An-Nahl 94: Do not make your oaths a means of mischief among yourselves; otherwise, while you were steadfast (in Islam) your feet may slip, and you may taste evil for preventing people from Allah’s path. For you there will be great punishment (in the Hereafter).

Translation

Do not make your oaths a means of mischief among yourselves; otherwise, while you were steadfast (in Islam) your feet may slip, and you may taste evil for preventing people from Allah’s path. For you there will be great punishment (in the Hereafter).

Tafsir

Do not disregard your oaths and take Allah lightly by ignoring Him. This kind of behavior creates weakness of faith. God forbid, it may even lead one out of Islam. Not only that, but when people enjoy their nafsani lives, they ridicule Muslims and call them reactionaries or bigots. They start to prevent those who live Islam from the path of Allah (swt), and Allah (swt) gives such people a taste of evil in this world. That is, He gives them calamities and heart troubles, unrest, material and spiritual hardship. He oppresses people in this world in return for what they have done, and in the Hereafter there will be great torments for them.

What is said in the video

Do not make your oaths a means of mischief among yourselves. Surah An-Nahl, verse 94 Otherwise, after having stood firm in Islam, your foot will slip, and for turning people away from the path of Allah, in this world you will taste evil. And for you there is also a great punishment in the hereafter.

Now, when it says, do not make your oaths a means of mischief among yourselves, this verse's root goes back to hypocrisy. Hypocrisy. He appears to be a Muslim, swears (?) oaths and tries to lead people astray from the path of Allah. Indeed, otherwise, after having stood firm in Islam, your foot will slip, and for turning people away from Allah's path you will taste evil in this world, and for you there is also a great punishment in the hereafter, it says. Yes, its root goes back to hypocrisy. Swearing by invoking Allah's name, taking Allah's name lightly, and making a game of it to deceive the person in front of you, to violate his rights, or to swindle him — through such acts a person both becomes subject to punishment and, when the person in front of him saw him appear Muslim and then finds himself swindled, he also drives people away from Islam.

In this case, people become subject to punishment in the hereafter. Do not disregard your oaths and take Allah lightly by ignoring Him. Such behavior produces weakness of faith. God forbid, it can even take a person out of Islam. Nor does it stop there; when lives led by the nafs please people, then they mock Muslims and label them as backward or bigoted. They also begin to turn those who live Islam away from Allah's path, and to such people Allah Almighty gives a taste of evil in this world, that is, calamities and distress of heart, gives unrest, material and spiritual hardship. In return for what people do, He oppresses them in this world, and in the hereafter gives them a great punishment.
