Vow to that; We have sent Messengers before you, who were also from amongst their nations.
Tafsir
Allah (swt) did not send people to a realm of the unseen and leave them adrift. He has surrounded and encompassed them in every aspect and explained His existence to people completely. But because people were in heedlessness and treachery, they did not listen to the Truth and take their place with the Truth.
So, Allah swears by His Essence that before you, that is, before the Prophet (pbuh) came into the world, between our father Adam and the Prophet (pbuh), according to a narration, one hundred and twenty-four thousand Prophets came and went. Their numbers are known to Allah. With these Prophets, Allah warned the people and shone a light before them with His Prophets to prevent them from evil and invite them to salvation. But these people, in whose hearts there was rebellion and doubt at first, did not turn to the Truth, following every stubborn devil.
What is said in the video
Surah Al-Hijr, verse 10. Surah Al-Hijr. Indeed, among the nations before you too We sent messengers, He says. According to one narration, Allah Almighty, since our father Adam, has sent 124,000 prophets, He makes known. That is, that is how it is told to us. There is no such definite number in the Quran. But according to what is reported, either from the prophets or from some religious elders — I mean, by our Lord Himself made known to some people — they say that 124,000 prophets came, which is true. Remember, He says: We sent some men to the peoples. Yes. If, together with these, the people He calls those men are also counted, 124,000 prophets came, they say. What does He say now?
Indeed, among the nations before you too We sent messengers. Allah Almighty did not send people to a lost world and leave them aimless. Indeed, He limited our intellect. And He sent us into a world we do not know.
And besides, He made us needy, with eating and drinking.
Besides, He placed a responsibility on us with our wives and children. With our family members. In this case, just as to educate a child we send it to school, Allah Almighty too, to light up the way before people, so that in their lives they do not suffer hardship, sends them messengers. He tells them how to behave. To some by speech, by revelation, to others with both revelation and books, He makes it known. Yes, in this case Allah Almighty, since He made people honoured above the worlds and sent them to a (?) world, before people (?) messengers He has sent. Because Allah Almighty does not intend injustice for His creatures.
Yes, embracing them from every side and surrounding them, He has made His existence known to people completely. He has held a light before people in every way, told them how to behave, told them how they are to be governed with justice, told their responsibilities within the family, and explained to people their lives in a way that would spread a festive air on earth. But man, carried away by the feelings of the nafs and Satan's temptation, never gives up drenching the earth in blood, and although he knows that Allah is a god who created this universe, knowingly, his nafs-driven feelings drag him toward the fire prepared for the unbelievers.
But since people are in hardness of heart and treachery, they have not listened to the Truth and taken their place beside the Truth. So Allah Almighty, by saying with an oath by His Being "indeed, before you" — that is, before the Prophet (peace be upon him) honoured the world, between our father Adam and the Prophet (peace be upon him), according to one narration, 124,000 prophets came and went. Their numbers are manifest to Allah. With these prophets Allah warned people; to keep them from evil and invite them to salvation, through their prophets He held a light before them. But these people, in whose hearts there was rebellion and doubt from the outset, following every stubborn devil, did not turn to the Truth.
These people, in whose hearts there was rebellion and doubt from the outset. Who are they? At the address "Elestü bi-Rabbiküm", while making the covenant with Allah Almighty, although knowing Allah as his creator, he saw the Lord before him who created him as being like himself; a captive of the feelings of the nafs, of pride and arrogance, he did not recognise Allah Almighty as Creator and waited for a Lord he had (?) in his own imagination, and so denied Allah — those people. Yes. These people will not turn to the Truth either, in proportion to their covenants.
