Ta-Ha.
Tafsir
Since the Word of Allah (swt) is based on letters, no meaning is given to such Muqaddah Verses. Although some commentators say that such Muqaddah Verses are not given a meaning, they take examples from other commentators and say that this letter means this, this letter means this, and another meaning is this. They interpret such verses. These Verses are not interpreted and their meanings are not given. Only those who have a crookedness in their hearts seek after such mutabbih verses to create sedition and interpret them. However, only Allah knows its interpretation. For more information, refer to Volume One, Surah Al-Imrân, Verse seven.
What is said in the video
Verse 1 of Surah Ta-Ha: what does Allah Almighty say in the verse? Tâ-Hâ. Well, what is this? They are muqatta verses. Muqatta: what does muqatta mean? These are not given a meaning.
Let us read verse 7 of Surah Al-Imran. Let's see what it says about these muqatta verses, what does it say? Verses are of two kinds anyway. One is the muqatta verses, the other the mutashabih verses. The mutashabih verses form the foundation of the Quran. The muqatta verses are not given a meaning; only people with sedition in their hearts try to give them a meaning. And Allah Almighty says it so beautifully in the verse.
Surah Al-Imran, verse 7, what does it say? Allah, who sent down the Book to the unlettered one, the Messenger, firmly sent down the Book without any alteration.
That's right. Let me read this part once more. I want to draw your attention here. Listen well. Allah, who sent down the Book to the unlettered one, that is, to the Messenger: the one who sent the Book down firmly, without any alteration, is He. Well, now I ask you. Does the one who says there is (?) in the Quran deny this verse or not?
Yes. For years we have been shouting: there is no (?) in the Quran. Still, blindly, having fallen into Satan's trap, having deified their own nafs, those poor people who think they are scholars still about (?) talk. Well then, so, this verse He replaced with that verse. Blessed man, look what Allah says: if, about the Prophet (peace be upon him), Allah Almighty says he does not speak from (?), if He says that the prophet He created as a human being, and created fallible compared to His essence, does not speak from (?), with what knowledge of yours do you say there is (?) in the Quran? You (?) Allah.
You contradict this verse of Allah. What does it say? Allah, who sent down the Book to the unlettered one, the Messenger, firmly, without any alteration, sent down the Book. It is He who sent it down. Some of it, the verses, are clear and definite as the foundations of the Quran, it says. That is, they are sharia rulings, and Allah Almighty addresses people with His sharia rulings. And some of the verses are mutashabih. Mutashabih.
Those with doubts in their hearts, to stir up sedition, according to their own minds give a meaning to these mutashabih verses, and the message of the verses they follow. But only Allah knows the interpretation of the mutashabih. That is, mutashabih messages. I think we said it wrong earlier. We said these mutashabih verses are the foundation of the Quran, but they are not. The mutashabih verses are the verses we call muqatta verses. Yes. Allah knows. We, steeped in our knowledge... Those steeped in our knowledge, however: we believe in it, all the verses, clear and veiled, are from our Lord, they say.
Only those who (?) and enter through the door of that knowledge know these. So, those who try to give meaning to the mutashabih verses, these poor people, in whose hearts is sickness, are people who have fallen for the claim of the ego. May Allah protect us from such whims. Yes.
Now, what are we saying? We are talking about Surah Ta-Ha, verse 1. So the mutashabih verses, which we call muqatta verses, no one can give a meaning to. If they try to give them meaning, these are people with sickness in their hearts, with disease in them. I won't say his name.
One of them gives a meaning to Elif, Lâm, Mîm. He says this has three meanings.
God forbid.
If their meaning is known only by Allah, even if you say a thousand meanings, even if you make Allah's verses look far more meaningful, you cannot give them a meaning. What are we saying? Since Allah Almighty's word is based on letters, such muqatta verses are not given a meaning. For example Elif, Lâm, Mîm, Tâ, Hâ, Yâsîn: what are these? What meaning do they make? Perhaps, Allah knows best, there are secrets of creation in them.
In this case, if Allah Almighty has sealed these like a formula, if the keys of the unseen are in Allah Almighty's hand, it is not possible for you to give them a meaning. If you tried to give these muqatta verses a meaning, you would have solved the secrets in the Quran; some poor people say: I have solved the secret of the Quran, I have solved its formula, trained, without knowing it themselves, by outside sources, or by another ideology that has shown them the way: people, to draw people away from Islam and to turn toward themselves those living unaware of the Quran, raising such people and setting them on such people to turn those people from their path: a path the non-Muslims have taken.
And with such people, trying to confuse Allah's verses, poor people. Allah Almighty says they strive. They strive, and their striving We, in an instant, He says, destroy with the coming of the truth, He says. To the poor people who want to spread falsehood over the truth, Allah Almighty, the truth when He brings, beside the truth falsehood vanishes. Yes.
Although some exegetes say that such muqatta verses are not given a meaning, taking examples from some exegetes, this letter means this, that letter means that, in another sense it is this, they say. They give such verses meanings. These verses are not interpreted, nor are they given a meaning. Only those with crookedness in their hearts, to stir up sedition and to interpret it, go after such mutashabih verses. Yet only Allah knows its interpretation. For more information, volume one, Surah Al-Imran, verse 7, should be consulted, we said; we have already read it anyway. The meanings there are deep too.
Yes.
