Translation

And The vengeance occured. They, in fact, took revenge (from their own nafs (self-ego) by transgressing against the Truth). Ruins of both of these nations are still in display, clear to see (of people’s eyes).

Tafsir

They did not believe in Allah and the Hereafter, so Allah destroyed them too. These were cruel people who wronged their own souls. They worshipped idols, betrayed trusts, and were deficient in weighing. Their warnings did not affect them and they never compromised on what they knew. They were deaf to the Word of Truth and did not believe in Allah and the Hereafter. These were the blind, the deaf and those whose hearts were sealed, the people who transgressed the limits of Allah.

Allah did not take revenge on them, because Allah is kind and merciful to His creatures. Every soul that transgresses Allah's laws takes revenge on its own soul. This people transgressed the limits set by Allah. Allah (swt), in His attribute of justice, takes vengeance on the souls of the people for transgressing the limits by committing crimes. Allah repays everyone for what he earns.

They are also on an open road. It is between Palestine and Medina. They are also following in the footsteps of the tribes that perished, despite seeing so much evidence.

What is said in the video

Al-Hijr, on page 261, which verse was it? Verse 79. Verse 79. Yes. Yes.

The wrong way the verse is interpreted is this: "We took revenge on them too. Both, Al-Aykah and Madyan, lie on an open road," it says.

Now pay attention. "We took revenge on them too." Allah takes revenge on no one. If Allah had taken revenge, He would have acted out of feelings of the nafs. Plus, plus, if Allah had taken revenge, destroying those He was angry with, destroying those He was angry with, He would have acted out of feelings of the nafs.

Taking revenge would also mean that, you know, He could not overpower them and, finding an opportunity, took revenge on them. These attributes (?) to Allah; rather, they took revenge on their own nafs. Since each person's own wish and desire, their intention, became their destiny, that person dragged himself to destruction by his own wish and desire. So here Allah did not take revenge. He took revenge on his own nafs. Yes. This is how the verses have all been wrongly interpreted. Attributes have been ascribed to Allah.

My phone is announcing that it is isha, that it is isha. Isha, its adhan has begun, it says, the prayer.

So for verse 79 we have put only the correct version here. "They took revenge on their own nafs. Both, Al-Aykah and Madyan, lie on an open road." Because they too did not believe in Allah and the Hereafter, Allah Almighty destroyed these peoples too. These peoples are wrongdoing peoples who wronged their own nafs. They worshipped idols, betrayed trusts, and cheated on the scales. Warnings had no effect on them; they never budged from what they knew. Their ears were closed to the word of truth; they did not believe in Allah and the Hereafter. These are the blind, the deaf, and those whose hearts are sealed.

They were peoples who overstepped Allah's limits. Yes. Allah Almighty did not take revenge on them. For Allah is compassionate and merciful toward His creatures. What does it say? Had Allah Almighty taken revenge on them, it would run counter to this verse of His. What is the verse? "My mercy has surpassed My wrath," it says. Yes. "On earth My mercy has surpassed My wrath." So if His mercy has surpassed His wrath, where does this idea of Allah taking revenge on people come from here? And with what head, what reason, what Arabic do you make this fit when you say it?

Allah Almighty did not take revenge on them, for Allah is compassionate and merciful toward His creatures. Every nafs that oversteps the laws of Allah Almighty takes revenge on its own self. This people overstepped the limits set by Allah. Through Allah Almighty's attribute of justice, as people commit crimes and overstep the limits, it is what their own nafs takes from their own (?), a revenge. Allah is the One who gives everyone the full return of what they earned. They too lie on an open road. It is between Palestine and Medina. Moreover, despite seeing so much evidence, they lie on the trail of the peoples that were destroyed.
