In safety, they were carving out houses from the mountains for their dwelling.
Tafsir
Allah (swt) created these people very strong and powerful, tall, like pillars. Because they were strong and powerful, they would carve rocks in the mountains and build houses and palaces. They would feel safe there. Unless man takes refuge in the mercy of Allah, he is not safe anywhere. Only Allah's mercy protects man and makes him safe. To earn this, obedience to Allah is necessary.
This people despaired of Allah, and in defiance of Allah, they killed the camel which Allah had shown as a miracle.
What is said in the video
will not leave this unanswered. Yes. "They used to carve out of the mountains houses in which they would be safe," it says. Out of the mountains. Allah Almighty created these people very strong and powerful, tall like pillars. Being strong and powerful, they would carve into the rocks in the mountains and make houses and palaces. They felt safe there. As long as man does not take refuge in Allah's mercy, he is safe nowhere. Only Allah's mercy protects man and takes him into its safety. And to earn this, obedience to Allah is needed. So this people, having lost hope in Allah and also defying Allah, killed Allah's camel, which He had shown as a miracle.
And so Allah Almighty destroyed them.
