Ibrahim 34: Allah has given you from all the things that you desired. If you tried to count Allah’s blessings, you would not be able to. Verily, (most) people are oppressors, they are ungrateful.

Translation

Allah has given you from all the things that you desired. If you tried to count Allah’s blessings, you would not be able to. Verily, (most) people are oppressors, they are ungrateful.

Tafsir

Since Allah (swt) is the Creator, He knows what people will need, so He has placed all the needs of people in the world. In this respect, if people were to count the blessings of Allah (swt), they would not be able to count them. Allah (swt) has created many more blessings for human beings that they do not know.

Even though Allah has placed all the needs of people on the earth, people turn their backs on the Lord who provides for them. They eat and drink with pleasure, but they do not remember Allah (swt) and give Him thanks. They also associate partners with Allah. They attribute Allah's blessings to their idols made with their own hands. They deny Allah from whom they eat and drink and from whom they satisfy all their needs. Indeed, in this case, man is very unjust and ungrateful to his soul.

What is said in the video

Surah Ibrahim, verse 34 — we have come to it. This is a wrongly explained verse. Surah Ibrahim, verse 34.

What does verse 34 say? He gave you of everything you asked for.

We didn't ask.

Allah placed what we need. What would we know? What would we know of gold? What would we know of silver? What would we know of that? Of this. When this verse says "He gives you what you ask for", I want immortality too; let Him give me that too. There is immortality. Lokman the Physician found it.

So this part is lacking. Let's say it was so. Let's accept this part like that too. That is, let's accept it like this. (?), He placed on earth everything we need. Let's accept it like this. That's the meaning anyway.

If you were to count Allah's blessings, you could not count them. This is true too.

And that statement contradicts this anyway. He gave everything we asked for. If we tried to count the blessings, you could not count them.

Can I not count what we asked for? Yes. Here, as I said, (?), this: whatever we need, Allah Almighty has on earth placed — we accepted that. We accept it in that way.

When it says "Truly man is very unjust, very ungrateful", here we stop.

Now this is where the issue arises.

If man is very unjust, very ungrateful, then Allah could not create a servant obedient to Him. He created very unjust and very ungrateful servants. Isn't that so? Man, it says. Is very unjust, very ungrateful. Man. And if man is very unjust, very ungrateful, then Allah, as Allah, could not create an upright person. Whereas the correct form there is: many people are very unjust, very ungrateful. Many are very unjust, very ungrateful. This goes as far as (?). There, according to the covenant people gave, whether they are obedient to Allah Almighty or wretched becomes evident, and our Lord knows this.

So most people there, when they made the covenant with Allah Almighty by their own will, are very ungrateful and very unjust. And He informs us of this in the verses. Yes. That is the truth of the matter anyway.

Since Allah Almighty is the Creator, what people will need He knows — now we are correcting this part. You know where it says "He gave you of everything you asked for", we are translating this part. (?) We are softening it a bit. Since Allah Almighty is the Creator, what people will need He knows, so He has placed all of people's needs in the world. How beautiful — because He is the Creator. Allah knows what one needs; we do not.

A person builds an engine; the engine needs fuel, he says, and puts in the fuel. The engine needs oil, he says, and puts in its oil, right? And Allah Almighty created the human body as an engine, and whatever it needs, on earth He placed. Well, if man knows what an engine he made needs — if it's an electric motor, if he knows it needs cables, if he puts carbon brushes in it — right? Well, if it's single-phase he runs it from one (?), if three-phase from three (?) he runs it, sets its revolutions accordingly — if man shapes that engine that way, well, Allah too, being the Creator, whatever we need He brought to the world and placed there.

Yes. Not what we asked for, mind you. But we perceive it that way. Since the real ending is wrong, since it's even more wrong, we (?) there anyway. Since Allah Almighty is the Creator, what people will need He knows, so He has placed all of people's needs in the world. Therefore, if people tried to count the blessings Allah Almighty has given, they could not count them. Because they do not know what He created for what. Allah Almighty has created for people many more blessings that people do not know. So, although Allah placed all of people's needs on the earth, people turn their backs on their Lord who meets these needs.

They eat and drink with relish what He gives, but remembering Allah Almighty, to Him they do not give thanks. And on top of that, they set up partners to Allah.

They attribute the blessings Allah gave to idols they made with their hands.

They deny Allah, through whom they meet all their needs of eating and drinking. Truly, in this situation man becomes very unjust and ungrateful toward his own self, toward his own self. What does it matter if you are unjust to me? At most you kill me.

If I'm good, I go to Paradise. If I'm bad, I take my due from you (?) and am relieved. But what a person does to himself, even if the whole world came together, could not do. If from his nafs he denied Allah, (?) Him, if Allah's commands he did not carry out, he takes eternal Hell upon his back — and this, what he does to his own self, no one could do. Yes.
