And for women who do not have the hope of marrying again and who cannot bear children anymore there is no sin to take off (some) clothes without revealing their ornaments (to strangers). It is better for them if they act in chastity. Allah is Samee (All-Hearing) and Aleem (All-Knowing).
Tafsir
There is nothing wrong with old women who have no hope of marriage, who have lost their children, or who are in a state where they do not attract men and do not arouse lust, if they remove some of their clothes. Even if these people are in a state of nafs, their well-being comes first, and some of their clothes may cause them distress because of their old age and their inability to move freely. In this case, Allah (swt) does not intend cruelty to people, so He allows such people some freedom. Nevertheless, while granting them this freedom, it is better for them if they are careful not to show their adornments and if they behave chastely.
If these elderly women do not show their adornments to foreign men, but they are in a position to expose their adornments among their own relatives, it will cause a moral decline in the family and cause the next generation to grow up in an immoral way. Therefore, there is nothing wrong for these women to remove some of their libras or head coverings among themselves in accordance with Islamic decency and etiquette, except in the case of physical illnesses and ailments. Nevertheless, it is more acceptable and better in the sight of Allah that they preserve their chastity.
Allah is the Hearer, the Knower. Because Allah is the One who has programmed all these worlds, who knows what even the particles will do, from the mote to the sphere, including the matter, and who knows what the people who will come until the Day of Judgment will say and do. There is nothing hidden for Allah. The darkness of the night and the light of the day are the same in the sight of Allah.
What is said in the video
We have come to Surah An-Nur, verse 60.
For elderly women past childbearing who have no hope of marriage, provided they do not display their adornments to strange men, in taking off some of their garments there is no sin. It is better for them to behave chastely. Allah is All-Hearing, All-Knowing.
I came to know people corresponding to this verse, one person. I was a child then.
There was a poor old woman in our neighbourhood, elderly. She would feel stifled. She would uncover herself somewhat. But she would not uncover her private parts. Some things – for example, her head would be uncovered. Because she feels stifled. Well, for example, she throws off her shawl. But her private parts are covered. That is such a state. For the elderly. They do not, in terms of lust, throw a spark at people. They don't give one. And one also feels pity for them. To people in this state too, how beautiful a verse Allah Almighty sends. Elderly women past childbearing who have no hope of marriage, who do not attract men to themselves and are in a state that does not arouse lust, there is no sin for them in taking off some of the garments they wear.
I explain this verse the way I myself saw it. Even if these people still have carnal feelings, since their health comes first, some garments oppress them because of old age, and since they cannot move freely they cause distress. In this case, since Allah Almighty does not will injustice to people, to such people He grants a freedom. Still, while granting this freedom, He states that if they take care that their adornments are not seen and behave chastely, it is better for them. For example, their legs below the knee may be visible. Below the knee. Because they are not after lust. A little of the throat part of the chest or so – she can't fully open it anyway.
The rest is covered. Her head – she feels a bit stifled. Because Allah Almighty knows such people, He grants them a little freedom, but still He says: if they behave Islamically, it is better for them, He says. He states that if they behave chastely it is better for them. That is, even if these elderly ladies do not show their adornments to strange men, if among their own relatives they were in a position to display their adornments, among the family it would cause moral decay among the family and cause the next generation to grow up immoral. Therefore, apart from these ladies' bodily illnesses and ailments, in accordance with Islamic manners and propriety, in taking off some of their garments or headscarves among themselves there is no sin. Even so, preserving their chastity is, in Allah's sight, more acceptable and better.
Allah Almighty is All-Hearing, All-Knowing. Because Allah has programmed all these worlds, from the atom to the globe, matter included; He knows what even the atoms will do, and He knows what the people who will come until Doomsday will say and do. Nothing is hidden for Allah. The pitch darkness of night and the brightness of day are the same before Allah.
