Then she came to her people carrying him. They said, “Oh Mary! Verily, you committed something awful.”
Tafsir
When the people of Hadrat Maryam, who were ignorant of the messenger and miracle sent by Allah (swt) to mankind, saw Hadrat Jesus (pbuh) in the lap of Hadrat Maryam, they began to look at Hadrat Maryam with evil eyes. They made suspicions about Hadrat Maryam and said, 'You have done a very bad deed. They accused Mary of unchastity.
Living beings are created by the fertilization of male and female sperm as a Divine law. Since Hadrat Maryam was a virgin, and since the people of Hadrat Maryam were unaware of the miracle that Allah (swt) was going to create on Hadrat Maryam, they said to Maryam that you have done a very disgusting thing. They judged according to normal divine law.
Allah is the Creator and Creator out of nothing. Allah proves His existence to human beings with superhuman qualities and miracles He creates. However, whoever has made a good covenant in the previous address (Elestu bi Rabbikum) will fulfill what Allah commands him in this world. And whoever has broken his covenant, words and miracles will not avail him.
What is said in the video
We have come to Surah Maryam, verse 27.
At last she brought him to her people, carrying him in her arms. Who? Mary. That is, carrying Jesus (peace be upon him) in her arms, to her people she came. They said: O Mary, you have truly done a hideous thing. Yes.
In the time of Jesus, the book before him, what was it? It was the Psalms. The Psalms. Brought by David. They followed the Psalms. What was the book before that? The Torah. It was what Moses brought. Since they knew Allah's command, for them too there is stoning for adultery in the book. Yes. In fact, to the Prophet — two Jews known as noble, respected Jews, noble as they were, so that they would not be stoned, they say: go and consult Muhammad. If he says stoning, it says, don't comply, come back. If he decides on something other than stoning, it says, comply. They come to the Prophet (peace be upon him).
They explain the situation. The Prophet says: Why did you come to me? Is it not written in your book? he says. How well he puts it. So, in their books, also before Jesus, stoning existed in all the books; in this case, falling into evil thoughts about Mary, they insult Mary. What do they say? O Mary! You have truly done a hideous thing. Yes. Unaware of the (?) and the miracle that Allah Almighty sent to people, Mary's people, when they saw Jesus (peace be upon him) in Mary's arms, began to look at Mary with ill eyes. Making assumptions about our mother Mary, they said: You have done a very bad deed.
They accused Mary of unchastity. Living beings, by a divine law, come into existence through fertilization from male and female seed. But since Mary was a virgin, of the miracle that Allah Almighty would create in Mary Mary's people being unaware, they said to Mary: You have done a very hideous thing. They judged according to the normal divine law. They judged according to the books in their hands, according to divine law. Allah Almighty also says in a verse, about Jesus: The creation of Jesus, He says, is just like the creation of Adam.
He too was created without a father. Yes.
Allah is the One who brings into being from nothing, the Creator. Allah, through the miracles He creates with the superhuman qualities of His Being, proves His existence to people. But whoever gave a good pledge earlier, in the covenant of Elestü bi Rabbiküm, fulfills in the world what Allah has commanded him. And whoever gave a bad pledge, words and miracles are of no use to him. Why? He says: This is a great sorcerer. He says: This is a great soothsayer. Yes. Or he says: This is a man possessed, a madman. They make slanders. But if you show them something to associate as a partner, a second object of worship besides Allah, they immediately say (?) to it.
Because their pledge is like that.
