Translation

The hell has seven gates. For each of those gates, a part has been assigned.

Tafsir

Allah says in one of His Verses that Hell has nineteen gates. In this verse, seven gates are mentioned. These seven gates mean seven layers. Just as people have seven states of soul. Paradise is also seven heavens. The eighth heavenly station is Mahmud. It is a station reserved for the Prophet (s.a.w.). Hell is also seven layers. In this case, every soul has a hell according to its condition.

The first of these is Hawiyah, the Muslims who will be punished here as sinners.

Secondly, the hell called Sakar is for the Jews.

Third, the hell called Sa'ir is for Christians.

Fourth, the hell called Jahim is for the Sabians (star worshippers).

Fifth, the hell called Leza is for the pagans.

Sixth: Hell, called Hutameh, is for idolaters.

The seventh hell, which is called by many names, is for the hypocrites.

For these there is a gate to each hell. Each soul determines its own place with the characters given to it by each state and with these characters, and when they pass on to the Hereafter, they will be dragged to Hell according to their degrees in return for the evils they have done.

Surah Al-Hijr, verse 44

Allah Almighty, in Surah Al-Hijr, verse 44, in the verse: Hell has seven gates. For each gate among them a group has been assigned. Group. What is meant by the groups here: the nafs has seven states. The seven states of the nafs. Just as in Paradise there are seven paradises, the eighth paradise, Maqam Mahmud, is a place reserved for the Prophet. But Paradise is seven paradises. According to the state of the nafs: just as there are paradises of nafs-i emmare, nafs-i levvame, nafs-i mülhime, nafs-i mutmainne, nafs-i radiye, nafs-i marziye, nafs-i safiye, Hell too has seven parts. And in the lowest layer, sir, it is for idol worshippers.

The lowest layer is for the hypocrites. The sixth layer is for idol worshippers.

Yes.

Hell has seven gates. For each gate among them a group has been assigned. The groups will enter Hell according to the seven states of the nafs. Allah Almighty says in a verse that Hell has nineteen gates. In this verse, however, seven gates are mentioned. These seven gates mean seven layers; indeed the verse also says: in groups. Just as people have seven states of the nafs, Paradise is seven paradises, the eighth paradise is Maqam Mahmud. It is a station reserved for the Prophet (peace be upon him). Hell too is seven layers. In that case there is a Hell for each state of the nafs. According to each state of the nafs.

The first of these is Hawiyah. The name of the first Hell is Hawiyah. It is for those Muslims who, as sinners, will be punished there. Hawiyah. That is, the lightest part of the prison, let's say. Or the lightest part of the place of torment. In Surah Al-Baqarah, verse 24, it says: you, in Hell, it says, the fire for the disbelievers that has been prepared, do not go toward it, it says. So Muslims, in the Hell called Hawiyah, that is, in the lightest place of torment, will suffer their punishment and go to Paradise. The second, the Hell called Saqar, is for the Jews. The third, the Hell called Sa'ir, is for the Christians.

The fourth, the Hell called Jahim, is for the Sabians, those who worship the stars. The fifth, the Hell called Laza, is for the fire worshippers. The sixth, the Hell called Hutamah, is for the idol worshippers. The seventh Hell, known by many names, is for the hypocrites. So for these, each Hell has its own gate. It is the characters that each state of the nafs gives them, and with these characters determining their own particular place, and when they pass on to the hereafter, as recompense for the evils they committed, according to their degrees, into Hell they are dragged.

Yes.

Yes. We return to our lesson. Our lesson. Our lesson.

I guess, I have the feeling that there are probably some saying, Hodja, could you count these seven Hells once more, there are some saying it. I will count these seven Hells for you again.

The first is the Hell called Hawiyah, which, for Muslims, is the prepared place of punishment of those who are sinners. Here, in this Hell, that is, in the (?) fire, they cannot burn. Because Allah Almighty states it in His verse too: you, toward the fire prepared for the disbelievers, do not go, it says. Yes, the second, the Hell called Saqar, is for the Jews. The third, the Hell called Sa'ir, is for the Christians. The fourth, the Hell called Jahim, is for the Sabians, that is, the star worshippers. The fifth, the Hell called Laza, is for the fire worshippers. The sixth, the Hell called Hutamah, is for the idol worshippers.

The seventh Hell, known by many names, is for the hypocrites. So for these, each Hell has its own layer. Each group, according to the state of the seven nafs, each group
