Tafsir
In Islam, manners, decency and etiquette are among the main rules of Islam. In Islam, covering oneself, covering one's private parts, respecting the elders and loving the little ones increase the faith in our hearts.
Children are the elders of tomorrow, who bear the future of a nation and the survival of that nation. In this respect, children should be raised very well. They should be taught manners, etiquette and Islamic rules and these morals should be imparted to them. It is the duty of parents first and foremost, and then of elders, to raise children with strong character and confident morals. In order for these children to have this moral virtue, they should fulfill Allah's commandment on us with good morals, without seeing the private parts of their parents and without showing their private parts to anyone. If we fulfill Allah's command on us, we will not only preserve our honor and dignity, but we will also receive Allah's mercy by fulfilling Allah's command. It is for this reason that our parents, who live Islam, separate the rooms of boys and girls when they are young, and make them sleep in separate rooms.
When these children grow up, when they are of sound mind, they should not enter their parents' bedrooms indiscriminately, but they should do as their predecessors did, that is, their older brothers, sisters, and those under the care of their parents, when they call their parents, they should call out three times or knock lightly on the door, and if there is no sound from inside or if they are told to go back, they should go back, and these children should do the same, and they should not enter their parents' bedrooms without permission. It is one of the obligations and moral rules of our religion to call out three times from behind the doors of the bedrooms before entering them. It is also an order of Allah (swt) on people. When our private parts are exposed, we are protected from being exposed to others, even if they are close to us, saving us from being ridiculed or humiliated, in which case we are protected from being exposed.
This is how Allah (swt) explains His Verses to us and protects our honor and dignity. Because Allah is the All-Knowing. He is omniscient and sovereign. He guides people with the most correct decisions. He is also the Master of all that He has created and He is omnipotent.
What is said in the video
Of Surah An-Nur, we have come to verse 59.
When your children reach puberty, just as those before them, the elders, asked permission, let them also ask permission. Thus Allah explains His verses to you. Allah is All-Knowing, All-Wise. So what does it say here? When children reach puberty, just as those before them, the elders – as the elders ask permission – let them also ask permission. That is, when they will enter rooms, those children being in puberty. For example, a girl has reached puberty, come of age; of course you cannot just enter her room like that. Is she uncovered or covered, what is what, who knows. Children feel ashamed. In Islam, upbringing, manners and propriety are among the main rules of Islam.
In Islam, covering oneself, covering one's private parts, respecting elders and showing love to the young increase the faith in our hearts.
Children are tomorrow's elders, who will carry a nation's future and its survival. Therefore children must be raised very well. They must be made to observe manners and propriety, the rules of Islam, and these morals must be given to them. Raising children morally, with sound character and self-confidence, is a duty first of mothers and fathers, then of elders. So that these children can have this moral virtue, without seeing their mother's and father's private parts, and without themselves showing their private parts to anyone, Allah's command upon us must be fulfilled with good morals. If we fulfil Allah's command upon us, we both preserve our honour and dignity and, by fulfilling Allah's commands, we will have attained Allah's mercy. That is why our mothers and fathers who live Islam, while the children are still young, separate the rooms of boys and girls and have them sleep in separate rooms.
When these children grow up and come of age, without entering their mother's and father's bedrooms at random, just like those before them – that is, their older brothers and sisters, those under the authority of their mother and father – who, when calling their mother and father, call out three times or knock lightly on the door, and if no sound comes from inside or they are told to go back, go back, these children must do exactly the same and not enter their mother's and father's bedrooms without permission. Calling out three times from behind the doors of bedrooms before entering them is among the obligations of our religion and its moral rules.
At the same time it is the command of Allah Almighty upon people. When our private parts are uncovered, even toward our relatives, we are saved from being made ridiculous or humiliated, and thus we are protected from being exposed to those around us. Also, here, showing its private parts to its mother and father, the child feels ashamed. This shame disappears over time; then for it there is no harm in its private parts being seen by others either.
Thus Allah Almighty explains His verses to us. He preserves our honour and dignity. Because Allah is All-Knowing. He knows everything and is All-Wise. With the most right decisions He brings guidance to people. He also governs what is possible for His creatures, and He has power over all things.
