And verily, My punishment is a severe punishment.
Tafsir
Allah (swt) informs His servants through the Prophet (s.a.w.) that His torment is a painful torment. If people cannot bear the slightest torment in this world, how will they bear it in Hell? The painfulness of the torment is a torment that will be seen in a continuous and endless eternal life. That is the torment that is painful. What beautiful promises and advice Allah gives to mankind through His Prophet, whom He sent to bring good tidings of Paradise and fear of Hell, and through the Qur'an, which is a source of guidance and light for all mankind. It tells people to fear Allah (swt).
What is said in the video
Surah Al-Hijr, we have come to verse 50.
And inform them that My punishment is a painful punishment, it says. Painful. There is punishment and punishment. Someone pulls your ear, it hurts. There is punishment where someone hits your hand with a fist, it hurts there. Well, this is not such a punishment. A painful punishment. For example, a part of you is cut, and you press salt into it. Take your pick of pains. And this goes on. And this, too, remains light next to this painful punishment. That is, you go into a fire. Into the fire. In that fire, in that heat, your whole body is scorched, becomes like coal, and you faint from that pain.
They take you out. After a few seconds your body cracks like parched earth. Underneath, a brand-new skin comes out. A (?) white skin comes out, and when you rise to come back to life, when you revive, they again take you and throw you into that fire of Hell. Is this not a painful punishment? That is, painful, a continuation of pains. Allah Almighty informs the Prophet (peace be upon him) that the punishment for His servants, that His punishment is a painful punishment. When people cannot bear the slightest punishment in worldly life, how will they bear that punishment in Hell? The punishment being painful: it is constant, endless, inexhaustible, a punishment one will see within an eternal life.
A punishment that does not end gives a person pain. With the Prophet He sent to people as a bearer of good news of Paradise and a warner of Hell, and with the Quran, a source of guidance and light for all of humankind, Allah gives people such beautiful promises and counsel. It makes known that people should be wary of Allah Almighty. Yes, a painful punishment. An endless, unceasing punishment within an endless, unceasing life. So people in Hell: O Malik, tell your Lord that Allah, from us - that is, your Lord, from us - he says your Lord. He does not say Allah. He cannot say our Lord either. Let your Lord lighten the punishment on us a little.
Yes. Instead of saying that there, if while in the world, making use of the treasure of lifetime that Allah Almighty has given you, you once said Allah, and said that there is no god but Him, Lâ ilâhe illallah Muhammedün Resulullah, you would settle your affair. Merely saying Lâ ilâhe illallah does not settle it. Even the unbeliever sometimes says Lâ ilâhe illallah. But he does not accept Muhammad (peace be upon him) as a prophet. They deceive people very skilfully with these word games. Whoever says Lâ ilâhe illallah enters Paradise, they say. How nice. With the fabricated words of the Christian world they are trying to deceive people.
