Translation

When the time of the first (mischief) came, Our servants of great might came upon you. They went between the houses and searched (for you). (In return for your transgression) this was a promise to be fulfilled.

Tafsir

When the time of the promise of the first of these came. That is, when the Children of Israel increased in their rebellion, when they became a people who transgressed by slaughtering the Prophets, then there came upon them servants who were very fierce and powerful. These were either Sencarip and his army from the people of Nineveh, or Buhtunnasr, or, according to one tradition, Goliath.

They searched everywhere and among the houses to kill the Children of Israel. They captured seventy thousand of the Children of Israel. They killed their scholars and destroyed Al-Aqsa Mosque. This was the time of the first of the torments that would come, and a promise fulfilled. Allah (swt) warns people of the calamities and oppression inflicted by Allah on a people who had overstepped the bounds in their rebellion, and Allah (swt) informs them of their fate as an example to mankind. According to Abussuud's interpretation, it is one of the Sunnah's ways in this world that one wrongdoer will be a pest to another wrongdoer and they will hurt each other.

What is said in the video

Verse 5. 4. Verse 5. Wrong, it has been said wrongly. When the time for the first of these came, We sent upon you strong, mighty servants of Ours. They went about between the houses searching for you. This was a promise fulfilled. Whereas when the time for the first of these came, strong, mighty servants of Ours came upon you. Here what does it say: when the time for the first came, We sent upon you strong, mighty servants of Ours, it says. We sent. That is, here they ascribe attributes to Allah Almighty. How so? Here there is a source of knowledge. Allah Almighty uses people by His own will, and against the other He created strong, mighty people and sent them to destroy them; such a situation arises. Whereas Allah Almighty has left people free in their own will, and people gain reward and sin through the actual deeds they do.

In this case, what does it say now? After opening this up a bit, we read the wrong one. When the time for the first of these came, We sent upon you strong, mighty servants of Ours, it says. Whereas: when the time for the first of these came, strong, mighty servants of Ours came upon you. They went about between the houses searching for you. In return for your transgression, this was a promise to be fulfilled, it says. That is, a promise to be fulfilled according to these actions you did, it says. The first appears in this way. The time of the second has not yet come; it too will come, inshallah.

It has drawn near too. Because, a dog, suppose a dog: as long as the dog is useful you feed the dog. As long as it is useful. When it goes rabid, you kill it. It will have brought about its own end itself. These too are wretched creatures attacking left and right like a rabid dog. Vile people who will prepare their own destruction themselves. When the time for the first of these came, strong, mighty servants of Ours came upon you. They went about between the houses searching for you. In return for your transgression, a promise that would be fulfilled is made. Yes.

When the promised time of the first of these came, that is, when the transgression of the Children of Israel increased, when they became a people overstepping bounds by killing the prophets. Now, the noble now Solomon. Solomon. Solomon, by making the jinn work, built Al-Masjid al-Aqsa, yet, to the qibla to which Allah Almighty had turned those first people, to that qibla: our first qibla is Al-Masjid al-Aqsa. Then the Prophet (peace be upon him) wished to refrain from it. In the Masjid al-Qiblatayn Allah Almighty commanded him to turn to the House. So, the first qibla of the Muslims, for the Torah, bound by Allah's commands, the Psalms and the Gospel are all upon the fitra of Islam.

Those not bound by them are in the state of unbelievers. In this case, if these people enter Al-Masjid al-Aqsa, the first qibla, with boots, how are they different from a rabid dog? How is it different from killing the other prophets? Perhaps they are doing something even worse, doing even worse. In the other, you kill one person. Here the place that is your Lord's House, His qibla, with filthy feet, with those carrion feet, you defile. Yes.

When the promised time of the first of these came, that is, when the transgression of the Children of Israel increased, when they became a people overstepping bounds by killing the prophets, Allah Almighty sent against them some of His servants who were very fierce and powerful. These, that is, from the people of Nineveh, were Sencarit and his army, or Nebuchadnezzar. According to one narration, also it was Goliath, it says. To kill the Children of Israel, everywhere, between the houses, they were searching. The Children of Israel: they took 70 thousand of the Children of Israel captive too. They killed their scholars. They ruined Al-Masjid al-Aqsa.

So this was the time of the first of the punishment that would appear, and a fulfilled promise. Now pay attention. There is a statement here. They ruined Al-Masjid al-Aqsa, it says. Who is this? What are we saying? Well, these were either from the people of Nineveh, these people, or else they are Nebuchadnezzar, it says. What does it say of them? We sent Our servants upon them. Yes. All that is created are Allah's servants, but one who is a servant to Allah is Allah's servant. One who serves Allah. In that case, a servant of Allah does not turn Al-Masjid al-Aqsa into ruins. Therefore, since every person, for the actual deeds done by his own will, gets reward and sin, these people, by their own actual deeds, Allah Almighty, in return for what they did, prepares a ground for them.

Or else they prepare a ground for themselves, and this event comes about. They ruined Al-Masjid al-Aqsa. So this was the time of the first of the punishment that would appear, and a promise fulfilled. Against the calamities a people overstepping bounds in transgression suffered from Allah and against the oppressions, warning people, Allah Almighty makes known their end to people as an example. According to the commentary of Abu Su'ud too, one oppressor being set upon another oppressor and their destroying each other has been a divine sunnah that takes place in this world, it says. Having one oppressor destroy another oppressor is (?) of the exalted sunnah, that is, a grace and generosity of Allah Almighty.

Yes.
