On that Day, your Lord will summon them and the ones that they have been worshipping other than Allah, and Say: “Did you make these servants of Mine go astray, or did they go astray themselves?”
Tafsir
On that day in the Hereafter, on the Day of Reckoning, on the Day of Judgment, when Allah gathers all the people, Allah (swt) will gather those who worship other than Allah (swt). And He will set their idols in front of them and ask them, "Did you lead these servants of mine astray, or did they themselves go astray? In this verse, the word "worshipped" means the gathering of all the objects that people worship other than Allah. These objects of worship are inanimate idols and animate idols, such as Jesus Christ or Uzeyr, whom they associate with Allah and call sons of Allah. Although some commentators have differentiated between those who worship inanimate and those who worship animate beings, Allah's word is general and complete. It means the gathering together, without any distinction, of the objects worshipped by the disbelievers and polytheists besides Allah, without any distinction between living and non-living things.
A question may arise here. How can inanimate objects speak to Allah (swt)? Allah (swt) has given miracles to some Prophets and they have spoken to trees, wolves and birds. For example, He gave the winds at the command of Prophet Solomon, and he used to talk to wolves, birds and jinn. Allah can make the living and the dead speak. Allah has knowledge. He fulfills what He wills. In the time of the Prophet (pbuh), trees spoke to the Prophet (pbuh) and testified to his Prophethood.
What is said in the video
We have come to verse 17 of Surah Al-Furqan.
On that day your Lord gathers them and what they worship besides Allah and says: Was it you who led these servants of Mine astray, or did they themselves stray from the path? Now people worship idols. The beings that Allah, our Lord, created, with their hands they (?) and worship them. Look at this mind.
Beings capable of nothing, without soul or life — (?) them, the Lord he imagined, in its imagined form, in bodily shape, bringing it into being and serving it, serving that lifeless being, he tries to prove what a lowly being he is. In this case Allah Almighty will summon what they worshipped and make them speak. What will He say? Was it you who said that there is another god besides Allah? Was it you who told them "I am your god"? Or did they, of themselves, did they themselves stray from the path and put you in the place of a god like this? Then what will happen? They will say — those worshipped materials will say: we were not even aware of ourselves, so how would we know, they will say.
Now those verses will come next. Yes.
On that day in the Hereafter, on that Day of Reckoning, on the Day of Gathering when Allah gathers all people, Allah Almighty brings together those who worship others besides Allah. He also sets up before them the idols they worshipped and asks the idols. Was it you who led these servants of Mine astray, or did they themselves stray from the path? He says. In this verse, by "what they worship" is meant the gathering of the objects that people, besides Allah, (?) worship. These worshipped objects are lifeless idols and, worshipped as living, Jesus or Ezra and the like, whom they associated with Allah and called the son of Allah.
Again, though some exegetes distinguished these as lifeless, and others as those who worship the living, that is, this — look at how (?). Those who worship besides Allah — whether living, whether the living one. What did they do? Some are worshippers of the living, the others not. Some are worshippers of the lifeless, the others not — saying this, that is, they tried to confuse matters. What does it say? Again, though some exegetes distinguished these as lifeless, and some as worshippers of the living, Allah's word is general and (?). Without any distinction, it means the things that the unbelievers and polytheists worship besides Allah being brought together without distinguishing living and lifeless.
Yes.
These are writings written with an agenda. He will not question the living, that is, He will not question Jesus.
That is, since He does not question them, worshipping them is fine — in that sense. Yet in the verse, to Jesus too: Was it you who said, "I am the son of Allah and I too am a god" — was it you who said it? And he: God forbid. You know me. Well, as long as I lived, I was, well, a watcher over them. After I passed to the Hereafter, You are the watcher over them. They are Your servants — so he will call out to Allah Almighty. So the living and lifeless worshipped, all of them, Allah Almighty will question and interrogate. Yes.
Here a question like this may come to our minds. How will lifeless objects speak to Allah Almighty? Through the miracles Allah Almighty gave some prophets, they spoke with trees, wolves, birds. For example, He put the winds under the command of the Prophet Solomon. Also, wolves and birds used to speak with jinn. Allah makes the living speak, and the lifeless too. Allah is the possessor of knowledge. He carries out what He wills. In the time of the Prophet (peace be upon him) too, trees spoke with the Prophet (peace be upon him) and bore witness to his prophethood. Yes.
From these verses we understand this.
People with Allah Almighty — Elhamdülillah. Yerhamükallah. Yehdina ve yehdikümullah. How is it that people must believe in Allah Almighty, how is it required? Here, for people to be able to believe in Allah, man needs to use his mind. Every mind knows that it was created by someone. This leads man to reflection. If there were another god besides Allah — and our Lord holds this up to people too as a (?) — that one would take what he created, the other would take what he created, and the world would drown in corruption. And this is such a knowledge: Allah Almighty, who created the whole universe and all superhuman beings, is in His essence the sole possessor of knowledge, and surely, although He created us humans, as I said before, it is not in the sense of "like animals, eat, drink, have intercourse and live." Man's duty toward his Lord and his own purpose of creation is, together with this creation, well, toward the Creator to render his gratitude.
And for the blessings our Lord has given us, He commands us to offer praise and glorification to Allah Almighty. In these verses, always toward our Lord, to use our minds and, with our minds, as possessors of true faith, toward Allah Almighty, our Lord, to fulfil our duty — this He tries to make known to us through His verses. On that Day of Reckoning. What does it say?
