Lot (peace be upon him), his anguish, that his guests have come to him, and because of the evils that will be done to them he is helpless against his people and cannot save them, in that anguish, can you feel those feelings? Lot (peace be upon him) does not know that they are angels. And what does he say to them? Lot (peace be upon him) said: surely you are an unknown group. That is, you are strangers here. You do not know what kind of morals this place has. And you have come to me as guests. And I am helpless with regard to you. If only there were a pen against an evil that will be done to you, he says.
