Translation

He was grateful for the provisions of Allah, he was a superior character and was on the straight path (of Allah).

Tafsir

Hazrat Halil Ibrahim 'alaihis-salâm' had nine beautiful qualities. His first quality was that he had a different understanding from those people in such an idolatrous tribe. His second quality was that he was devoted to Allah and very obedient to Him. He used to fulfill all the commands of Allah (swt). His third characteristic was that he was a Hanif, that is, he was far from falsehood and ruled by the truth. His fourth characteristic was that he was free from idolaters and polytheists. Fifth characteristic: He was grateful for the blessings of Allah (swt). His sixth characteristic was that even in the face of a small blessing, he would consider himself a slave of Allah and confess to Allah in his heart that he was in love with Allah.

The seventh attribute is that Allah has guided him to a straight path, to Hidayet.

What is said in the video

What does it say here? In verse 121 it has been rendered wrongly. He was grateful for Allah's blessings. Well, because Allah had chosen him and guided him to the right path. Now, Allah never discriminates between His servants, and Allah does not guide His servants to the right path either. If Allah Almighty had guided people to the right path, today people on the crooked path would say: You guided him to the right path, had You only guided me too; that is, this. No one will be able to question Allah Almighty. Because of Allah Almighty's attribute of Godhood, people, for the deeds and actions they have done, will be (?) from questions.

In this case everyone: when, in the realm of the hereafter, before coming into the world, as souls, we made a covenant with Allah Almighty, there our own covenant became our own wish, and that wish of ours became destiny. Within our destiny these were inscribed in us as characters, and since within these inscribed destinies each of us is to prove what kind of person we are, in this case Allah has led no one astray and has guided no one to the right path. Its counterpart is this, that verse's rendering: He was grateful for Allah's blessings, about Abraham. Because he was an eminent person and on Allah's right path.

Yes, this is an eminent person, that is, in character, in affirming the oneness of Allah Almighty, in faith, in intellect; since already at the call of Elest-i Rabbiküm he was bound to our Lord with heartfelt love and longing, according to that person's own wish and will characters were given to him. And so, in the souls to which Allah gave a part of His essence, in no way discriminating among people, with justice, according to people's own wishes and desires, according to their characters, He wrote their wishes for them as destiny. So we read the wrong verse once. We will read it again with the correct one.

Then it will be understood better.

Yes.

Sıratlı says the broadcast has frozen for him.

Now, Surah An-Nahl, 121: we read verse 121 again. And we will read it with the correct version too. He was grateful for Allah's blessings. Because Allah had chosen him and guided him to the right path. It says. Look, the first part is right: he was grateful for Allah's blessings. That is, without Allah Almighty interfering in any way, the person by his own wish and will was grateful for Allah's blessings. Because Allah had chosen him and guided him to the right path, it says. This time, however, it is not so. The correct one: he was grateful for Allah's blessings. Because he was an eminent person and on Allah's right path.

Yes. Knowing it this way, what do we say? Abraham Khalil (peace be upon him) had nine fine qualities.

Nine fine qualities of Abraham (peace be upon him). We list them. His first quality was that among such an idol-worshipping people he had an understanding apart from those people. This is his first quality. That is, from birth he never worshipped idols and knew that idols could not be gods.

Yes.

There's a wedding outside, I think, they're playing the drum. in this rain, it's raining here.

Yes, his first quality: despite settling among an idol-worshipping people, despite being among them, he never worshipped those idols and knew that idols could not be gods. So he received the name Hanif. Hanif means that a person, from birth until growing up, until death, believes in the one God and never leaves the religion of Islam. Yes.

His second quality: he was devoted to Allah from the heart and very obedient to Him. Now where is this leading? When he made the covenant with Allah Almighty at the call of Elest-i Rabbiküm, it means that Allah did not choose him, nor guide this person to the right path. This person's being devoted to Allah Almighty from the heart and very obedient to Him made him, with an eminent character, close to Allah Almighty. He fulfilled all of Allah Almighty's commands. That is, he would not say: let this be like this, that be like that, this one is from the nafs. Since he was within Allah's command from beginning to end, this person received the name Hanif. His third quality: he was Hanif.

That is, he never acted outside the religion of Islam. That is, far from (?), he was bound by truths. His fourth quality: he was free of the (?), of the polytheists. His fifth quality: he was grateful for Allah Almighty's blessings. His sixth quality: even for a small blessing he would regard himself as Allah's slave. He would confess to Allah in his heart that Allah is enamoured, that he was enamoured of Allah. His seventh quality: Allah Almighty granted him a straight path, guidance, it says. Yes.

When we said nine fine qualities here, it is not nine fine qualities; we are speaking of seven fine qualities. Yes. We had that part down wrongly. We will call it not nine but seven fine qualities here. Yes. Yes.
