Translation

We have tied the deeds of every human being to their neck. On the Day of Judgment, We will bring forth an opened book in front of them.

Tafsir

Before human beings take on the guise of a body, that is, before they come to the realm of the world, which we call the realm of property, in the realm of the Hereafter (kalu bela), "We have made a covenant with the descendants of the Children of Adam who will emerge from their offspring, bear witness against their souls. I am your Lord. We did this so that you would not say that we were not aware of this), there we made a covenant with Allah (swt) while we were in the state of spirits. The destiny of each human being is written as fate for him/her and engraved as characters in his/her nature.

When a human being comes to this world, he wants to live his life by desiring these qualities in himself. If one were to be provided with a life other than the life one desires, this life would be an inconvenience and one would be tired of the so-called life.

The deeds that people do in this world, which prepares the environment according to their desires and wishes, and which they keep in line with their own desires and wishes within these environments prepared in the world, bring rewards and sins to people. Allah (swt) says in another verse that every iota of good that you earn is written down and every iota of evil is also written down. So, when people receive rewards and sins for their deeds in this world, they will be written down by the Melaike-i Kiram on our right and left shoulders, and our inevitable Book will be placed in front of us in the Hereafter.

What is said in the video

We are giving the meaning of verse 13 of Surah Al-Isra. We have fastened every person's deeds, or destiny, to his neck, it says.

This verse directly supports Surah Al-A'raf, verse 172. In fact all verses confirm one another. You cannot find any verse (?) another. Because Allah Almighty is free from deficient attributes. In His speech there is no (?). In that case, when it says We have fastened every person's deeds and destiny to his neck, Allah Almighty, who leaves every person free in his own will, in the address Elestü bi Rabbiküm, when He made the covenant with people, wrote people's desires and wishes, their aims, for them as destiny. This covenant of His, of which He says We have fastened it to their necks, here in Surah Al-Isra, verse 13, He is also trying to explain to us.

In that case, if we go back a bit further, Allah Almighty was an unknown treasure; He willed to be known.

He created our souls in the realm of Lahut. Our original homeland is the realm of the hereafter. This here is a place of temporary benefit. Here, what kind of person people are, that is, without proving what kind of person you are, according to the verse (?), why did He send us to the realm of mulk? This is important. As we always say, our old students know this, but since the new ones don't know it well, I am always obliged to repeat it, and we repeat it so that people may have somewhat broader knowledge. In a verse Allah Almighty says this: Surah Al-Qasas, Al-Qasas, the Surah's verse 47 I am reading to you here.

When a calamity befalls them because of what they themselves did, it says, "Our Lord, if only You had sent us a prophet, we would have followed Your verses and been among the believers" — were they not going to say this, We would not have sent you. The first verse is like this. That is, when it says because of what they themselves did, it does not mean the world here. What does it mean? It means the address in which, creating our souls in the realm of Lahut, He said I am your Lord — that address. Because of what they themselves did, that is, knowing that they were created by a Lord, although I gave them of My spirit and created them in a state resembling My Being, he did not recognize Me as Lord.

Imagining the Lord of his mind's fancy, he turned his back on Me. So in the verse: My Beloved, do not mind their denying you. In their time they betrayed Me too, it says. In the verse. Now look what it says in another verse. Surah Ta-Ha, verse 134. If, before this, that is, before the Quran, We had destroyed them with a punishment — had We destroyed them. Pay attention here. The Torah, the Psalms and the Gospel are in the Quran. Since the Torah, the Psalms and the Gospel are in the Quran, when it says before the Quran — before people came to the world, in the realm of the hereafter, in the realm of Lahut, He creates our souls. When He said I am your Lord, there people divided into three classes, and kuntum ezvâcen selâseh (?), it says, (?) upper class.

Fe ashâbu'l-meymeneti mâ ashâbu'l-meymeneh. O you of the right, (?). Ve ashâbu'l-meş'emeti mâ ashâbu'l-meş'emeh. O you of the left, woe to you. Ve's-sâbikûne's-sâbikûn, ulâike'l-mukarrabûn, fî cennâti'n-naîm. A third group, the group of the foremost, it says. The company of saints, prophets, martyrs, the shuhada. Now, when it says before the Quran, that is, in the realm of Lahut, when He said to us I am your Lord, at that time, had We beforehand, it says, with a punishment, with a punishment destroyed you — for We know what you are, according to your covenant. Had We destroyed you, that is, filled hell with you, and sent the people of paradise to paradise — what would you have said to Me?

It says, what would you have said to Me?

They would surely have said this, it says. O Lord, if only You had sent us a messenger, before we fell into this baseness and disgrace we would have followed Your verses, it says. So Allah Almighty is free from deficient attributes. No one will be able to question Him. Because all the questions one would ask, Allah Almighty will have brought to light. In that case, solely so that Allah Almighty is not asked questions in connection with this verse, He creates the realm of mulk and, after the covenant, raises our souls to the barzakh. After the realm of barzakh, He sends the soul whose time has come to the world.

Solely so that people do not call Allah Almighty to account. So now Allah has sent us the Prophet, and sent scholars, and sent books. (?), it says. Every soul shall taste death; your return is to Me, it says. So after proving what kind of person we are, our return is again to Allah. And what does it say here? We have fastened every person's deeds and destiny to his neck. In that address Elestü bi Rabbiküm, whatever covenant you gave Me, it says — what? That desire, your wish, whatever you (?), We gave you such characters and bound you with it. According to his desire and wish. For man, on the Day of Judgment, We will bring forth a book to be placed before him, opened, it says.

According to the deeds you carried out in the world, the rewards and sins you received will be written in those (?), and the earth another earth, and the sky another sky. When it is brought out completely flat on earth, it says, there is no (?). When the Great Court is set up, the account (?) of each of you will be brought before you, and you will have nothing left to say, it says. Yes. Before people put on the garment of the body, that is, before they came to the world we call the realm of mulk, in the realm of the hereafter, at kalû belâ, We, with the offspring to emerge from the loins of the children of Adam, made a covenant.

They always interpret these passages wrongly. That He took their offspring out of their loins and made a covenant. If He took their offspring out of their loins and made a covenant, (?). Did you see Allah in the world? No. Well then, is it in the mother's womb, they say, or — Come on, do you imagine Allah Almighty so much, I mean, outside reason, within an unimaginable circle of ignorance? For a crime legally committed by a person of sound mind and age — I mean, not; a person not of sound mind and age, a child — if there is no punishment for the crime a child committed, then with a child in the mother's womb who is not even aware of himself, how should He (?)?

Or is it in the realm of the hereafter, they say? Well, if you don't know these passages, what on earth are you going to interpret?

Yes. (?) We made a covenant with the offspring to emerge from the loins of the children of Adam, We made them witnesses against themselves, it says. I am your Lord. The reason We did this is so that you would not say, We were unaware of this. So there, while we were souls, we made a covenant with Allah Almighty. Each person's aim was written for him as destiny, and as characters it was worked into his nature.

When man comes to the world, desiring these natural dispositions in himself, he wants to carry on his life. If people were given a life outside the desired life, this life to this person would be (?), and man would grow weary of what is called life.

If Allah Almighty had made me live outside my desire and wish in another realm, I would have been miserable. For example, let's say a German does not get along with an Englishman, an Englishman does not get along with a Frenchman, a Frenchman does not get along with an American; what is this? According to the verse "We divided you on earth into peoples so that you may quickly know one another," every person, according to his own mindset, his own understanding and ideology, into peoples and lands He divided, so that these people, among these people, through trade and dialogue, in very fine harmony with one another, may live their lives in joy and pleasure, enjoying it, and through the deeds they carry out, by earning rewards and sins, prove what kind of people they are.

How beautiful. What a beautiful harmony. Yes.

So, of the people who prepare an environment according to people's desires and wishes, in the world, within these prepared environments, the works they take up in line with their own desires and wishes earn people rewards and sins. Allah Almighty again declares in one of His verses: an atom's weight of good you earn is written, and likewise an atom's weight of evil is written. So, with the deeds people carry out in their worldly life, as people earn rewards and sins, these being written by the noble angels on their right and left shoulders, written by the Kiramen Katibin on the right and left, in the realm of the hereafter our inescapable book will be placed before us.

It will be placed before us. Yes.
