Translation

Did you not see the example that Allah has brought? A beautiful word (resembles) a tree, which has branches in the sky and has solid roots (in the ground).

Tafsir

Allah (swt) gives an example of those who believe in Allah and the Hereafter, and who adorn themselves with piety by ruling by the Shari'ah without associating partners with Allah. These people spoke a good word. The meaning of eloquence here is the word tawheed. They say that there is no god but Allah, and they put their trust in Allah. Those who are in accordance with the purpose for which Allah has created mankind, who consent to what comes from Him, who set their hearts on Allah and spread Allah's justice in the earth, these people are likened to a tree whose root is in the earth and its branches in the sky. Since the deeds of these people are for the sake of Allah, those who help Allah's religion to gain Allah's pleasure without deviating from the path shown by Allah are likened to the root of the tree. They are described as strong and sure. When it is said that the branches are in the sky, it means that these are people who have strengthened their character by this, who have been freed from the idle things in their hearts and have been exalted in the sight of Allah and their faith has been strengthened. Allah is pleased with them and they are pleased with Allah.

Allah (swt) says in one of His verses, "Allah will complete His light until the Day of Resurrection". The people who have made a good covenant with Allah (swt), as long as the world lasts, such people will come to the earth, and like the root of a strong tree, they will stand firm and will keep the religion of Allah (swt) alive until the Day of Judgment, one after the other.

The deeds of such people and the words of such people are Allah's Shari'ah rulings, which are in accordance with Allah's Shari'ah law, and are rooted, grounded and firmly established. Since Allah (swt) is free from any incomplete attribute, He does not do anything incomplete, He declares that these people, with their good deeds and good words, will keep the religion of Allah alive until the Day of Judgment, and that no one will be able to extinguish the light of this religion.

What is said in the video

Surah Ibrahim, verse 24 Have you not seen how Allah sets forth a parable, it says. Now He gives a parable. He likened a good word to a good tree whose root is firm in the ground and whose branches are in the sky, it says. Root in the ground, branches in the sky — what does it say? He likened it to a good tree, firm, whose branches are in the sky. If the root is sound, the root there, and the soil is fertile too, does this tree in the heavens grow or not? If its air and water are right too, this tree becomes a magnificent tree. It becomes a strong and sturdy tree. Allah likens the light of Islam to this.

A person honored with the light of Islam is one who stands firmly on the ground, who is self-assured and useful to those around him. What a beautiful parable. Yes, have you not seen how Allah sets forth a parable? He likened a good word to a good tree whose root is in the ground and whose firm branches are in the sky, it says. To those who believe in Allah and the hereafter, who, without associating partners with Allah, abiding by sharia rulings, adorn themselves with piety, Allah Almighty sets forth a parable. These people spoke a good word. What is meant by the good word here is the word of tawhid.

That is, there is no god but Allah. And this is the most beautiful of words. La ilahe illallah. Followed by Muhammeden Resulullah. Yes.

It is their saying there is no god but Allah. It is their trusting in Allah. Those who fit the purpose for which Allah created people, who are content with what comes from Him, who give their hearts to Allah and spread Allah's justice on earth, these are likened to a tree whose root is in the ground and whose branches are in the sky.

Since the deeds these people do are for Allah, those who, without leaving the path Allah showed, to gain Allah's pleasure, help Allah's religion, are likened to the tree's root. Yes. They keep inserting ads here, I don't know how they get in. Yes.

These are described as firm and trustworthy people. For example, in the time of the Prophet (peace be upon him), the noble Companions, those noble Companions, clinging tightly around the Prophet. What a fine, sturdy tree. The roots around it are sturdy too. Those roots — to those roots Allah Almighty, in verse 100 of Surah At-Tawbah, speaks so beautifully. To those roots.

Here, let's read from here. It's better understood.

The first Muhajirun and Ansar who were foremost in entering the religion of Islam, and those who followed them in goodness — there are those, it says — them, well, Allah is pleased with them. And they are pleased with Allah. For them Allah has gardens beneath which rivers flow, in which they will abide forever, prepared. That is the great salvation. Therefore this is not a verse valid only for that time.

Verses continue until the Day of Judgment. Allah Almighty likens the scholars He has raised to the tree, and its roots to the people around them. These, in unity and togetherness, like the branches of a tree, like its shade, raise Islam high. But unfortunately those who put worms in the tree, who practice hypocrisy, who appear Muslim and, (?), lead people along behind them and, with the aim of driving them away from Islam, set people against one another, who discriminate, who drive them away from brotherhood — these people are outside this tree and people outside this verse — those who believe and do good deeds, it says, right? These are people who have not believed, hypocrites, appearing Muslim, Islam with verses of the Gospel, or with those man-made words in the Gospel, the hadiths of the Prophet they combine, trying to produce a moderate religion of Islam, rebelling against our Lord, who will (?) Allah's religion upright until the Day of Judgment — these wretched people who have fallen into the state of rebels.

Not these. Yes.

Just as those who consume interest have declared war on Allah and His Messenger.

Since Allah will keep His religion until the Day of Judgment firm, since He will complete His light until the Day of Judgment, according to the verse: Who is truer to his word than Allah? — these wretched people, if they stand against Allah to produce a moderate religion of Islam, like this, will get a very fine slap from Allah. And if those who still follow him don't come to their senses, they too will deserve this slap. Yes. If they still don't come to their senses, if they still go on with prejudice, if they still act on the feelings of their nafs, the religion of Islam never fits with feelings of the nafs and with prejudice.

The religion of Islam fits with reason. With reason. Man will use his reason, compare, and come to understand crooked and straight. Yes.

How beautifully Allah Almighty describes Islam.

These are described as firm and trustworthy people. By saying branches in the sky: these, in this state, have strengthened their character, freed themselves from the (?) in their hearts, risen high in Allah's sight, people whose faith has grown strong. Allah is pleased with them and they are pleased with Allah — such are these people. Yes.

In a verse, too, Allah Almighty says Allah will, until the Day of Judgment, complete His light. People who give Allah Almighty a good covenant — as long as the world stands, until the Day of Judgment, such people will come to earth, and like the root of a sturdy tree, without collapsing, standing upright, people coming one after another will keep Allah's religion alive until the Day of Judgment. Even if a worm infests a tree, that worm will only eat itself up. Because that tree's root is sturdy.

The deeds such people do and the words they speak conform to Allah's sharia law; set on rooted, well-founded and sturdy ways, they are Allah's sharia rulings. And since Allah Almighty is free of deficient attributes and will not do a deficient deed, He declares that with the good deeds and good words of these people Allah's religion will be kept alive until the Day of Judgment, and that no one will be able to extinguish the light of this religion. So those who try to extinguish this light should know this: against them stands the Owner of the worlds, Allah. So people who follow this person should also know that if they tag along behind a person who has Allah against him and go, they too will set Allah against themselves — they should know this.

Yes.

To the one who understands, a mosquito is a saz; to the one who doesn't, even drum and zurna are not enough.
