“If you were among those who say the truth, you would have to bring angels to us.”
Tafsir
Whenever Allah sends a Prophet to guide people, they either ridicule the Prophets or say, "Bring us angels." But even if angels come to them and Allah brings all kinds of miracles in front of their eyes, those who dictate their fate badly, those who want their own desires and wishes from Allah as rebels, will certainly not be able to say, "Allah! However, even if angels come to them and Allah brings all kinds of miracles in front of their eyes, those who dictate their fate badly, who want their own desires and wishes rebelliously from Allah, will certainly not be able to say Allah or believe in Allah. Not only do they not believe in Allah, but they will mock those who say Allah among themselves with contempt.
These people spoke to the Prophet (PBUH) just like the people who perished, saying that since you are a Prophet, why didn't you bring angels with you when you came to us as a Prophet?
What is said in the video
To Surah Al-Hijr, verse 7 we have come. If you were among the truthful, you should have brought us the angels, it says. Who says this? The polytheists. The polytheists say it. You should have brought the angels. And Allah Almighty, in His verse, says: had We wished, We would have let angels down from the sky and made you prostrate, He says. After making us prostrate by force like that, what need would there be to create us, of our own will, to know His Essence — of our own will? I will create a being, He says, that, without My interfering at all, will know Me by its own will, He says. It will recognize Me as its Lord.
So He gives a portion of His Spirit. In that spirit there are glory, fame, pride, arrogance, ego, grandeur and worldly desire. Seven traits. A seven-headed monster.
If a person breaks glory, fame, pride, arrogance, ego and grandeur, but leaves worldly desire alone, through this worldly desire six heads of this seven-headed monster come back to life. But if he breaks only worldly desire in his heart, the six heads break by themselves.
Yes.
So people — even if He brought the angels, says Allah Almighty, even if the dead We revived, He says — He would raise the dead too — if We revived them, they would not step outside their own destinies, He says. Nor will they believe in you, He says. Yes. Whenever Allah sends a prophet to people for guidance, people either mock the prophets or say, bring us the angels. Yet even if angels came to them, even if Allah brought before their eyes all kinds of miracles, those who had their destinies written badly, who of their own desire and wish asked to be rebellious against Allah, would certainly not be able to say Allah, or would not believe in Allah.
So with the Prophet (peace be upon him) too, these people spoke like the people who were destroyed. Since you are a prophet, when you came to us as a prophet, you should have brought along some of the angels too, they said. Yes.
