Translation

We made the things We mentioned to you also unlawful for the Jews, but they were committing oppression against themselves.

Tafsir

Since the Torah, the Psalms and the Injeel are collected in the Qur'an, it is clear that what Allah (swt) has told the Jews in the Torah, He has also told them in the Qur'an, and that what is forbidden is also forbidden to the Jews. And We forbade to those who were Jews before what We have told you, but they were unjust to themselves. That is to say, the Jews were changing the Verses that Allah had sent to them, as they wished, and they were accusing Allah with the lies of their tongues. They were saying that this is lawful and this is unlawful. In this respect they were wronging themselves. That is, they were attributing to Allah what Allah did not say. In that case they were sinful and unjust to their souls.

What is said in the video

Surah An-Nahl, the 118th verse. What We have told you, We had also forbidden earlier to those who were Jews. But they were wronging themselves. Was there ever a time when the Jews did not do wrong anyway? Moses saved them from Pharaoh's oppression.

Beside Mount Tur, in the desert of Tih, in the desert of Tih, when Moses went out for intimate prayer with my Lord, with our Lord, they worshipped the calf that the Samiri had made. They could not say: Allah saved us from the hand of this tyrant, from the hand of this Pharaoh. They could not say: Allah Almighty split the sea in two and took us across. He gave us life. Again they worshipped the calf. Allah Almighty gave them quail meat, gave them who knows what. He gave them manna. They said: we couldn't stand this, give us onions and garlic too. And many of them were left with (?) in their mouths.

The people of Saturday were just the same; He told them: do not fish on Saturday. They said: we built a breakwater, and they fished on Saturday. In this case, which of Allah's words did they follow? Enter through this gate remembering Allah, He says. They in turn say it in the sense of (?) and go on.

Even now, in front of the wailing walls, these are associating partners with Allah, rebelling, and saying to Him whatever comes into their mouths. May Allah protect us.

What We have told you, We had also forbidden earlier to those who were Jews. But they were wronging themselves, He says. Since the Torah, the Torah and the Gospel are gathered in the Quran, Allah Almighty declares that what He told the Jews in the Torah He has told in the Quran too, and that what is prohibited was prohibited to the Jews as well. What We have told you, We had also forbidden earlier to those who were Jews. But they were wronging themselves. That is, the verses Allah sent them, the Jews changed as they wished, and with the lies their tongues told, they were attributing guilt to Allah. They would say: these are lawful, those are forbidden.

For this reason they were wronging themselves. That is, they attributed to Allah something Allah did not say. In this way they became sinful and were doing wrong to their own selves, He declares. Yes.
