Translation

“Or a treasure should have been given to him or he should have a garden that he can eat from (and get a living from without having to work).” Those oppressors said (to the mu’min) this, too; “You are only following a man who is under a spell.”

Tafsir

The polytheists and disbelievers also said about the Prophet (s.a.w.). Or if he had a garden or a vineyard and earned his livelihood from it, so that he would not have to suffer hardship. It is because people value worldly possessions without using their minds, without listening to the voice of the Truth, that they look for wealthy people. If the Prophet had been wealthy, everyone would have gathered around him, and obedience would not be to the Prophet, but to his wealth. Although Allah created all these worlds for the sake of His Prophet and gave the worlds at his command, because of the Prophet's faith and devotion to Allah (swt), because of his knowledge of the truths, because he knew that the world was a temporary blessing and that the Hereafter was both permanent and eternal, the Prophet (swt) used to ask Allah for the salvation of these people in order to direct Allah and Allah's servants to the Truth, not the world.

These polytheists and unbelievers say to the believers that you have only followed a bewitched man. Why did you know about magic, but not about Allah, who is the owner of magic? The disbelievers and polytheists who disbelieve in Allah, and the hatred they harbor in their hearts against Allah (swt), and the pride and arrogance in their souls, self-righteousness, worldly ambition and desire, pride in their worldly possessions among themselves, and boasting in their lineage, children and wealth, have turned them away from Allah (swt). Such people have tulips on their necks. They cannot bow their necks and obey Allah.

However, those who are believers. They are distinguished people who understand the Truth, who believe that there is no other God but Allah, and who have faith in Allah and His Messenger. Allah is pleased with these believers and they are pleased with Allah. Allah sustains these worlds for the sake of these believing servants. If Allah did not have such servants, if there were no people on earth who remember Allah, Allah would have destroyed these worlds and created servants who know Him. Therefore, when polytheists and disbelievers say that you are following a bewitched person, when they try to eliminate believers by denying Allah, when they call Islam anarchy and reaction, and when they characterize Islam as backwardness, the situation of such people is similar to that of people who cut the branches they are riding on. That is to say, in the time of the late Nasrettin Hodja, such polytheists and disbelievers were also raging, and Nasrettin Hodja gave them a good lesson with his witticisms and said that they were cutting the branches they were riding on. The world stands for the sake of Islam and believers and people who remember Allah.

What is said in the video

Surah Al-Furqan, verse 8. Or a treasure should have been given to him. Allah, look, Allah Allah. Treasure, as I said: if only it had been said to one of the two from this city, the rich, so they could obey him. That is, obey not him but the money. Well, aren't there people today who obey money?

They smuggled the treasures abroad. With trillions, away from their homeland, their family, their children — they sold their homeland for money. Each of them looked for a corner to flee to, (?) to fly off to. Look and see whether they have any peace. What will a person do with such money? For those people it is (?).

Or a treasure should have been given to him, or he should have had a garden to eat from and earn his living without hardship. And those wrongdoers said to the believers: you are only following a bewitched man. Yes.

To the believers, it says. Believers. You know the believers. Those who pledged allegiance to the Prophet (peace be upon him) are called the Sahaba. The Sahaba are believers. A believer is one who is aware of the manifestation. Notice, in the hadiths the believers or the noble Companions say: I swear by that Being, it says. Their oaths are like this. I swear by that Being, it says. When they are going to tell something, that is, they mean Allah Almighty. They have all seen.

The noble Companions, of Allah Almighty, never spoke.

Some of the Tabi'in spoke of Allah Almighty with the forms of His essence, and some denied it. Is that so? Researcher. Yes. Here we understand this: Those who speak as equipped with the forms of the essence have come face to face with the essence of Allah Almighty. People who saw Allah Almighty with those forms of the essence: believers. And those who deny it have not yet been able to reach that realm. Even if among the Tabi'in. Even if among the Tabi'in. After that it closed anyway. It closed, but since Allah Almighty will complete His light until the Day of Judgment, He has brought forth in every age those who speak the truth.

Had it not been so, with superstitions added to superstitions, people would leave the religion,

and a path that (?) would have been entered. That is why the heirs of the prophets, the scholars — since no prophet will come again, Allah Almighty, with His essence, raises them and has them tell people the truth. And this will continue until the Day of Judgment. Yes.

Let's read the verse once more. Or a treasure should have been given to him. Or he should have had a garden to eat from and earn his living without hardship. And those wrongdoers said to the believers: you are only following a bewitched man. The polytheists and disbelievers, about the Prophet (peace be upon him), also said this: Or if only he had a vineyard and garden and secured his living with it and did not suffer hardship. So people, without using their reason, without listening to the voice of truth, because they value worldly possessions, look for wealthy people. If the Prophet had been rich, everyone would gather around him.

It would be obedience not to the Prophet but to his wealth. Thus, although Allah created all these worlds for His Prophet's sake and put the worlds under his command, because the Prophet's (peace be upon him) faith in and devotion to Allah Almighty and his knowing the truths, as he knew that the world is a passing blessing and the Hereafter is both lasting and eternal, the Prophet (peace be upon him), not for the world but (?) Allah and to turn Allah's servants to the truth, would beseech Allah for these people's salvation. Yes.

These polytheists and disbelieving wrongdoers say to these believers: you have only followed a bewitched person. Well, you knew magic, so why could you not know Allah, who also owns magic? You knew it well. Why could you not know its owner? These disbelievers and polytheists who deny Allah: the grudge they harbour in their hearts against Allah Almighty and the pride and arrogance in their nafs, their self-admiration, their greed and desire for the world, their vaunting among themselves with worldly goods, their boasting of lineage, children and family have distanced them from Allah. Such people have lale collars on their necks.

These cannot bow their necks and obey Allah. What is a lale? They put it on dogs' necks. A ring like this, a spiked ring. Spiked. So that when a wolf attacks, it can't seize it by the neck. Well, those caught up in this pride and arrogance also have lale collars on their necks. Because of their nafs they cannot bow their necks. That is, they cannot break their nafs and obey Allah. Yes. And non-Muslims have lale collars on their necks. They cannot bend their necks. Towards each other too. I witnessed something in Germany. We were coming by car. We were going to enter a park. One came out from here, one from there, they met.

One has to give way to the other so he can pass. And we're on the right side of the road. If he passes, they'll pass by us. Both are standing still. And they've blocked our way too, we're waiting. One says: you go; the other says: you go. Look at the pride, the pride. Look at the (?). The (?). Can you believe it? We waited there five minutes for them.

Astonishing, really.

Again, someone from there took us to eat fish by a stream. Now, on the other side of the stream there's a woman, a man and a dog. They're making the dog run. When the dog goes off downward, (?) to the dog, come here, says the woman; the dog comes, passes by her to the other side. The woman gets kind of upset, says come here and so on, the dog (?) downward. Now the woman was bewildered; the dog isn't obeying. It caught my attention too, I'm watching to see what will happen. When she called again, the dog stopped beside her. She goes oh. O Allah, look at the eagerness in that.

So what does Allah Almighty say? Before your eyes hundreds of miracles appear every day. You are blind, you do not see, He says. Yes.

Those who are true believers have understood the truth. They believe from the heart that there is no god but Allah, they believe in Allah and His Prophet; they are select people. Allah is pleased with these believing servants of His, and they with Allah are pleased. O soul at rest, your Lord pleased with you and you with your Lord, enter among My servants, enter My Paradise — it is the counterpart of this verse.

Allah Almighty, for the sake of these believing servants, keeps these worlds standing. Had Allah no such servants, had there been no people on earth remembering Allah, Allah would destroy these worlds and create servants who know His essence. So the polytheists and disbelievers saying: you are following a bewitched person, trying to eliminate the believers by denying Allah, calling Islam anarchy and reaction and describing Islam as backwardness — the state of such people resembles people who cut the branches they sit on. So in the time of the late Nasreddin Hodja, such polytheists and disbelievers caused hurt. Nasreddin Hodja, with his witticisms, gave them a good lesson and said: they are cutting the branches they sit on.

The world, for the sake of Islam and the believers, the people who remember Allah, stands firm.

Now one day Nasreddin Hodja climbed a tree. On top of the tree he is cutting the branch he sits on. A man is passing by. He says: Hodja, don't cut there. Look, you're cutting the branch you sit on, then you'll fall, he says. The Hodja pays no attention. When he cuts the branch, bang, he falls down. He comes running to the man. You knew that I would fall, so you must know (?), he says.

Yes. These are people on earth who put on airs of knowing everything.
