Translation
Vow to Allah; We had sent to nations before you (Prophets) as well. But devil (shaytan) made their deeds appear attractive to them (and they did not believe). And today, he is their patron. And there is a severe punishment for them.
Tafsir
Even though Allah swears by His Essence and made the truth known to the people through the Prophets He had sent to the previous nations, the devil made the people who disbelieved in Allah adorn their disbelief. He flattered their nafs and gave them pride and greatness. He drove them away from faith by making themselves great. In addition, the evil deeds of these people were also made to seem ornate to them and they did not believe in Allah. They followed Satan and their ego. They did not follow Allah and His Prophets.
Shaytan is the guardian of those people who are thrown into hell with Shaytan after the Day of Reckoning. Those who are subject to the devil in this world, the devil is their guardian in hell in the Hereafter. Because the devil is the orator of hell.
Whether it is the devil or the people who follow him, for them is a painful torment in Hell.
What is said in the video
We have now come to verse 63 of Surah An-Nahl.
By Allah, He says. Allah swears by His own essence. We sent prophets also to the communities before you. Since our father Adam, Allah Almighty has not left people unattended; He made His essence known to them, and messengers, prophets, and in their work the scholars He described as men, and worked to guide people. But Satan made their deeds seem fair to them, so they did not believe. And when Satan said to Allah Almighty, I will sit in front of Your servants who come to You and keep them from coming to You, Allah Almighty said: if those servants of Mine follow you, then take them, He says, I have given them to you.
Yes. What does this mean? (?) when, in that address Elestü bi Rabbiküm, with Allah Almighty they made a covenant, these, people: because they had their own desires and wishes, their aims, written for themselves as destiny, and so will never again return to Allah, Satan comes over them as their guide; instead of surrendering themselves to Allah, these people surrender to Satan. And following Satan's tracks, they take Satan as a friend over them. So what does Allah Almighty say? But when Satan made their deeds seem fair to them, they did not believe. Caressing their carnal feelings in worldly life, distracting people with their children and dependents, their wealth and property, and by making, apart from Allah's verses, the whims of their nafs look beautiful to them, he made the world and their nafs seem fair to them, and these people moved away from faith.
Aren't there such people today? Plenty. People like the whims of the nafs. People like walking around stark naked. In this case, when Allah is mentioned, as a result of their believing — since the faith in their hearts has shrunk to the size of a pinhead, they go through a crisis. They don't even want to hear the name of believing, of saying Allah. So he is their patron today, it says. Which day? Well, in this world he is their patron. And for them there is a painful punishment. In the Hereafter, too, he is at their head. And they say: we had followed you. Can you, they say, ward off the punishment from us a little?
By Allah, he says, I promised you, but I too, he says, turned out to be a liar. And for them, Allah Almighty says, there is a painful punishment. Yes. Allah Almighty, swearing by His essence: although through the prophets He sent to earlier communities He had the truth conveyed to people, to the people who denied Allah, Satan made their denial seem fair. By caressing their nafs, he gave them pride and grandeur. Making them appear great to themselves, he drove them away from faith. Moreover, the evils these people did also seemed fair to them. They did not believe in Allah. They followed Satan and their nafs.
They could not follow Allah and Allah's prophets. On that Day of Reckoning, in that Hereafter, in the world we (?), that is, after the Last Day breaks, when we are raised again in the Hereafter and our account is to be seen at the supreme court, after that Day of Reckoning, Satan is in the position of patron to these people who are cast into Hell together with Satan. Those who followed Satan while in the world, in the Hereafter too, in Hell, to Satan — Satan is their patron. They will follow Satan. For Satan is the preacher of Hell. Be it Satan, or the people who follow Satan, for them there is a painful punishment in Hell.
Yes.
We said that Satan, Satan, to man makes many promises in the world and deceives them. But if, as a result of this (?), man does not use his reason and goes after Satan, such people bring ruin on themselves. Yes.
