Translation

“So, they will understand my speech.”

Tafsir

When Hazrat Musa 'alaihis-salâm' addressed people, he asked Allah (swt) to untie his tongue so that his words would be better understood. It is not because he is uncomfortable with the lisp on his tongue.

The prophets know very well that our accidents in our bodies do not exist in our souls. Since the world is temporary, our bodily defects are a test of Allah's mercy given to human beings. In this respect, the Prophets are content with what Allah has given them, regardless of their bodily deficiencies. But if the duty is to be done for Allah, and if the bodily impairments are a hindrance to the duties to be performed, then they can ask Allah to remove these impairments, like Hazrat Musa 'alaihis-salâm', so that they can explain and introduce Allah to people in a more beautiful way.

So Hazrat Musa 'alaihis-salâm' asked Allah (swt) to remove this land so that his words would be better understood and more effective.

What is said in the video

In the 28th verse it continues: "so that they may understand my speech." Yes. You know, there is a way of explaining haltingly. When a person, from some people who speak like this, who stutter, listens to something, he gets a little bored, if that person has no patience. But between the fluency of a person speaking normally and one who speaks with a lisp there is a difference. Wishing that Allah Almighty would undo the lisp of his tongue, Moses (peace be upon him), so that his words would be better understood when he addressed people, asked Allah Almighty to untie the knot of his tongue. It was not because he was troubled by the lisp in his tongue.

A person, within his own way of living, his own world, has grown used to it. There are stutterers who live more peacefully than you or me. I mean, (?) their way of telling things is more comfortable for them, for example. This prophet is not complaining about the (?) of his tongue. But he asks for this so that he can speak more beautiful words to people. The prophets (?) very well that the ailments of our bodies are not in our souls. There is no such ailment in the soul. Our bodies are the soul's mount. In bodies, through some deficiency, substance, or a deficiency of (?), some bodily ailments may arise.

But the soul is not like that. Our souls are whole. They lack nothing.

Yes. Since the world is temporary, our bodily ailments are a test that Allah's mercy gives to people. For this reason, the prophets too pay no heed to bodily shortcomings and are content with what Allah gives. But if a duty is to be done for Allah, and the bodily ailments in this duty would be an obstacle to the duties to be done, then, like Moses (peace be upon him), praying to Allah, so as to make Allah known by explaining Him more beautifully to people, one may ask Allah to remove these ailments. For example, we too make requests of Allah. We say, "O Lord, so that I can explain You well, do not withhold Your inspiration from me," I say.

For example, if I had a lisp, I would say, "Untie my tongue so that I may explain You more beautifully." These are matters of (?) for Allah's sake.
