An-Nahl 73: They worship things (idols) other than Allah that cannot give them anything from the provisions in the heavens and on the earth.

The polytheists, leaving Allah, worship things that cannot give them any provision in the heavens or on earth and are never able to — idols, it says. How beautifully Allah Almighty puts it. Since there is no god other than Allah Almighty — the heavens and the earth and what is between them know the remembrance of their Lord, according to the verse — if Allah Almighty created these worlds, everything that exists, from atom to globe, is Allah's creation. Objects Allah created, especially these lifeless beings without reason and life — that man, by his own reasoning, (?) them with his hands, and, as if, in what he believes, by their own reasoning, there were the spirit of a god who created them, puts that into those idols and worships them; that those unaware of themselves prostrate before what is not, and beg them in their wishes and desires, and when their wishes and desires, if they are to be granted within their destinies, are granted by our Lord, who created us, the Owner of the worlds, thinking they came from their idols and giving them gifts, adorning them with gifts — this is not something reason can accept.

These are (?), ignorant people. One who commits shirk against Allah can be none other than an enemy of Allah. But people other than these, other than these, even if, to Allah, being kafirs, they still associate partners, are one degree higher than these idol worshippers. But the one who truly knows Allah is the Muslim. The Muslim knows there is no god other than Allah and in no way associates partners with Allah. Yes. Allah Almighty addresses the polytheists here. Despite all the blessings Allah has given, the polytheists abandon Allah and, making Allah's creations partners against Allah, worship them.

Yet just as the things they worship bring them neither benefit nor harm, though they know nothing in the heavens or of the provisions Allah gives, they are not even able to do anything at all. So these people, not using their minds, acting with the feelings of the nafs and of Satan, are people who do wrong to their own selves. Because they are people who, ignoring all of Allah's miracles, from the similitudes Allah has brought to people take no lessons, living like the blind and the deaf — that is what they are. May Allah protect us from such a life. Yes.
