Tafsir
Allah (swt) is warning people by mentioning the situation of those who disbelieve in Him. It shows that human beings are not without owners, that they are responsible to Allah, who created them, and that people forget the purpose for which they were created and act outside of Allah's command, and what punishments will befall them and what will happen to them.
The situation of those who disbelieve in their Lord is that these people who disbelieve in Allah will certainly do good deeds. However, even if their good deeds are acceptable in the sight of Allah, their good deeds will not be acceptable in the sight of Allah when they pass from this world to the Hereafter as disbelievers. It is likened to the ashes of a fire being blown away by the wind. The good deeds and good deeds of such people are nothing compared to their disbelief. He says in one of His verses, "All their good deeds have been in vain".
Because Allah is the owner of existence and all that exists. Allah is also the owner of the wealth and property He gives to human beings. With the verse that says, "All souls will taste death," then Allah will inherit the heavens and the earth, all these creations will be left to Allah. Allah does not need these creations. All these created beings and the materials in the world are materials created for people to receive rewards and sins. It is for people to testify against Allah (swt) what kind of a person they are with their desire for them.
The people who go to the Hereafter as kuffar, forgetting Allah while they are in the world, or associating partners with Allah, or seeking help from other than Allah, and serving falsehood for the sake of their ego, for the sake of their worldly desires, saying that they are worshipping, and the good deeds and good deeds that these people have done are compared to ashes that the wind blows away violently, along with the sins they have committed.
These people have gained nothing from what they have earned. They have become bankrupt merchants. They have gone astray in the middle of the straight path by disobeying Allah out of hatred and arrogance, even though they can see the right path in the face of the truths and realities shown by Allah (swt). This is the way people are with their ego and accept the punishment of the Hereafter in advance, without thinking about tomorrow and the disasters that hatred and arrogance have dragged people into. When they cannot bear the torment they will suffer in the Hereafter, they will desire death in every aspect with regrets.
Even though these people know about these disasters, every stubborn tyrant and those who are subject to these stubborn tyrants, such people, are people who have gone astray in the middle of the straight path. They are the people who buy the torment of hell in advance when they enter the Hereafter in this state.
What is said in the video
Let it be on the topics; if you have questions, ask. Yes.
Surah Ibrahim, verse 18: The state of those who deny their Lord is this, it says. Of course, we were not created aimlessly. Every person was created with knowledge. Does this knowledge come together like this by chance, and is such an orderly being created? Are all the realms, sir, created matching one another or so as to complete one another? Is there any (?) in the creation of each realm?
Then there is a Creator. Look what this Creator says to us. The state of those who deny the Creator of these realms is this, it says. What is it? Their deeds, on a stormy day, which the wind violently scatters, are like ashes. On a stormy day. Say a hurricane blows at 100, 120 kilometres an hour. There is ash here. You scatter it. Ash flies in the air anyway. It turned to dust, passed, gone. Is anything left behind? No. Yes. They cannot obtain anything of what they earned. Of what they earned. In the hereafter, all the fine works they did have gone to waste, it says. We will not even set up a scale for them, it says.
The scale. Yes. What is a scale set up for? A scale is set up for a person in order to give him something — it is set up for him. He will give him his due. Of course — I've earned it. I give you money. You will give me goods in return. That's how a scale is set up. We don't give Allah Almighty money, but what do we give? Worship Me, He says. Our acts of worship are, in Allah's sight, our earnings. The good deeds we have stored up in the hereafter are its return, our earnings, and their return is the highest paradise. Yes. Then what is the state of non-Muslims? It is like the state of ash scattered in stormy weather, it says.
They cannot obtain anything of what they earned. That is going utterly astray, it says. Going utterly astray.
After the verse we'll explain it, inshallah.
What does it say? They cannot obtain anything of what they earned. That is going utterly astray, it says.
What does it mean? That is going utterly astray.
I gave you a mind, He says. Do you never use your mind? Do you never reflect? Yes. In a period of ignorance a person may sin. Then he regrets, feels remorse, repents. And Allah Almighty says, you will find Me much Tawwab. You will find Me the Acceptor of repentance, He says. In this case. What is going utterly astray? Although each person's mind knows that there is One who created him, out of spite, taking Satan as his guide, with nafs-driven feelings, the person who bears hatred against Allah Almighty, against his Creator, is in fact, it says, directly the one who goes astray. That is the one who goes utterly astray.
He knows his Creator, he knows there is Someone who created the realms, he knows that the Creator of these realms provides for him, but, whatever (?) that is, because not everything he says happens, his own Lord, his Creator, he blames, he betrays Him, and since no power — against our Lord who created us, if mankind and jinn gathered they could not harm Allah — since no power can do Him harm, still, at Satan's enticement, digging in their heels against Allah and His Messenger, the people who oppose the religion of Islam — that is going utterly astray. That is the one who goes astray like that knowingly.
Yes.
By speaking of the state of those who deny Him, Allah Almighty gives people a warning. And people forgetting the purpose of their creation, that they are responsible to Allah who created them, and, forgetting the purpose of mankind's creation, by acting outside Allah's command, what penalties they will be dealt and what will befall them — He tells.
As for the state of those who deny their Lord, it is this. These people who deny Allah will surely do good and charitable deeds. But although the good and charitable deeds they did may be accepted in Allah's sight, by their passing from this world to the hereafter as deniers, such people's good deeds will not be seen as accepted in Allah's sight.
It is likened to the ash of a fire violently scattered in windy weather. It shows that these people's good deeds too, against the kufr they committed, are a nothing. In a verse: all those works they did have gone to waste, He declares. Because the owner of existence and of all beings is Allah. The wealth and property He gives people also belong to Allah. What does He say? Every soul shall taste death, the inheritance of the heavens and the earth will remain to Allah, He says. Because Allah created all of it; from every atom, (?), all of it is Allah's. We, on what He created, as a trust, live in the life of this world and also eat and drink what He gives, enjoy pleasures on earth and go about. In that case, toward Allah Almighty, who offers so many blessings to His creation, by not thanking the Giver of those blessings, into a state baser than the animals roaming the earth does a person not fall?
Yes.
Because the owner of existence and of all beings is Allah. The wealth and property He gives people also belong to Allah. Every soul shall taste death. With His verse saying, Thereafter the inheritance of the heavens and the earth will remain to Allah, all these created things will again remain to Allah. Allah has no need of these created things. All these created beings and the things in the world are things created for people to earn reward and sin. It is so that, through the desire they feel for these, people hold themselves, as to what kind of person they are, as witnesses before Allah Almighty.
In the dealings they make, in eating and drinking, toward people, in their behaviour toward people, in their being in dialogue with them. In every state, what kind of person a person is, by his behaviour, his acts and doings, like a video shot on camera, they are being recorded, being registered. On the Day of Judgment, with no way at all to escape, without evasion, all of these will come before people. Did you think you would die without proving what kind of person you are — in response to that verse, people will prove in the world what kind of person they are, and in our Lord's presence, at the Supreme Court, Eleysallahu bi ahkemi'l-hakimin — He who is the Judge, before the Judge of judges, with no way of evasion left, a person, what kind of person he is, there too, after realising it — if good, good; if bad, bad — then everyone will be sent to their places.
So do not be deceived by the spoils of this passing worldly life and, like the flower of the zaqqum tree that blooms in swamps, do not (?) and plunge into it. Do not be porters of the world. Porters of the world. My ummah will divide into three groups, he says. The first, even if he has no food from evening to morning, (?) says Allah. He puts his trust in Allah. The second gathers without caring whether it is halal or haram. For him there is a painful punishment, he says. The third gathers from the halal. For him too there is a fine reckoning, he says. Even though he gathers from the halal. What is a fine reckoning? If your neighbour goes to bed hungry and you go to bed full, you are responsible for it.
Yes. You think about the rest.
Again it will remain to Allah; the owner of this wealth and property, of existence, Allah's, is Allah. Allah has no need of these created things. All these created beings and the things in the world are things created for people to earn reward and sin. It is so that, through the desire they feel for these, people hold themselves, as to what kind of person they are, as witnesses before Allah Almighty. So: the people who go to the hereafter as unbelievers, while in the world forgetting Allah or associating partners with Allah, in the world, with their desires for the world, saying, I worship, for their nafs, serve falsehood.
Falsehood. By their associating partners with Allah and seeking help from other than Allah, these people's good and charitable deeds, beside the sins they committed, are likened to ash violently scattered by the wind.
Yes, these people could not obtain anything of what they earned. They have fallen into the state of a bankrupt merchant.
Before the truths and realities Allah Almighty has shown, although a person sees the right path, by opposing Allah out of hatred and arrogance, in the middle of the straight road they went astray. So, without thinking of tomorrow, toward the disasters into which hatred and arrogance have dragged people — people's being together with the nafs is accepting the punishment of the hereafter in advance.
When they cannot bear the punishment they will suffer in the hereafter, full of regret, in every way they will long for death. Death, O destruction, where are you, they will say; destruction — there is no more death for them to be destroyed or die. These people, although they know of these disasters — all the people who are stubborn tyrants, and those who follow these stubborn tyrants, such people — are people who, in the middle of the straight road, have utterly gone astray. Passing into the hereafter in this state, they are people who have bought in advance the punishment of hell.
