(Lot) said; “Indeed, they are my guests. Now, don’t make me ashamed.”
Tafsir
The people of the city, who mistook the angels for human beings, gathered in front of the door of Hadrat Lut 'alaihis-salâm' and asked him for these angels. Hadrat Lot 'alaihis-salâm', although he knew that he could not tell his people anything in desperation, said: "O my people! These are my guests. Don't disgrace me in front of my guests, don't embarrass me.
If a guest comes to a person and takes shelter in his house, to encroach on that guest from outside is like encroaching on the owner of that house. In this respect, Hadrat Lot 'alaihis-salâm' said, "These are my guests. I am obliged to protect them, do you have no respect for each other, what do these guests say, there is no security of life and property in such and such a city, they have no respect and love for each other, they are a people who want to get what they want by uniting with their egoistic feelings, they do not care about the honor and dignity of even their own nation, they raid their houses and homes and do what they want. O my people! He said, "Fear Allah and go.
What is said in the video
He becomes very anxious, he is seized by fears. Lot said: Indeed, they are my guests. So do not disgrace me, he says.
Yes.
Lot (peace be upon him), in verse 68, said: Indeed, they are my guests. So do not disgrace me. When a guest comes to a home, he is the honour and dignity of that home. This is how it is in the religion of Islam. For this reason our people, our people, Muslims, to the guests who come to their homes show the care that is due. The people of the city, who took the angels for humans, in front of the door of Lot (peace be upon him) gathered and demanded these angels from Lot (peace be upon him). Lot (peace be upon him), however, in his helplessness, although he knew he could not get through to his people: O my people, these are my guests.
Do not disgrace me in front of my guests. Do not shame me, he says.
If a person, a guest, comes and takes refuge in someone's home, then to that guest an assault from outside counts as an assault on the master of that home. For this reason Lot (peace be upon him) [said]: These are my guests, I am obliged to protect them; have you no respect for one another? Will these guests not say: In such-and-such a city there is no safety of life and property, they have no respect and love for one another; a people who, united in the desires of the nafs, want to get what they want, who do not respect even the honour and dignity of their own nation, who raid houses and homes and do what they want?
O my people, fear Allah and go, he said. Go. He tried to plead with them in every way, tried to persuade them with all kinds of words. But once a person (?) (?) You can make neither the deaf nor the dead understand.
