“My dear father, verily, knowledge that did not come to you came to me. So, follow me so that I can lead you to the straight path.”
Tafsir
Hazrat Ibrahim continues to tell his father. O my father! The knowledge that did not come to you has come to me. That is, Allah is one, there is no god but Him. It is Allah who is worthy of worship. Those whom you worship are Allah's creatures, and I fear that by associating partners with Allah you will worship Satan and go with him to Hell, the place of torment.
So, O my father, follow me so that I may lead you on the straight path, that is, I may awaken you from the heedlessness and delusion you are in, and I may show you the Truth. So that you may see that you too are in falsehood and heedlessness, so that we may worship Allah, the only One, and the One who created us out of nothing, the One who created us so that we may know the Essence of Allah, and the One who has made us the addressees of His Essence, so that we may receive His mercy.
What is said in the video
We have come to the forty-third verse. Something was skipped there.
My dear father, truly knowledge has come to me that has not come to you, he says. He says it to his father. That is, from my Lord some revelation was made known to me.
Knowledge was given. Let's not say revelation, knowledge was given. Knowledge. Because Abraham has no book. He was not given a book. But he was given knowledge. Prophets. Well, righteous people. So follow me, that I may guide you to the straight path, he says.
Now this is something people object to a lot, a matter over which people object a lot. A verse. What does it say? My dear father, truly knowledge has come to me that has not come to you. Well, apart from the people who learn from each other by reading, my Lord has given me knowledge too. He gave it to you without reading. Same verse, same path. Are you a prophet? (?) prophethood has come to you. Well, how does it come to you? It comes in two ways. One: scholars are the heirs of the prophets. Is that so? Two: most people do not know inspiration.
In this case, Allah Almighty, the servant He wills — don't say "whom He wills" but "who wills", that is, people who in their time gave Allah Almighty a good pledge: when they come to the earth and, after a certain time, are to begin their duty on earth, Allah Almighty raises them.
Apart from people.
Now, the Prophet was a shepherd, you know. He was ummi. Ummi.
We mostly understand ummi like this: We say a person who cannot read or write is ummi. That's what we say, isn't it? If the shepherd in the mountains can't read or write, is he ummi too? Ignorant. In ignorance.
Of course he has a faith of his own, so we can't call him ignorant for that, but he is not ummi.
The true meaning of ummi: a person who, in a branch of knowledge, was trained not by anyone but by Allah Himself — that person is ummi. Shall I say it again? Huh? Who will say what I said? Who will repeat it? You? I will, sir. By all means. A person who, in a branch of knowledge, was trained by no one, only by Allah — such a person is called ummi. Word for word. Well done. So this is ummi. The meaning of ummi. In this case, how many kinds of knowledge does it turn out there are? The outer and the inner. The outer and the inner. Whoever denies the inner denies the inspiration Allah gives to people's hearts.
And by denying the scholars Allah has raised, saying such a thing cannot be, he goes toward attributing qualities to Allah. He attributes deficient attributes to Allah. Such as? Allah does not give inspiration to anyone's heart. Well, if Allah gives no inspiration to anyone's heart, I'm asking you now. You will use your minds.
They think they will put out Allah's light with the blowing of their mouths. Allah will complete His light until the Day of Judgment, it says. How will He complete it? Now I'm asking. Will He complete it with the superstitions that have entered here now?
With the mistakes they have (?) in this Quran, will Allah Almighty complete His religion until the Day of Judgment? Yes. Look at these mistakes.
Which page do you want?
Will He complete His religion with these superstitions?
So Allah raises a spiritual scholar. With it the scholar proclaims the truth to people, and His word that for what We have not proclaimed We call no one to account comes to light. If, with these superstitions, Allah will not proclaim His religion until the Day of Judgment, people under the rule of superstitions, with the sins they committed amid superstitions, what will they say to Allah Almighty? If only You had sent me a scholar, it says; indeed, if only You had sent me a scholar, I would have followed You. Well, since Allah Almighty will not send another prophet, if He does not send a scholar either, when these superstitions, these enemies of religion, those who follow in Satan's footsteps with the feelings of the nafs, drag these people after them, how will Allah complete His religion until the Day of Judgment?
I ask you.
So Allah Almighty sends among people people trained by His Essence as scholars, and every two hundred years has the falsehoods removed from religion. The falsehoods, and His religion until the Day of Judgment in its true meanings; according to the verse "for what He has not proclaimed I call no one to account", we continue.
Yes. Now the situation is clear, I suppose.
Hodja, may I ask something? If revelation is given, prophets are also given a book.
Hodja, when revelation comes, then to the prophets (?) to the prophets a book is also given. All others besides them are given inspiration. Is that right, Hodja? Yes.
Revelation is the verses. It is verse.
Inspiration is the meanings of the verses. Revelation comes to the prophet. To the prophet. What comes is revelation. This Quran is the word of Allah. Through the Prophet (peace be upon him), our Lord sent the Quran as a mercy to all the worlds. Because He knows whether people can understand this Quran or not, He raises scholars and sends them to them. Since no prophet will come again. He raises scholars, and these scholars explain these Quranic verses, the Quranic verses, to people with their meanings. With their meanings. And here, whichever page we open, there is a mistake, I mean. There is a wrong (?).
Whichever page you open. Every page is full like this. The pages are all full. Well, there are mistakes like this on every page. Now if these are corrected, if they are corrected, people, knowing it exactly as the truth, will continue on their way. After that, it depends on the person's own character or destiny. Since Allah Almighty does not call to account for what He has not proclaimed, lest that person say to Me, "You, this verse... this man simply went astray, I knew it this way, I did it this way", He raises and sends a scholar; (?) Allah Almighty. And what does that person do? Every two hundred years, by removing this falsehood, by removing falsehood from religion, he shows people a path toward the truth.
Now, in this case, the people of whom Allah Almighty said "the passing of scholars to the Hereafter is like the sun leaving and darkness coming" are people raised by our Lord Himself. Yes. The scholars. In this case, if a person follows his nafs, his nafs, and sets his eyes on rank and position, if the swamp of this world, the flowers of the zaqqum tree growing in the middle of Hell, appear adorned to him, then in this world, even if the person has faith in his heart, the faith in his chest falls back by a speck. He turns his back on the truth. Living intertwined with the world, he goes to the Hereafter carrying a burden of sin.
Yes. Thus Allah Almighty says: for what We have not proclaimed We call no one to account. Now you could ask me a question like this:
Hodja, you remove falsehoods well, but how many people here listen to you? Where will your voice reach? If you say that: after Abraham repaired the House of Allah, Allah Almighty said to Abraham, call My servants here. O my God, he says, how far can my voice reach, he says. The calling is up to you, He says. Its being heard is up to Me. If Allah raised someone charged with removing falsehoods from religion and sent him, and he completes this work, explains the truth and proclaims it to people, that person is doing his duty. Allah Almighty will do His part too. He will make it heard by people. Yes, and He is making it heard; before I even wrote this, what did I tell you? "I will make you heard by the seven states", He said. Did I tell you this? "I will make it heard by the seven states." I hadn't even written these yet.
Yes. He is making it heard and will make it heard. One of Allah's attributes is patience; unlike us, it's not done quick, quick, quick, quick, quick and finished. Even when creating the worlds, He (?) a time. He had it written. Every two hundred years a falsehood comes out, you know; He had it written. First, too, time will make it heard by people. He will not call anyone to account for what He has not proclaimed. Yes.
We continue our lesson. My dear father, truly knowledge has come to me that has not come to you. So follow me, that I may guide you to the straight path, he says. Abraham goes on explaining to his father. O my father, knowledge that has not come to you has come to me. That is, Allah is One. There is no god other than Him. And the one worthy of worship is Allah. And these things you worship are Allah's creations. And by associating partners with Allah, I fear you will worship Satan and, together with him, go to Hell, the place of torment.
Yes.
You could ask me a question like this: How do you know Abraham said it like this?
Knowledge is one. The path of reason is also one.
If knowledge is one, that knowledge is La İlahe İllallah. And this is the meaning of La İlahe İllallah. If the path of knowledge is one, if knowledge says there is no god other than Allah, if La İlahe İllallah means that too, then: O my father, follow me, that I may guide you to the straight path.
So what does Abraham say? He goes on explaining to his father, to his father: O my father, knowledge that has not come to you has come to me. That is, Allah is One. There is no god other than Him. And the one worthy of worship is Allah. And these things you worship are Allah's creations. And by associating partners with Allah, I fear you will worship Satan and, together with him, go to Hell, the place of torment.
Yes. So, O my father, follow me, that I may guide you to the straight path. That is, let me awaken you from the heedlessness and error you are in. Let me show you the truth. And may you see that you are in falsehood and heedlessness, so that the One Allah, the Allah who created us from nothing so that we may know His Essence, the Allah who created us, (?), we may worship, so that they may attain His mercy.
