Al-Hijr 69: “And fear Allah, do not humiliate me.”

Translation

“And fear Allah, do not humiliate me.”

Tafsir

O my people, do not violate the rights of these guests and embarrass me. In that case, fear Allah and do not touch my guests. However, Hazrat Lot knew very well that he was not in a position to speak to this unruly people, no matter how much he tried. This is why Hadrat Lut 'alaihis-salâm' is burning inside because of the evil that will be done to his guests.

Verse 69: And fear Allah, do not shame me, he says. O my people, do not violate the rights of these guests and shame me. In this situation, fear Allah and do not touch my guests, he said. But although Lot (?), he was in no position to get through to this unruly people, and he himself knew this very well. So Lot (peace be upon him), because of the evil about to be done to his guests, is burning up inside.
