Tafsir

That is why Zakariyya 'alaihis-salâm asked Allah (swt) for a sign that he would have a child, so that he could be sure that the revelation was true. So Allah (swt) said to Zakariyya 'alaihis-salâm', "You will not be able to speak to the people for three days, even though you are intact", in order to reassure his heart.

What is said in the video

Surah Maryam, verse 10 He said, "My Lord, give me a sign that I will have a child." Now Zechariah (peace be upon him) is making a plea to Allah Almighty. "Your sign," He said, Allah said, "your sign is that you will not be able to speak to people for 3 days though you are perfectly healthy," He said. As a sign for you, He says, despite being healthy, you will not be able to communicate. So Zechariah (peace be upon him) asked Allah Almighty for a sign that he would have a child, to be sure of the truth of the revelation, and Allah Almighty, to reassure the heart of Zechariah (peace be upon him), told him: despite being perfectly healthy, for three days you will not be able to speak with people.
