Translation
Thus, can the One (Allah) Who creates (from nothing), be the same as the one who cannot create (idols)? Do you not think!
Tafsir
Can Allah, Who created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them out of nothing and created all that exists, ever be equated with the created and those who do not even know of Him? They are also God's creations.
So is Allah the Creator to be abandoned and inanimate objects, which do not even know themselves, to be worshipped? Can Allah the Creator be compared to His creation and turn away from Allah? Can man abandon the blessing of reason that Allah has given him and follow his nafs and lead himself to destruction? In this situation, does man still not think and contemplate and turn to his Lord?
What is said in the video
Yes, in verse 17 of Surah An-Nahl, Allah Almighty now makes a comparison. "Is then Allah, who creates, like the idols that do not create? Do you still not reflect?" it says. What a beautiful comparison it makes. So then, is Allah who creates, Allah who brings into being from nothing, like the idols that do not create? They too, those idols you worship, are servants created by Allah. Allah's creations, unaware of themselves; people who, with their own hands, (?) them and, according to their own minds, put their Lord, their spirits into them and worship them — poor people, foolish people. Yes.
Allah, who brought the heavens and the earth and what is between them into being from nothing and created all these beings — is He ever held equal to what is created and to what is not even aware of Him? They too are beings created by Allah. On the Day of Judgment Allah Almighty will call them, the idols, the idols they worshipped. "Was it you who told them: we are your god —" "O Allah, You too are witness," they will say; they will be given speech. "We had no knowledge even of ourselves, and of their worshipping us we had no knowledge either." They will move away from there, and people will be called to account for what they did.
So then, is Allah who creates abandoned, and are lifeless objects not even aware of themselves worshipped? Is Allah the Creator compared with what He created, and is Allah turned away from? Does a person abandon the blessing of reason Allah gave, follow his nafs, and drag himself to destruction? In this case, will man still not think, reflect and return to his Lord? Related.
