“Read your book (record)! On this day, your own nafs (self-ego) will be enough for you to take your own account!”

Tafsir

O man! Read the Qur'an, the Book sent to you by Allah. Allah has given in the Holy Qur'an all kinds of examples of all events, good and evil. He has created every mind to know Himself. He has shed light in front of people with the Qur'an He has sent to people. Allah has proved His existence to people. By declaring the existence of Allah to human beings, He has placed the responsibility on human beings. In this case, Allah (swt) will fulfill all His responsibilities and obligations towards mankind and no human being will have any question to accuse Allah (swt).

Therefore, because of Allah's attributes of Godhood, no human being will be able to ask Allah a question. Whoever asks a question will see that he has turned his back on Allah by being with his nafs, because Allah has made that person's question manifest. In this case, his own Book will come before him with the deeds he has committed and he will be told, "Read this Book of yours today, see what you have done.

O man! On the Day of Reckoning in the Hereafter, man's own soul will be sufficient as an accountant. No soul will be able to blame Allah and no soul will be wronged. Every soul will be held accountable for what it has earned.

How can Allah (swt) invite people to salvation so clearly and openly, informing every mind of the greatness of His Essence, introducing His Essence to every being, and yet human beings, the most honorable creation, how can they deny Allah? How can they turn their backs on Allah? Here is the world laid at your feet, waiting for you, at your disposal, giving itself to you as if you will never die. Until when? I remember that the people before us were also at your disposal like this, and most of them passed on to the hereafter, having fallen prey to this world, and now it is our turn to fall prey to this world, and Allah's command has come for you to be saved from the hands of the enemy. One day, with Allah's command, lives will come to an end, and the worldly life you thought was yours will be a dream. So return to your Lord, your Lord is pleased with you and you are pleased with your Lord, and enter Paradise among His servants.

What is said in the video

Surah Al-Isra, verse 14: Read your book. Today your own self suffices you as a reckoner, it says. It does not say I suffice; your self suffices. If Allah had said I suffice, there would not be a single one of the people of hell. He would lift them all out by His mercy. Your own self suffices you. That is, with the deeds you carried out, our Lord — Eleysallâhu bi ahkemi'l-hâkimîn — in His attribute as the Judge of judges, judging with justice, today, it says, no one (?), and what each person earned, his own (?) in return will be given to them in full. The verses. Yes. So: Your book read; today your own self suffices you as a reckoner. O man, the book sent to you by Allah, the Holy Quran, read it. Allah, with all events, has given good and evil, all kinds of examples in the Holy Quran. Every intellect He has created as one that knows His Being. With the Quran He sent to people, He has held a light before them.

Allah has proven His existence to people. Through Allah, free from every deficient attribute, making His existence known to people, He has placed the responsibility upon people. Now I am putting a full stop here.

This part, this verse, we will now compare with superstition. What is the superstition? These wretched people in the world who pass for scholars, who interpret the Quran — I am addressing them. You know, Allah will put whom He wills into paradise and whom He wills into hell. Look what the verse says. Read your book; today your own self suffices you as a reckoner, it says. If I, with my own self, with the deeds I carried out, earn rewards and sins, by what attribute did you have Allah put that person into paradise as He wills, and into hell as He wills? You made Allah discriminate among His servants.

You had those people's own will taken away from them. You had Allah use His own will over that person. And had Him put whom He wills into paradise and whom He wills into hell.

Yes. You understand, don't you, Habibi? Yes. These are the superstitions. (?), we will correct them here. If we are saying it (?), I call out to the scholars in the world. Whoever this scholar is, just as I enjoin the good on them and speak the truth, let them also enjoin the good on me and speak the truth. With verses. Yes. So, by making His existence known to people, He has placed the responsibility upon people. That is, if He left the person free in his own will and wrote his desire and wish, his aim, for him as destiny, and worked characters into him so as to carry out that destiny, and with those characters, when the time comes and the person has desires and wishes — this is Allah's attribute of being Allah; our minds cannot grasp it.

For every person He creates, He brings forth causes according to his desire and wish. According to those causes, people earn rewards and sins through their deeds. Who does this? Man, according to his own desire and wish, through the deeds he carries out by his desire, to prove what kind of person he is: the earning of rewards and sins is this. Yes.

Here you cannot ascribe it to Allah. Yes.

So, because of Allah's attributes as Allah, no person will be able to put any question to Allah. Should anyone ask a question, since Allah will have brought that person's question to light, the person will see that, by being with his nafs, he turned his back on Allah. In that case, his own book with the deeds he did will come before him, and it will be said: Today read this book, your book, that is, see what you did.

So we say: O man, in the realm of the hereafter, on that Day of Reckoning, a person's own self suffices him as reckoner; no soul will be able to blame Allah, and Allah will never, ever wrong any soul; every soul will be called to account for what it earned. What is this? Today a person commits a crime, they catch him, they bring him before the judge. The judge, according to his crime, gives a sentence of three years, five years, ten years, twenty years, I mean. Or he gives him life imprisonment. Doesn't he? He does. Well, this crime, I mean this sentence — did the judge give it himself? He was sentenced to that punishment in return for the crime he committed.

So, if a person turns his back on Allah — just as a person is obliged to obey the laws of the country, the state he lives in, if Allah Almighty too has made known His sacred law to the servants He created, and those who step outside these laws are punished or earn sin, and for acting within the framework of the laws will earn reward, and if tomorrow this too is to be called to account at the Great Court before Allah Almighty — then, just as Allah Almighty too — this person, for what he did in the world, to that life imprisonment was sentenced — if this person too has turned his back on Allah, has denied Allah and the hereafter, has become one of the eternal people of hell, did Allah punish him?

He, with his own self, exposed himself to that torment. So no one can impute guilt to Allah. So we say — those in this age who call themselves scholars, these wrongdoers, I call out to them. Whoever they may be, whatever their rank and position. These are not scholars but wrongdoers. If only they had informed people in this way. That every person is called to account before his Lord with his own deeds — if only they had made that known. That Allah will not put whom He wills into paradise and whom He wills into hell — had they put this into people's minds, would people today, with this faith, fear Allah or not?

Yes. Everyone, for his own worldly interest, beats his own drum. Tomorrow he will give his account at the Great Court before Allah Almighty. And I am obliged to warn them. And I am giving my warning. Those who listen to us are witnesses to this, and Allah is witness too. We are fulfilling our duty. Yes.

Allah Almighty invites people to salvation this clearly and plainly. He makes the identity of His Being known to every intellect. He introduces His Being to every creature, so how can man, the most honored of creation, deny Allah? How can they turn their backs on Allah? Look, the world is spread beneath your feet, as if you would never die on it, at your service. It has given itself to you; it waits.

Until when? After all, the world was at the service of those before us too, just like this. Most of them, deceived by this state of the world, passed on to the hereafter. Do not be deceived by this state of the world. The turn has come to us. To save you from the enemy's hand, Allah's command has come to you. One day, by the command of the Truth, lives will come to an end. And the worldly things you thought were yours will turn out to be a dream. So return to your Lord, your Lord pleased with you and you pleased with your Lord, enter among His servants, enter His paradise. Yes.
