Allah has created you; then Allah will deal you death. Some of you will live a pitiful period in which they will come to know nothing after they were knowledgeable. Verily, Allah is Aleem (All-knowing) and Qadeer (All-Powerful).
Tafsir
Allah (swt) created our souls in the realm of Lahut, so in that sense Allah (swt) created you. Allah (swt) is referring to the creation of human beings before they took on the guise of a body, before they came to this world. That is why Allah says that He created you.
(Then He will make you pass away). With this Ayat-i Kerime, he has written our destinies for each of us in proportion to the covenant we have made with Allah (swt). He will make us live the life given to us within our destinies in the life of this world, and then he will make us pass away.
(Some of you will be made to live an evil age of life, so that they may become ignorant, whereas before they were knowledgeable). The meaning of "while they were knowledgeable" is that Allah (swt) introduced His Essence to human beings by saying, "I am your Lord", by being addressed by Allah (kalu bela). In this respect, since all human beings know that they have been created by one God, He makes His Word known to them while He was already knowledgeable. Continuing with the verse; (some of you will be given an evil age of life so that they will not know anything). Although Allah made Himself known to the people in the Kalu Bela, they betrayed Him and did not want to recognize Him. So Allah sent man to the realm of property, where His Essence is invisible, so that he would not know anything. Allah (swt) created our souls and after making a covenant with them, He lifted them to the world of Berzah, the waiting place of our souls. When the time comes for the soul to come to the worldly realm, He brings it to the realm of Jabbarrut, that is, to a place called the realm of nearness, and there He covers it with the light of Jabbarrut, that is, He veils it. More precisely, he locks that part of it like giving a password to a computer program so that it will forget that realm and will not know the events. Then he sends him to the angelic realm. There, too, he covers it with a disguise of angelic light. There, too, a part of the program is closed with a password. Then man comes to the realm of property without remembering anything from the hereafter. Then man begins to live his life in this world. When he says that some of you will live the worst age of your life, he means Muslims; the life of the world according to the hereafter is the worst age of life for a Muslim compared to heaven. There is a distinction here. When He says, "Some people will be given the worst age of their lives," He is making a distinction between the people of faith and the people of kufr.
The life of a Muslim in this world is the worst life of a believer in comparison to Paradise. Since the life of a disbeliever in this world is his paradise in the face of the torment and pain he will suffer in the Hereafter, Allah (swt) makes a distinction here, and by saying that the life of some people is the worst age of their life, He means the people of faith, and He declares that the life of this world is the worst life of the people of faith.
(Allah is knowledgeable and powerful). Allah is All-knowing because He knows His creatures best and He creates these events with His knowledge. He kills His creatures and resurrects them. It is not difficult for Allah to do this. In this respect, Allah is mighty. He is the one who fulfills his will.
What is said in the video
Surah An-Nahl, verse 70, a verse that has been wrongly interpreted. We will read you its correct version from here. First let us read you the wrong one. Allah created you — correct. Then He will cause you to die — that is correct too. So that, having known before, they come to know nothing, some of you will be made to live a bad stage of life. Here Allah Almighty, distinguishing among His servants — what is He saying now? So that, having known before, they come to know nothing, some of you will be made to live a bad stage of life. Since Allah does not discriminate among His servants, this part is wrong.
What do we say here? Allah created you, then He will cause you to die. According to the covenant they gave, having known before, they will come to know nothing. Some of you will live a bad stage of life. Some among you. Yes. Some of you will live a bad stage of life. According to what? According to the covenant they gave. Surely Allah is All-Knowing, All-Powerful. Yet with words Allah Almighty did not say, words by which people ascribe attributes to Allah, they write it like this: Allah created you, then He will cause you to die. These parts are right, right. Then: so that, having known, they come to know nothing, some of you will be made to live a bad stage of life.
Now, Allah does not discriminate among His servants and make people, let me say, live a bad life. That is, this is not something that can be. Surely Allah is All-Knowing, All-Powerful. This part is right. We read this as: according to the covenant they gave, according to the covenant people gave at Kalu Bela, having known before, they will come to know nothing. To some of you a bad stage of life — some of you will live a bad stage of life. Yes.
Now we come to our lesson. Having explained this part this way, we continue explaining the verses.
Allah created you, it says. Not only us. Allah created the universe. In fact, saying Allah created you means Allah created the universe — that is the meaning. How does this come about? Allah Almighty existed by His own Self. He wished to be known. His will was to create a human being. From His Spirit, the light of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), and then, by giving him his soul, He created the first human, the Prophet. Since the worlds were created from the Prophet's light, when it says "you", "you", He emphasizes here that He created all the worlds for man, created them so that His Self would be known.
Allah created you. Then He will cause you to die. That is, He brought you into the world, placed you there. Before you prove what kind of person you are — according to (?) — Allah Almighty, being free of deficient attributes, brought us and placed us in the world. Through the deeds we do, according to the covenant we gave Allah Almighty, with the characters He placed in us, what we, in our desires and wishes, wish from our Lord — our Lord creates events in this world for it. In response to these events, people earn reward and sin for the deeds they do. So then He will cause people to die. While in the world, "having known before" — that is, we know many things.
Let me say, when young, we grow up, or we learn things. Then they will come to know nothing. They will come to know nothing. That is, with old age people have periods of senility. Let me say, they have periods of forgetfulness. So, having known before, they will come to know nothing. Some of you will live a bad stage of life, of you. Some people will live a bad stage of life. That is, according to the covenant they gave Allah Almighty, these people will either go through a period of senility or forget what they know and, in old age, become like a child. Surely Allah is All-Knowing, All-Powerful.
Here let us make a distinction for you. Look what the verse says. Having known before, they will come to know nothing. Some of you, it says. Pay attention to this part. Some of you will live a bad stage of life. Some of you, yes, a bad stage of life will live. Now when it says here: some of you a bad stage of life will live — those who know Allah and His Messenger — the scholars, the ulema, the saints, the prophets — do not lose the capacity of their minds. Because, through the light Allah Almighty gave them and placed in their hearts, they are (?). Their unveiling (kashf) is open and their lessons are wide.
So since Allah Almighty also informs them by inspiration, these people will not live a bad stage of life in their mental capacity. If there is such a person who, in old age, lives through forgetfulness or any bad stage of life, that this has nothing to do with sainthood and knowledge is proven in this verse. Yes. Even if a person reaches 100, 150 years — for example, Noah lived 1200 years among his people. Solomon lived 500 years. All the prophets lived over 100 years. For example, Abraham too lived over 100 years.
They did not lose anything of their minds. And people who are heirs of the prophets also lose nothing of their minds. So surely Allah Almighty created the worlds with knowledge. All-Knowing, it says. This knowing rests on knowledge, of course. All-Powerful. He created no being beyond His power. Yes.
Allah Almighty created our souls in the realm of Lahut.
That is why He says "Allah created you", it says. Because Allah Almighty created our souls in the realm of Lahut, for this reason He says "Allah created you". Because our essential being is our soul. Soul, nafs and life (can) are one. Bodies are separate. Bodies come into being in the world. Allah Almighty made the body of our forefather Adam from clay brought from the earth, and after giving it human form, He placed his soul in it. So man, clothed in flesh and bone, took on his outward appearance. In this world, man has taken his outward appearance in the guise of a body; with this body, since in the hereafter soul, nafs and life are one, our state there it refers to, and separately it emphasizes that in the world, in the guise of a body, we were created as well.
What does it say here? Because Allah Almighty created our souls in the realm of Lahut, for this reason He says "Allah created you". Since our true being is our soul, with this soul, whether we come into the world or go to other countries, other galaxies — surely, wherever we go, Allah has created us within this universe. Allah Almighty means our creation before people took on the guise of a body, before they came to this world. That is why He says "Allah created you". Then He will cause you to die. With this verse, too, (?) the covenant all of us gave to Allah Almighty, He wrote our destinies for us.
Within these destinies, He lets us live a lifespan given to us in worldly life and then will cause us to die. So that, having known before, they come to know nothing, some of you will be made to live a bad stage of life. "Having known before" means: at Kalu Bela, as people were addressed by Allah Almighty, with the address "I am your Lord", Allah Almighty made Himself known to people. Therefore, since all people knew they were created by one Allah, "having known before" — this is the word He conveys to people. Continuing the verse: so that they come to know nothing, some of you will be made to live a bad stage of life.
Allah Almighty is free of deficient attributes. (?) Although Allah made Himself known to people, people betrayed Allah; they did not want to know Him. So by sending man to the realm of Mulk, where His Self is not seen, Allah caused him to come to know nothing. After Allah Almighty created our souls and took their covenant, the waiting place of our souls, the realm of barzakh, He (?). When the time comes for a soul that will come to this world, He brings it to the realm of Jabarut, that is, to a place called the realm of nearness, and there clothes it with the light of Jabarut. That is, He veils it. More plainly, so that it forgets that realm and does not know the events, as one puts a password on a computer program, He locks that section.
Then He sends it to the realm of Malakut. There too He clothes it in a covering from the light of Malakut. There too a section of the program is closed with a password. Then man comes to the realm of Mulk remembering nothing of the hereafter. Then man begins to live his life in the world. Saying "some of you will be made to live the worst stage of their life" refers to Muslims: compared to the hereafter, life in this world, for a Muslim, compared to Paradise, is the worst stage of life. There is a distinction here. By saying "some will be made to live the worst stage of their life", meaning the people of faith and the people of kufr, Allah Almighty makes a distinction here.
A Muslim's life in the world, that is, his lifetime, compared to Paradise, is the worst stage of life for the people of faith. And for a kafir, compared to the torment and pain he will suffer in the hereafter, his lifetime in worldly life is his paradise. So Allah Almighty, making a distinction here, by saying "some will have the worst stage of their life" means the people of faith, and declares that worldly life is the worst stage of life for the people of faith. Allah (?), we did not stress this separately here, (?). Allah Almighty's word is both outward (zahir) and inward (batin). Outwardly, in this world too, people, when they start growing from childhood, start learning, become knowledgeable. And in the end, a forgetfulness, yes, states of senility arise in them or they show a childlike state.
So, the old — that is, according to the verse "We return you to your first form of creation", it says here that you become powerless and without knowledge, (?). Allah is All-Knowing, All-Powerful. All-Knowing, All-Powerful. Since Allah knows best what He created and created these events with His knowledge, Allah is All-Knowing. He causes what He created to die and revives them again. Doing this is not hard for Allah. Therefore Allah is All-Powerful. He is the One who carries out His will. Yes.
