Verily, you have (said) something awful!
Tafsir
Those who do not believe in Allah and the Hereafter, and those who associate partners with Allah, have brought forth something very ugly. Allah (swt) says that they have introduced something very ugly, meaning that they have pioneered shirk for the people who will come after them. These people, besides denying Allah and the Hereafter, besides associating partners with Allah, they also said that Allah has made a child. By slandering Allah, they became guides for people of the same character and covenant. They made it easier for those who came after them with the same idea and covenant. Out of hatred and enmity against Allah, they slander Allah without hesitation.
