appointed time. Why? "Did you think you would die without proving what kind of person you are?" — according to that verse? When Allah Almighty, in the address "Elestü bi Rabbiküm", said "I am your Lord", as a result of the covenant we gave, our wishes, desires and will became our destiny, and Allah Almighty — us — "ve ashâbu'l-meymeneti mâ ashâbu'l- meymeneh", those on the right, "ve ashâbu'l-meş'emeti mâ ashâbu'l-meş'emeh", those on the left, "ve's-sâbikûne es-sâbikûn ülâike'l-mukarrabûn fî cennâti'n-naîm", a third group He calls the foremost — although we were separated there into those three classes, and although we too became the right, the left and the class of those brought near, why did He send us to the world then?
Let Him not send us. He already knows. If He wrote our destinies according to our will and gave us those characters, and since we won't change from these characters again, isn't Allah Almighty doing something pointless by sending us to the world? Well, Allah is free of all deficient attributes, (?). Allah Almighty gave man a part of His spirit. A part. Through this part, man (?) resembles his Lord. In this case, when Allah Almighty said "I am your Lord" — Elestü bi Rabbiküm? Elestü is a definite command. When He said "I am your Lord", the people there were divided into three groups. (?) three classes, He says.
There: those on the right, those on the left and the class of those brought near. In this case, people, that is, our spirits there — so that you do not say, He says: O Allah, I could not believe in You because I saw You in human form like myself. Had You sent me to the world, that is, to a realm where Your essence is hidden, unseen, unknown — had You sent me, I would have worshipped You there. Look, we've already written the commentary of that surah here too. (?) we say these under the verses. Yes. Ta-Ha Surah, verse 134 — another verse supports this again: if We had destroyed them with a punishment before this, before the Quran — the Quran, the Torah, (?) and the Gospel, all included — before this, not in the world, even earlier, before this, He says, before the Quran — where?
Why, in the realm of the hereafter. Had We destroyed them, He says. Destroyed. Had We destroyed them with a punishment before the Quran, they would surely have said, He says: O Lord, if only You had sent us a messenger, so that before falling into this baseness and disgrace we could have followed Your verses, they would have said, He says.
So, because Allah Almighty is free of deficient attributes, He sends us to the unseen realm. (?) the prophets. (?) the books. (?) the scholars Allah Himself trained.
Go ahead. Allah does not call anyone to account for what they have not heard. In this case, people — to let you live until an appointed time, He calls you to the true religion. A certain (?), that is, with My attribute of being free of deficient attributes, He says, I sent you to an unseen realm, a realm where My essence is not seen. Here, He says, you will benefit from the blessings of the world during your lifetime. And while benefiting from these worldly blessings, through your trading, your dialogue and talk with one another, or your commerce, what kind of person you are — through the deeds you have done, you will be witnesses against yourselves, to those around you and to Allah, He says. In this case, with all these conversations of ours, our deeds, our trading, Allah Almighty creates (?), and in this case we prove what kind of person we are.
When the time is up, Allah's command comes to pass. Once more, until the Day of Judgment, until we are raised again after it, in that gathering place — "Eleysallahu bi ahkemi'l-hâkimîn" — until Allah Almighty, the Judge of judges, calls us to account in the Great Court, we wait in the barzakh. The grave (kabir) of our spirits is waiting in the barzakh. And the burial places (mezar) of our bodies are the cemeteries. Those aren't grave-yards (kabristan), they are burial grounds (mezarlık). Bodies are in burial places. Our spirits are in their graves. When we say grave — since there is no death for spirits, there is no death for spirits.
Death is for bodies. Spirit, nafs and soul are one; bodies are separate. In this case, He says every nafs will taste death. Every nafs. What does this mean? If spirit, nafs and soul are one, and if the nafs will taste death, the nafs — when I die, let's say I'm drinking tea from this glass. (?) I tasted it. That is, (?) but this is gone. The body is gone. Now, those who don't know these things put people into paradise and hell with the body too, and with many stories, with absurd superstitions, they have dragged people into falsehoods in religion. No one knows about the verses. The verses are gone anyway.
Yes. What does it say? To forgive you some of your sins and to let you live until an appointed time, He calls you to the true religion. To the true religion. That is, I created you, I am your Lord, if you carry out My commands — what is religion? Religion is Allah's legal ruling over people. Just as every nation, every state has a constitution, our Lord's constitution over people is His religion. Religion, that is, His commands over us. Well, our Lord promises that if we carry out these commands we will attain salvation, He says. Yes. They said: you too are nothing but human beings like us. You want to turn us away from what our forefathers worshipped.
Then bring us a clear proof, it says. A clear proof.
Whoever asks Allah for a miracle, Allah makes that miracle appear, and if the person then denies that miracle, that people is doomed to be destroyed. In the time of the Prophet (peace be upon him), they asked for miracles. But the Prophet (peace be upon him) showed miracles not at their request, but through certain events. Only one miracle: at the wish of a commander called Habib, splitting the moon, healing his daughter, his disabled daughter — he asks for a miracle about this, and when these appear, the one who asked for the miracle becomes a Muslim. And since the Prophet came as a mercy to the worlds — mercy.
Mercy — since Allah Almighty says "My mercy has surpassed My wrath", and since the Prophet (peace be upon him) is "ve mâ erselnâke illâ rahmeten li'l-âlemîn", Allah Almighty has removed destructions from the earth. There is no destruction. There are only calamities. He gives two or three calamities a year so that they return to Allah. But where does He say it in a verse? They receive help from one another, but they never return to Allah, He says.
Indeed, to the peoples who had deep doubt about Allah, their prophets said: Do you have some doubt about the One who created the heavens and the earth and what is between them, do you have doubt? Yet Allah is one. He is the one who created all these beings. That Allah who created you and sent you to the material world. He appointed your term until a certain fixed time. He gave you a life. Within this life, by inviting you to the true religion, purifying you of your sins, of the sins you committed in the age of ignorance, He wants to cleanse you. (?) the idols you worship have neither any benefit or harm for themselves nor any benefit or harm for you.
These are lifeless objects and Allah's creations, the prophets said.
Thereupon the polytheists who denied Allah and did not want to give up worshipping idols said: you too are nothing but human beings like us. You want to turn us away from what our forefathers worshipped. I say: here I put a full stop. The same situation is happening to me. This same situation is happening to me. Just as the prophets invited to the Truth, said there is no god but Allah, and those who ruled by falsehood, those bound to their luxury, did not give up what they knew, so with us: although we convey the Truth to them — within Islam, to people who are in Islam, who are Muslims and pass themselves off as scholars — although we convey the truth to them, although we confirm that they have explained the verses they explained wrongly, people say: what is your education?
I won't tell about education — (?) his own education? What is your education, he says. He's looking for a label. A label. With this label you got from Ahmet or Mehmet, you speak with your own mind, as far as your mind goes. And according to your mind you interpret the verses, you explain them as superstitions like this. As superstition. But with the way a person trained by his Lord explains the verses, with the way he conveys the truth to you, you don't use your mind; you see that none of this man's words contradict one another, and yet, driven by the nafs, even though your mind too sees what is right, your position and honor, um, the income of that position — we should rather say: those who, in the face of the verses, sell Allah's word for material things.
In this case, if you get carried away by fame and glory, occupy a certain position, and then explain the verses to people (?) with superstitions like this, tomorrow in the Great Court, in Allah's presence, how will you save yourself from the burden of this? Will you look for a label there too?
What does it say in Surah Ibrahim? Shall we read verse 4? Let's read. We sent every prophet with the language of his own people, He says. So that it would be better understood, He says. So that it would be better understood. He doesn't say I sent it in Arabic, I sent it in Persian, in Turkish, in English — He doesn't say that. He doesn't say it must be Arabic. What does He say? So that it would be better understood, We sent every prophet with the language of his own people. Go ahead, let's read that part.
Yes.
Verse four. They explained it wrongly. Pay attention. I'll say the wrong explanation, then we'll say the correct one. So that he may explain Allah's commands to them clearly, We sent every prophet only with the language of his own people. Then Allah leads astray whom He wills. God forbid. Allah leads no one astray. Allah does not (?) among His servants. That's how far your understanding goes.
You accuse Allah of injustice. And we try to emphasize Allah's justice — that His justice (?) is sound, that He will not commit injustice. Who are you? You accuse Allah of injustice. What does it say? Then Allah leads astray whom He wills. Wasn't His mercy for everyone in the universe? What kind of mercy for everyone is this, that removes some from the scene and leads astray whom He wills? Well, did You create the people You don't lead astray, and not create the people You lead astray? Since You created everything, all of them. Then why do You discriminate among Your servants?
His understanding is this: he's a disbeliever, so that's why He leads him astray. Well, if he is a disbeliever, he used his own will. Where? In the address "Elestü bi Rabbiküm". He also denied Allah. If he denied, He gave him the will of his wishes and desires as his destiny. So Allah didn't lead him astray there either. Because of the great value He gave to man. According to the verse "We have honored you above the worlds". Because of the great value He gave us, He left us free in our own will. He wrote our wishes and desires as our destiny. In this case, He worked these destinies into us as characters.
When we come into the world, we prove what kind of person we are through the deeds we do. One gets rewards and sins. After it is said "this is what you are", when our life ends and we pass on to the hereafter, people say: send me back again. Look how we will worship You — when they say this, He says: even if We sent you back not once but several more times, you would do the same thing. Because once you have those characters, you will never change again. That's how those who lack this knowledge explain it, with half a mind. Yet what do we say? So that he may explain Allah's commands to them clearly, We sent every prophet only with the language of his own people.
Then whoever wills strays from Allah, and whoever wills enters the right path. For He is the Possessor of power and wisdom. Aren't we like that? Isn't it from our own wish? We tell the non-Muslim there is Allah. We say there is no god but Allah. We say He is the absolute owner of the universe. And we say this order did not establish itself. Use your mind a little, I say. Is that so? Maybe it is, he says, and goes. And he stares like an ox. He just can't get it from his ear engraved into his brain. Why? Hatemallahu alâ kulûbihim ve alâ sem'ihim ve alâ ebsârihim gışâveh, ve lehüm azâbün azîm. Over their eyes, He says, is a veil, and in their ears heaviness, He says.
Their heart is sealed too. However much you call, they neither hear the truth nor see the truth, He says.
Then bring us a clear proof, they said. Who? Non-Muslims. To whom do they say it? To their prophets.
Although their prophets brought them many miracles, these people still did not believe in Allah and the hereafter. Of course there are some among them who believe and some who don't. Those who don't believe — in the realm of the hereafter, in that address "Elestü bi Rabbiküm" — that place is very important. There, when they made the covenant with Allah Almighty, since the will of their own wishes and desires became their destiny, and since characters were placed according to that destiny, they will never return to Islam. Yes. And according to this, some half-wits put all of them, all disbelievers, into this category and say: Allah does not guide them. Yet Allah Almighty is free of deficient attributes.
He places a Muslim soul in the loins of a disbeliever, and in the loins of a Muslim He places a disbeliever's soul. Just as Abraham's father was a disbeliever and Abraham there became a prophet — like that. Just as Noah (peace be upon him) was a prophet and into his loins, well, He placed a (?) soul, his son's; they, by their own will, later become disbelievers if Muslim, and Muslim if disbelievers. So saying "Allah does not guide the disbelieving people" means: as long as they continue in that state, they cannot attain guidance. Are there none among them who attain guidance? There are. Why? Allah Almighty, to them, to people, has presented every kind of event.
So that tomorrow you don't say: You created me in the Muslim world, You created me in the world of disbelief — had You created me in the Muslim world, I'd have become Muslim — that's why, by placing a Muslim soul in the loins of that disbelieving person, He raises him there. That person then researches his religion. He sees the truth and converts to Islam. Look, He says, this one was among the disbelievers too. This one was in a Muslim land. Look, this one will become a disbeliever, He says. So what is this? It is this: when this partial will made its covenant with its Lord, in that "Elestü bi Rabbiküm" address, with Allah Almighty — the covenant of the part with its whole — Allah Almighty wrote the part's will entirely as its destiny.
But when he starts going into these, a man says — he says it from the Religious Affairs office — this. From the (?) office. You can't go into these, he says. You'll fall into fatalism, he says. You'll become a fatalist, he says. And if you open this up, you'll fall into the (?) class, he says. Denies Allah. You'll come to (?), he says. Yet that's how they were raised. This verse must be explained so that all the verses agree with one another. That covenant is essential. People know nothing about the covenant. No one knows about this covenant-making.
They've deliberately closed this off anyway. Yes.
What do we say? Then bring us a clear proof, they said. Although their prophets brought them many miracles, these people still did not believe in Allah and the hereafter. As if amusing themselves with the miracles, they mocked: this is a sorcerer. Even if Allah Almighty had fulfilled all the wishes of such denying, idolatrous people, these people would then, in another wish, ask for another miracle too. The coming of these miracles is not in the prophets' hands. It is in Allah's will. This too is in Allah's will. Why isn't it in the prophet's will? A prophet cannot show a miracle. That is, he cannot create it by himself.
Creating belongs to Allah alone. The prophet only wishes, and Allah, if He wills, sends it, and if He wills, doesn't send it. Why does He send it if He wills, and not if He wills? Because if it is outside their destinies, according to the verse "Do not put on your backs a load you cannot bear", He doesn't send it. And when the prophets wish for a miracle, they wish with Allah's will. With Allah's will. And Allah Almighty fulfills the will that the prophet He wills wished for and shows them the miracles. For example, like asking Salih to bring a camel out of a rock. From Salih — he prays to his Lord.
A camel will come out. In fact, all the worlds are programmed. It is events appearing, part by part, out of the programs. In no way does this whole world go outside the program until the end. Everything moves within a program. For example, what does Jonah say? They, he says, accused me of lying for so many years. He separates me from them. What does He do? The flood begins.
Jonah (peace be upon him) shows so many miracles. Pharaoh still digs in his heels. First he says: I believed in your Lord. Those miracles were shown in the open, and normally, for example, seven signs, he says. The removal of the locusts, the removal of the blood, um, the removal of the drought — he has Moses pray for all of them. Saying: I believed in you, in your Lord. Still, because he turned to denial again. Finally, at the Red Sea, he says: I believed in your Lord. Now, he says to Moses, I believe in your Lord. Because the moment of death has come. Now the door of repentance is closed. Now? He says, you believed in the Lord of Moses?
Your lifeless body, He says, I will leave today as a lesson to the worlds, He says, I will save it, He says. Your lifeless body. Had He said living body, he would have been alive forever. Today your lifeless body, as a lesson to the worlds, He says, to show it, I will save. Surah Yunus, verse 92, I think. Have a look at it. Don't fall asleep. Look at verse 92 for me. No sleeping.
Allah Almighty — whatever you are, We send prophets of your kind — declares. The angels too have prophets. These prophets are angels too. Gabriel, Azrael, Michael, Israfil. These are the four great angels. They are the prophets of the angels. So that Allah's word would be better understood, He sent prophets from their own kind. Now, we say our Lord trained us too. If I had used a deficient word, that is, used a wrong word — if, though my Lord had not trained me, I said — if I said my Lord didn't train me — this tongue, you see, the tongue brings you out into the open; with what you speak, one thing you say won't match another thing you say, one verse contradicts another, and you'd be among the liars. You'd be caught at once.
I've been speaking for so many years. No verse, no word of mine has contradicted any word of mine. And we wrote these down. 3,956 pages, 4,000 pages. Read these 4,000 pages. You won't find a word in them that contradicts another. Am I not human? I'm human too, I make mistakes. But not toward you anymore. Because I'm on duty, you won't find (?) here. These are all counterparts of verses. For everything I say, for every sentence I speak, I'll bring you a verse.
Verse 92. O Pharaoh! So that it may be a lesson for those after you, today We will save your body lifeless. Indeed, many people are truly heedless of Our verses, He says. They are heedless of the verses. Yes. So that Allah's word would be better understood, He sent prophets from their own kind. And to humans He sent prophets from among humans. But those who don't believe in Allah and the hereafter — "We found our forefathers on this path; do you want to turn us away from the idols our forefathers worshipped?" — to the idolaters who say this, however many miracles are shown, they will not believe. Because these are people who, in their covenant at the beginning, had themselves recorded as deniers of Allah. Even if thousands of miracles appeared before their eyes, they won't believe. And so, before people's eyes — yes, thousands — before the eyes of people, thousands of miracles appear every day.
The counterpart of the verse is before your eyes: every day hundreds of miracles appear, but you don't see, you are blind, He says. You are blind. Allah Almighty declares in a verse: before your eyes every day hundreds of miracles appear, you don't see, you are blind. Yes.
