Translation
Oh John! (We said) “Hold firmly to the Book (the Torah)” and We gave him wisdom while he was a child.
Tafsir
The meaning of Allah's telling Yahya to hold on to the Book with all his might is that Yahya was obedient to Allah in his covenant in proportion to the covenant he made with Allah, and that Allah gave Yahya knowledge as a child and made him fulfill his covenant.
In this respect, since Allah (swt) created the worlds with a program, the prayer of Hazrat Zakariyya, which is a part of this program, and the result is that the prayer of Zakariyya (peace be upon him) is accepted and Hazrat Yahya (peace be upon him) is given to Zakariyya (peace be upon him) as an obedient son.
What is said in the video
Yes, we come to the 12th verse. "O John" — now John is coming into the world — "to the Book, that is, the Torah, with all your strength hold fast, with all your strength," We said, "and while still a child We gave him knowledge and wisdom," it says, while still a child. Now, what is knowledge, what is wisdom? That is, here Allah Almighty, again in His verse, says: to whomever We give knowledge, We give wisdom.
Knowledge is His making known to you something you did not know. It is your learning it. That is called knowledge.
Wisdom, though, is grasping the subtleties within it. You learn knowledge, you repeat it like a parrot. But you don't know what it is. What is this like? I gave millions into your hand inside a closed box. You say: friends, there are millions in here. Or there is gold, or there are diamonds. You tell people. But in the open (?) you can grasp the depth of what is inside. Yet you only tell it outwardly. What you saw or what you heard. Wisdom, though: equipped with feelings, for the inspirations coming to you from the source of those feelings, in return, more broadly, more comprehensively, with discoveries, with sensing the future more, to people, Allah Almighty gives to the heart that wisdom. After that the person, based on that knowledge, tells it with those feelings.
The wisdom. This is wisdom.
(?) wisdom. Yes.
It is because Allah Almighty gave John knowledge as a child and brought him to his covenant, we say. It is because John, as a result of the covenant he gave Allah Almighty, was obedient to Allah in his covenant, and because Allah Almighty gave John knowledge as a child and brought him to his covenant. That is, in the covenant of Elestü bi Rabbiküm, in return for the pledge he gave there, the feelings Allah Almighty gave him while still a child. In this respect, since Allah Almighty created the worlds with a program, it is the prayer that Zechariah, a part of this program, would make, and in the end the acceptance of the prayer of Zechariah (peace be upon him), and John's being given to Zechariah (peace be upon him) as a (?) child.
