They said; “We are assigned to (destroy) a guilty nation.
Tafsir
The angels replied: "We have been sent to destroy a guilty people." This people is the people of Prophet Lut (peace be upon him). Hearing the name of Hadrat Lot, Ibrahim (peace be upon him) was very sad and prayed to Allah. Because Hazrat Ibrahim (peace be upon him) loved Hazrat Lot (peace be upon him) very much. They were both Prophets who lived in the same era. In this regard, he prays to Allah that nothing will happen to Lot.
What is said in the video
They say: we have been sent to a guilty people to destroy them, to the people of Lot. Lot is the cousin of Abraham. Together they left Urfa. After Nimrod threw into the fire Abraham, after Nimrod threw him into the fire, Allah Almighty said to the fire: be safe and (?), and after he came out of that fire, they left Urfa together. And Lot, too, was sent to such an insolent, homosexual people as a prophet.
The angels answered: we were sent to destroy a criminal people. This people is the people of Lot (peace be upon him).
