Translation

Indeed, he does not have any control over those who believe and who only depend and trust in their Lord.

Tafsir

Shaytan has no power over those who believe in Allah (swt) and are ruled by the Verses of Allah (swt). Because such people understand the temptation of the devil and do not fall prey to the temptation of the devil, as it will lead one into sin.

People of Taqwa compare Satan's temptation with the Verses of Allah (swt). Satan's temptation is ignorant compared to the Verses of Allah, so Satan has no control over such people.

Satan's dealing with people, leading them astray, swearing by the name of Allah, is for him the amusement of his heart. Because Shaytan was jealous of our ancestor Adam in the past, he did not prostrate to him. He rebelled against Allah (swt). The curse of Allah (swt) on our ancestor Adam made Satan an enemy of mankind.

Satan asked Allah for a period of time until the Day of Resurrection. Allah (swt) gave him this period. This angel, who is the enemy of mankind, will work until the Day of Resurrection to seduce and mislead people into sin and to turn them away from the path of Allah.

If a person turns to Allah and judges by His Verses, Shaytan has no power over such people.

What is said in the video

We have come to Surah An-Nahl, verse 99.

Truly, it says, over those who believe and put their trust in their Lord alone, he, it says, Satan, has no authority.

But Hodja, didn't Satan circulate in a person's blood vessels and whisper temptations to him? Now, gentlemen, before reading this verse, let me tell you some events from here. Maybe I won't tell it in much detail here, let me tell it part by part. In a verse Allah Almighty says, Satan's temptation to My servant who knows Me is (?). Right?

They have rendered this verse wrongly too. Let me say it in its wrong rendering. When We, it says, reveal to the heart of a prophet, Satan, it says, must not try to tempt him. We annul Satan's temptation and firmly protect Our verses in his heart, it says. That is the verse. This is the wrong one. Now I am telling the right one. When We, it says, reveal Our verses to Our servant the prophet, Satan must not try to tempt him. We reveal Our verses to Our servant firmly, and Satan's temptation strikes those verses and turns back. It is of no use to him. So the verse saying Satan's temptation to My servant who knows Me is (?) — this is what it means.

On the other side, supposedly Allah annuls the temptation he gives. Then let Allah also annul the temptation he will give, let Him annul the temptation he gives to people too. But when the verses settle firmly in their place, Satan's temptation, it says, strikes the verses We have given strongly. That is, falsehood vanishes before the truth. It turns back, it says. This, in the first form, is a person's struggle through knowledge against Satan's temptation, his struggle with Satan. In the second form, the Prophet says, I have tied up my Satan. I tied him up. What is this tie? This tie is bringing the nafs to perfection.

Bringing Satan, together with the desires of the nafs, completely under one's rule. How does this happen? With the remembrance of Allah, with Allah's verses, he gives him a good beating. Ties him up well. After tying him, he puts him in a nice coffin. Then he closes the coffin's lid and nails it shut. Do you know what this means? Does he really do it like this? He gains this much mastery over his nafs. In this case, if he gives his nafs even an atom's weight of share, it starts stirring inside the coffin. If he pays no heed and gives his nafs a little more right, it opens the coffin's lid. If, a little more, thinking I will master it, he again goes along with his nafs, it unties its bonds.

Then it pesters him again.

I wonder if I could explain the situation here? We say it as a simile. I mean putting him in the coffin, tying him and driving in the nails. That is, only a person who can master his nafs this much can say, I have tied up my Satan. So the Prophet said, I have tied up my Satan. Have you tied him up too, Hodja? By God, at one time I tied him up too, but now I don't really know.

Yes. He is somewhat tied. But he stirs now and then. That too comes from things one has to do because of old age. Of the nafs, for example. Diabetes came. Eye pressure went up. (?) came. You take this, you take that. I mean, you eat more now. You take medicine. Being resolute and strong-willed as before, I won't eat that, I won't eat this, I won't do that, I won't do this, there is none of that anymore. Out of necessity you nourish your body too. In this case Satan too sometimes stirs in the coffin.

One must tell the truth. But I don't let him open the lid. If he opens the lid, it's bad.

Yes. Truly, over those who believe and put their trust in their Lord alone, he, Satan, has no authority, we said. Having explained this part this much, now let's read this part. Over those who believe in Allah Almighty, who abide by Allah's verses, Satan has no rule, because such people understand that the temptation Satan gives will lead a person into sin, so they do not fall for Satan's temptation. Anyway, what I wrote are all the thoughts of what I have told; it is these thoughts we are explaining anyway. People of piety compare the temptation Satan gives with the verses of Allah Almighty. Satan's temptation beside Allah's verses is (?), that is, because of what it is, Satan has no authority left over such people.

Satan's dealing with people, leading them astray from their path, swearing by Allah, is the amusement of his heart. Because Satan, in the beginning, envied our father Adam and did not prostrate to him. He rebelled against Allah Almighty. Because of our father Adam, the Satan cursed by Allah Almighty was made an enemy of mankind. Satan asked Allah for a respite until the Day of Judgment. And Allah Almighty gave him this respite. This accursed one, the enemy of mankind, until the Day of Judgment, by giving the people to come temptations and whispers, to lead people into sin and keep them from Allah's path, will keep working. So a person turns to Allah.

If Allah's verses are his rulings, Satan has no rule over such people. Yes.

A wrong word occurs there, let's correct it. He rebelled against Allah Almighty. His incurring the curse of Allah Almighty because of our father Adam made Satan an enemy of mankind, we say. Because of the curse of Allah Almighty, his incurring the curse of Allah Almighty made Satan an enemy of mankind. I did it right, didn't I? Right. He rebelled against Allah Almighty. His incurring the curse of Allah Almighty because of our father Adam made Satan an enemy of mankind. Yes. It is not that Allah Almighty made him an enemy. He himself became an enemy. Yes. We wrote it correctly. Because sometimes a single word right away reveals a person there.

Because (?) is thinking.
