This is a remembrance of your Lord’s mercy upon Allah’s servant Zachary.
Tafsir
Allah (swt) declares and explains His mercy to His servant Zakariyya by telling people about His mercy and the miracle that He showed on Zakariyya because of His mercy.
By mentioning the servant Zakariyya in this verse and showing people the miracles He performed on him, Allah (swt) shows people with His Verses that He is eternal and everlasting, that He is aware of the state of all His creatures and that He knows their states and actions, their desires and wishes. He makes His Verses clear to people to show them that there is no other god but Allah and that His creatures should return to Him and worship Him as their Lord. He also shows miracles by bringing parables, i.e. examples, in a way that every human being can understand. Allah (swt) also declares many miracles in this Surah. It proves to every rational person that these miracles are superhuman and that they can only be produced by a Creator, and that this Creator is Allah.
What is said in the video
Surah Maryam, the second verse: This is the mention of your Lord's mercy to His servant Zechariah. Zechariah (peace be upon him), he too is a prophet, the one who raised Mary. Well, in this situation, when he saw Mary always having food of Paradise before her: "Who brings you these?" And she says, "My Lord brings them." He prays to Allah Almighty: "Grant me a child too." Allah Almighty gives him the good news of John. We will tell about that too, if Allah wills.
So in Surah Maryam, because he raised Mary, Zechariah (peace be upon him) is mentioned here as well. Allah Almighty, the mercy He gave His servant Zechariah and, owing to that mercy, through His servant Zechariah the miracle He showed; by telling people of these, the mercy He gave this servant He declares and recounts. In this verse Allah Almighty, by mentioning His servant Zechariah and showing people the miracles He showed through him: that Allah is (?), (?) and everlasting, that He watches the state of all He created and knows their states and actions, their desires and wishes, this He shows people through His verses.
Zechariah (peace be upon him) also lived like this (?).
He tells that state to the Prophet through verses, just as it was. He sets forth the Holy Quran to people in the same way, so that with the people who will come until the Day of Judgment it speaks as if they stood right before Him, as today. Outwardly. But, of course, to one who understands, as he says, a mosquito is music; to one who does not, drum and pipe are not enough. Yes. Thank you. Zechariah (peace be upon him) wanted, because of kinship, to take Mary in, and the other scholars too, rather than give her to Zechariah (peace be upon him), declared that they would take her themselves; so they go to a stream and throw in their pens.
Whoever's pen, it says, comes up above the water will take Mary, it says. They throw their pens into the stream. The pen of Zechariah (peace be upon him) comes up above the water, and Zechariah (peace be upon him) takes her. So, seeing constant food before Mary, Allah Almighty (?). He granted me such a child too, you see.
These, of course, are each a miracle. Allah Almighty telling people past events as if they were today. What is it like? Its having (?). My father tells us an event he lived through in his youth: there, in that town, this happened, that happened, I did this, that one did that, this one did this, he tells us, relates it to us, and we relate it to those after us. So Allah Almighty, the Lord of the worlds, too, ve'l-evvelü ve'l-âhiru ve ez-zâhiru ve'l-bâtın, our Lord, who is the First and the Last, the Outward and the Inward, tells us of the past as if it were today and informs us. The only reason He informs us of this is, in every verse, to prove that there is no god other than Himself.
Yes.
That Allah is the First, (?) and everlasting, that He watches the state of all He created and knows their states and actions, their desires and wishes, He shows people through His verses. To show that there is no other god besides Allah, and that the servants He created should turn to Him and obey and worship Allah, their Lord, He makes His verses known clearly to people. Moreover, with comparisons, that is, examples, that every person can understand, He shows miracles. In this surah too Allah Almighty sets forth many miracles. That these miracles are superhuman, and that this could only be brought about by a Creator, and that He is Allah, He proves to every (?).
For example, Zechariah (peace be upon him), well,
says, "For me a sign that I will have a son," he says; he asks Allah Almighty for it. "You," He says, "will not be able to speak for three days."
Truly, for three days he cannot preach to people; he gestures with his hand, explains, cannot speak. This too is a miracle.
Allah Almighty informing a person and making him live what He informed, bringing it to life. And the confirmation of the word spoken shows the loftiness of Allah Almighty and His miracle.
