Translation

And from what We have given to them as provisions, they set aside a share for things (idols) they do not know about. Vow to Allah; you will be questioned regarding the things that you make slanders about.

Tafsir

These ungrateful people slander Allah and allocate to their idols a share of the sustenance that Allah has given to the pagans and those who do not believe in Allah and the Hereafter, as if Allah has partners to whom Allah will give an account.

Before Islam, some people used to divide some of their crops and livestock between Allah and their idols, saying, 'This is Allah's share and this is our idols' share. What they set aside for Allah they spent on guests and the poor, and what they set aside for their idols they spent on occasions such as rituals in their presence.

Allah (swt) refers to idols with the verse in which He says that they do not know their nature, and although people do not know the secrets of their creation as matter, people shape these materials that are offered to the service of people and allocate shares to them and worship them as gods. He says they are serving them.

(Those who slander Allah by associating partners with Him, those who invent religions according to their own minds, as if there were religions other than Allah's religion, and those who worship those religions which they have invented, Those who do not believe in Allah and the Hereafter, those who pursue what their ego likes, Allah (swt) is addressing such people by saying, "You will surely be questioned," and by threatening them with the truth.

What is said in the video

Yes, Surah An-Nahl, verse 56: And of what was given them as provision, to things whose nature they do not know, to idols, they set aside a share. By Allah, by Allah, for what you have been inventing you will surely be called to account; this is their slandering of Allah Almighty. Of the provisions Allah Almighty gives to idolaters, to those who do not believe in Allah and the hereafter, these ungrateful people, slandering Allah, slandering, as if Allah had partners He must answer to, from the provisions Allah has given these people they give a share to idols. That is: this is my idol's due. If this one's idol does not give, Allah will be responsible, that is.

(?) or they make certain wishes of them. Whereas, within Allah's own destiny, what our Lord gave him in answer to that wish, from that event, saying "my idol gave it", they set aside, sir, some shares for it. Before Islam, some people would divide part of their crops and animals between Allah and the idols, and "this is Allah's share, this is our idols' share" was said. What they set aside for Allah they spent on guests and the poor. And what they set aside for idols, on occasions such as rites performed in their presence, they would spend. So Allah Almighty, with the verse in which He says "whose nature they do not know", meaning idols, declares: although people do not know their creation as matter or their secrets, people shape these materials offered to their service and set aside shares for them. They worship them as gods.

They serve them. By Allah, for what you have been inventing you will surely be called to account. Those who slander Allah by associating partners with Allah Almighty, those who, as if there were a religion other than Allah's, make up religions by their own minds, who worship these religions they made up, who do not believe in Allah and the hereafter, who chase what their nafs likes: Allah Almighty, addressing such people, swearing by His own being, by an oath that surely, yes, "you will be called to account"; with this, too, He threatens them and rightly warns them. (?) at the Resurrection, Allah Almighty; those idols will come too.

They will be made to speak.

Allah Almighty will ask: Did you say, "I am their god"? And the idols will say: God forbid, we knew nothing of this. We are unaware even of ourselves, they will say. Then they will vanish, and these mindless, ignorant idolaters, those who associate partners with Allah, because they did not use their minds, in wrongdoing, in the eternal abode of Hell, their nafs subjected to torment, (?). May Allah protect us all from such an end, and grant us all the source of guidance, His being, the quality of being a servant to Him and the ummah of His beloved, and in the hereafter, so that we attain the most beautiful stations, the highest stations, may He make our worldly life flourish and grant and ease our passage to the hereafter.
