Tafsir
Give me such a son that he may be my heir. The heir here is not the inheritance of worldly wealth. He is the heir of knowledge and the mission that Allah has given to people to guide them. He is the heir of religion.
In his prayer, Hazrat Zakariyya prayed that he would be my successor, that is, that he would succeed me and inherit the duty and knowledge that you have given me by your Divine Essence, and that he would also succeed the House of Jacob. Let him explain to them and guide people. Also, make him worthy of your consent. That is, give me a son from those who love and obey you. He said, "Give me a son who will be worthy of Your pleasure.

Of the duty Allah gave people so that people are guided, and of knowledge, he is the heir. He is the heir of His religion. Yes. Whose heirs are the scholars? They are the heirs of the Prophet (peace be upon him). Yes. In his prayer Zechariah says: let him be my heir, that is, taking my place, to the duty and the knowledge given to me by the Divine Being let him be heir, and also heir to the House of Jacob. Let him tell them too. Let him guide people. And him, worthy of Your pleasure. He is now praying for him. A prophet again prays for a prophet. That is, grant me a child from those who love You and are (?) to You.
Give me a child who will be worthy of Your pleasure, he said. Yes.
