Translation

“Why should we not depend and trust on Allah, while Allah has shown to us our paths, ? We will surely show patience for the oppression you commit against us. Those who depend and trust should only show persistence in depending and trusting on Allah.”

Tafsir

Why should we not obey Allah and His Messenger, when Allah has shown us the way, brought us out of darkness into the light, and sent us His Verses and His Prophets, when the people who made a good covenant with Allah in the past (kalu bela), along with His Prophets, said to those who were polytheists and disbelievers, 'Why should we not obey Allah and His Messenger, even if you persecute us? Even if you persecute us, we will never turn our backs to Allah. We will certainly endure these persecutions for the sake of Allah, we will never turn to your way and we will never compromise with Allah. They said that we are people who put our trust in Allah.

(Those who put their trust in Allah alone). Allah (swt) gives respite to mankind until the righteous and the unrighteous are distinguished among them. In the end, those who are with Allah will survive. Those who oppose Allah and His Messenger will perish in this world and suffer a painful punishment in the Hereafter.

What is said in the video

Surah Ibrahim, verse 12. And when He has shown us our ways, why should we not rely and trust in Allah? He showed our ways — what does it say — since He has shown — since He has shown our ways — which way did He show you? Did He show you the way to go to the market? Our minds are limited. We were created deficient. Deficient in mind. With our own minds alone we could not easily find the truth and easily escape from this swamp of a world. Had We wished, He says. Had We wished. Without My sending you prophets, you should have known Me with your minds, with the mind I gave you. But My mercy reached you, He says.

My mercy — I sent you books and prophets, He says. I showed you the right path. I explained to you the purpose of your creation. I showed you with My verses that you are not left aimless in this material world. I sent you prophets, messengers, books. I invited everyone with reason to think and to reflect. This created universe, life and soul — did they gather together and come into being by themselves? So that you'd ask yourself that, I gave you a fine mind, He says. So know that there is a power that created these worlds, and serve Me, He says. While asking your servitude of you, He says — while asking your servitude — don't say "work and give it to Me".

I don't want that, He says. I'm not telling you to work and give it to Me, He says. Just conform to My purpose of creating, He says. What is Your purpose of creating, my Lord? I was, He says, a hidden treasure; I was not known. Before the worlds were created, I subsisted by My essence, He says. I willed to be known. I took you as a name for My essence. I gave you a part of My spirit. Know Me as Lord; I want nothing else from you, He says. Don't associate partners with Me, He says.

Is that such a hard thing? Is it really that hard? Is it hard to say Allah?

In return for all the blessings Allah has given — eating and drinking, enjoying yourself in your car, your house, your yacht, your palace — is it so hard, in return, to just once put your forehead in prostration to the Most Merciful? In return for these blessings He gives, is He asking something hard of me, Allah? This is something to marvel at. I'm baffled by people's minds. Yes. What does he rely on? What does he trust in?

What does it say? And when He has shown us our ways, why should we not rely on Allah and trust Him? We will surely endure the torment you inflict on us. Let those who trust (?) in trusting only Allah. How beautiful. What do we say? Hasbünallahü ve ni'me'l-vekîl, ni'me'l-mevlâ ve ni'me'n-nasîr.

Rely only on Allah, put your trust in Allah. Hold fast to the means, take precautions, leave the outcome to Allah. Be content with what comes, with what comes from Allah. Be content. And while being content, say this: O Allah, no one can endure Your affliction. And You do not put on our backs a load we cannot bear. Surely behind every climb there is a descent, and at the end of every descent a climb. And we came to this world for a test. Join me to those who are patient, to those who are Your servants, among the servants, and be beautifully patient with what comes from your Lord. Like Job. We cannot match his patience, but at least we take him as an example.

Yes. Those who, with the prophets Allah Almighty sent to people, in pre-eternity at "kalu bela" gave Allah Almighty a good covenant, together with their prophets, said to those who were polytheists and disbelievers: Allah Almighty has shown us our ways, brought us out of darkness into light, sent His verses and prophets to us — why should we not obey Allah and His Messenger? Even if you torment us — who? The disbelievers. We will never turn our backs on Allah. We will surely endure these torments you inflict, for Allah's sake; we will never return to your way. And we will make no concession to anyone regarding Allah.

We are people who have put our trust in Allah, they said, it says — the prophets too. Let those who trust put their trust only in Allah. Until the righteous and the wrongful among people are separated, Allah Almighty gives them respite. In the end, those who are with Allah find life. As for those who oppose Allah and His Messenger, just as they are destroyed in the world, in the hereafter too a painful punishment befalls them. Yes.
