Translation

(Some) People desires evil just as much as they desire good. (such) people are very hasty.

Tafsir

Indeed, people ask Allah to do good for them. In addition, people who have not reformed their nafs, even if it harms them, if they like something, they rush to take it, even if they know that they will suffer harm from it, they cannot break their ego's desire and give up what their ego desires.

Such people are very hasty. However, if he is patient, if he buys what he is going to buy when the conditions allow, perhaps he will not go through worldly troubles and sins.

Another meaning is that man cannot know the unseen. La gaybi Illallah. Allah knows the unseen. In this respect, we may ask Allah for something that is not good for us because our ego likes it. However, if, while asking for it, he says to Allah (swt), 'O Allah, if it is good for me, grant it to me, if not, I don't want it, I am willing to accept anything that comes from You,' then Allah (swt) will surely turn this evil into good, because He wishes good for His servants.

However, man is in a hurry in his nafs and cannot control his nafs in order to attain what he longs for, and he asks Allah (swt) for more and more without remembering the bad sides of the matter. So man should not be in a hurry and should patiently and steadfastly surrender to Allah and wait for what he desires. After all, this worldly life is temporary, and what he desires will be left behind when his life is over. So the things that are best for us are the things that are best for the Hereafter. By patiently accepting what comes from Allah and gaining the pleasure of Allah, we will be rewarded in the Hereafter. These rewards are eternal and permanent. And Allah will not take back what He has given there.

What is said in the video

Verse 11: people ask for evil as much as they ask for good, people are very hasty, it says. Very hasty. Here Allah Almighty is ascribing it to Himself. Where does He ascribe it? It says people are very hasty. So if people are very hasty, Allah could not create a normal human. That is what I would say. You created me that way. Had You created me normal, I mean, had it at least been a normal state, I would not have been hasty. What does it say here? Many people ask for evil as much as they ask for good. Such people are very hasty. That type of people. Because they cannot make this distinction here, they always ascribe these passages to Allah like this.

That is, it says people are very hasty. If You created them that way, of course they will be hasty. No one can oppose Your (?) creating, after all. But when it says such people are very hasty, then in that address Elestü bi Rabbiküm, when people made the covenant, if your desire and wish became your aim, if that aim became your destiny, within that destiny you will, with such hastiness, be ungrateful toward that desire and wish. Yes.

Surely people ask Allah for good concerning themselves. Besides that, carnal people, people who have not reformed their nafs, even if it harms them, if they have taken a liking to something, hurry to get it. Knowing full well that they will suffer harm from it, they cannot break their nafs' whims and give up what their nafs desires. This is how man is very hasty. Whereas if he were patient and took the thing when conditions allowed, perhaps the world, he would not fall into worldly troubles and sins either. Another meaning is that man does not know the unseen. La gaybi illallah. Allah knows the unseen.

Therefore, something that will bring us no good, because our nafs likes it, we may ask of Allah. Whereas if, while asking for it, one said to Allah Almighty: My Allah, if it is good for me, grant it to me; if not, I do not want it. I am content with everything that comes from You — when one submits to Allah Almighty, Allah, since He surely wishes good for His servants, will perhaps turn this evil into good as well. But because of the hastiness and longing in his nafs, to reach the thing he longs for, man cannot control his nafs; without remembering the bad sides of the matter, he keeps asking Allah Almighty for it. So man shall not be hasty, and with patience and steadfastness, submitting to Allah, he shall wait for what he desires.

Moreover, since this worldly life is temporary, what he desires too, when his life comes to an end, he will leave behind in the world and go. So the best things for us are those that are good for the hereafter. It is, by patiently accepting what comes from Allah and earning Allah's pleasure, to attain the rewards in the hereafter. These rewards are eternal and everlasting. And what Allah gives there, He will never take back. Regarding this verse, I witnessed an incident. I had an uncle on my mother's side. My uncle. My uncle's wife's brother. A '57 Chevrolet. An old one. How old was I at that time?

If I take it as born in '38-'39. Around 19, that is.

He said, I love it so much. I'm going to buy a '57 Chevrolet. He dreams of it like this. Dreams of it. He asks that one for a loan. He asks this one for a loan. From someone else he asks for money and so on. His money isn't enough. Anyway, what did he do? He wangled and wriggled and bought a car. Within a week he had an accident with the car. And he himself died.

Yes. Haste. So you shall face everything with patience and steadfastness. You shall always ask Allah for what is best for you.
