Ta-Ha 39: “Lay Moses down in the cradle, then leave him to the sea (the Nile). The sea shall cast him to the shore and someone who is an enemy towards Me and an enemy towards him (Moses) shall take him.” (Oh Moses) I have given affection to you from Myself so that you will be raised under My sight.

Translation

“Lay Moses down in the cradle, then leave him to the sea (the Nile). The sea shall cast him to the shore and someone who is an enemy towards Me and an enemy towards him (Moses) shall take him.” (Oh Moses) I have given affection to you from Myself so that you will be raised under My sight.

Tafsir

Allah (swt) put in the heart of the mother of Hazrat Musa 'alaihis-salâm' the way of his salvation from death by saying, "Put Moses in the chest; then let him go into the sea (the Nile). The sea will throw him on the shore so that someone who is my enemy and someone who is hostile to me and hostile to him (Moses) will take him." Allah (swt) inspired and revealed to the heart of the mother of Hazrat Musa 'alaihis-salâm' the way to save him from death. The mother of Hadrat Musa 'alaihis-salâm' built a chest, swaddled the newborn Hadrat Musa 'alaihis-salâm', placed him in the chest and left him in the Nile river. With the flow of the river, with the permission of Allah (swt), she brought the chest containing Hazrat Musa 'alaihis-salâm' to Pharaoh's garden and left it on the shore. His sister Maryam followed the ark and saw that it had been thrown ashore in Pharaoh's garden and taken by the women of Pharaoh's household. Thereupon Allah gave the women a feeling of love and compassion for Hazrat Moses. Pharaoh's wives asked Pharaoh's permission not to kill the child. Pharaoh also loved the child and Hazrat Musa 'alaihis-salâm' was saved from being killed.

In this case, they looked for a milk mother for the child. But Hazrat Musa 'alaihis-salâm' did not suck the milk of any of them. Hearing that they were looking for a milk mother for the child, Maryam came to the palace and recommended the mother of Hadrat Musa 'alaihis-salâm'. Thereupon, the mother of Hadrat Musa 'alaihis-salâm' was brought to the palace. By sucking his mother's breast, Hazrat Musa 'alaihis-salâm' was reunited with his own mother as a miracle of Allah.

(O Moses, I have given you love from Myself so that you may be loved and brought up in My care); In this verse, He says, "I have given you love from Myself". Since Hazrat Musa 'alaihis-salâm' was a Prophet in accordance with the covenant he had made in the past (kalu bela), Allah (swt) raising Hazrat Musa 'alaihis-salâm' in the realm of property according to his covenant is his speaking with his Self in the worldly realm. In other words, it is the Word of Allah.

Surah Ta-Ha, verse 39 has an error. In the verse, in one translation, there is a wrong interpretation. Let's see, where is the part of the word Ta-Ha that was wrongly interpreted? Let us open our Holy Quran here in front of us. Yes. Yes. Let's open it here.

Ta-Ha Surah, which verse? 38 yes the wrong version we're reading here: Put Moses in the chest, then into the sea, leave him in the Nile. Let the sea cast him onto the shore, so that an enemy of Mine and an enemy of his takes him.

"My enemy", it says. Allah is no one's enemy. Know it like this. The unbelievers worship idols, they do this to it, they do that, they associate partners. If Allah were an enemy, it would be as if He were equipped with feelings of the nafs, and attributed with a deficient attribute.

O Moses, so that you would be loved and raised under My watch, I gave you love from Myself, He says. Now, the correct version of this verse: Put Moses in the chest. Then leave him in the sea, the Nile. Let the sea cast him onto the shore, so that one hostile to Me and to him. Hostile to Me and to him. See, Allah is no one's enemy. Here: "My enemy". Allah, Allah. Is Allah Almighty not powerful enough, that He takes His creatures as His enemies? Astonishing. That they attribute such qualities to Allah Almighty, bringing Him exactly to a human state — the way people are enemies to people, you know — perceiving Him in that state.

May Allah set them right. Whereas here, isn't there "hostile to Me", hostile to Allah? Aduvvallâhi ve aduvvekum. Your enemies and the enemy of Allah, it says. The verse. They interpreted this wrongly too. "Allah's enemies", it says.

They interpreted this wrongly too, anyway. Whereas the meaning of that verse (?) is: your enemies and the enemy of Allah. My enemies: my nafs, the world and Satan.

Against this we have three friends. What are they? Reason, faith and the inspiration Allah gives us. Whichever one you are with, you choose its side. Now, so: "Let one who is hostile to Me and to him," to Moses, "hostile, take him. O Moses, so that you would be loved and raised under My watch, I gave you love from Myself," He says. Love. Allah Almighty has in fact given all prophets His love. All prophets. In this case, Allah Almighty says in His verse that it is not possible for any prophet to call people to himself. Yes. And He says it beautifully. Because He made a covenant with them: I will send you as the elder, the father of your peoples, as messengers at the same time to your peoples.

Do you accept? We do, they say. And Allah Almighty says: I too am among the witnesses with you. Before people were created, first from the spirit of the Prophet (peace be upon him) — let's not say before people were created, but after the prophets were created, before creating people from the spirits of the prophets, He makes a covenant with the prophets. Then from their spirits He creates the spirits of their peoples. Yes. Yes.

Allah Almighty, what was to be revealed no. We read that. We are reading verse 39. Then we will explain it, God willing. Put Moses in the chest. Then leave him in the sea, the Nile. Let the sea cast him onto the shore, so that one hostile to Me and to him, to Moses, may take him. O Moses! So that you would be loved and raised under My watch, so that you would be raised under My watch, I gave you love from Myself, He says. Into the heart of the mother of Moses (peace be upon him), Allah Almighty — "Put Moses in the chest. Then leave him in the sea, the Nile. Let the sea cast him onto the shore, so that one hostile to Me and hostile to him may take him" — saying this, the way of the rescue of Moses (peace be upon him) from death, into the heart of Moses's mother, Allah Almighty made known by inspiration.

The mother of Moses (peace be upon him) has a chest made, swaddles the newborn Moses (peace be upon him), places him in the chest and leaves him in the river Nile. The river, with its current, by the permission of Allah Almighty, brings the chest with Moses (peace be upon him) in it to Pharaoh's garden and leaves it on the shore. Thereupon his sister Miriam follows the chest. She sees that the chest has come ashore in Pharaoh's garden and that the women of Pharaoh's household have taken it. Thereupon Allah gives the women, toward Moses (peace be upon him), feelings of love and compassion. Pharaoh's wives, so that the child would not be killed, permission from Pharaoh (?). Pharaoh too comes to love the child, and Moses (peace be upon him) is saved from being killed.

Here, "that I gave love from Myself" also has many meanings. For example, His making a person beloved to His servants. So, by the enemies of the child who was to be killed, love toward the child (?). It has this meaning too. But since the Turkish words have no equivalent — that is, the Arabic words have no equivalents — we can also interpret them this way.

In this situation they look for a wet nurse for the child. But Moses (peace be upon him) does not nurse from any of them. When a wet nurse is sought for the child, Miriam, hearing that one is being sought, comes to the palace and recommends to them the mother of Moses (peace be upon him). Thereupon the mother of Moses (peace be upon him) is brought to the palace. Of course his mother was recommended, but she doesn't introduce her as his mother. She is presented, you know, as a wet nurse. Moses (peace be upon him), nursing at his mother's breast, is reunited with his own mother as a glad tiding from Allah.

O Moses, so that you would be loved and raised under My watch, I gave you love from Myself, He says. There: "that you be loved". That love — Allah Almighty, to make people love Moses — let them say it is a love He gave. Yes. That is, it will save him from death. In this verse, His saying "I gave you love from Myself": since Moses (peace be upon him), earlier at Qalu Bala, was a prophet according to the covenant he gave, it is Allah Almighty, in his material world, raising Moses (peace be upon him) according to his covenant, and in the earthly world, His speaking with him in His own person. That is, we have said, it is his being Kalimullah.

It has many meanings. I said so a moment ago too. This is one of the meanings. Since in the outward meaning it is written for the general public according to people's understanding, we record it this way. Yes.
