Translation

Verily, We have shown to him (Pharaoh) all Our signs but he resited and kept denying.

Tafsir

Allah (swt) showed Pharaoh all His proofs through Hazrat Musa 'alaihis-salâm' and Pharaoh continued to deny Allah (swt) even though he was convinced that Allah (swt) existed and that he was created by Allah (swt).

Allah swears by His Essence that although Pharaoh knew that Allah (swt) existed, he could not give up his self-proclaimed claim of divinity, being captive to his ego and arrogance. However, Allah does not want any being to be a partner to Him. For Allah is the Creator of this universe and the Ruler and Absolute Power over His creation. If people associate Allah's creatures as partners to Allah (swt), they are doing injustice to Allah (swt). In this case, people will be plunged into a depression and a quagmire. Pharaoh, one of the incomplete and helpless beings who are dependent on Allah, has entered into shirk by claiming godhood and being stubborn and resistant against Allah (swt).

What is said in the video

Surah Ta-Ha, verse 56: "Truly" — now Allah Almighty is swearing, by Himself — "Truly We showed him, that is, Pharaoh, all these proofs of Ours."

Seven miracles: sending locusts, sending drought, Moses' hand coming out white, his staff eating, turning into blood, that is, the waters being turned into blood — that is, He gives all the miracles. Each time he says, "I believed in Moses' Lord." Allah Almighty lifts it from them. Allah Almighty doesn't act according to his words. He knows too. Allah Almighty knows he won't believe. But so that he would have nothing left to say. At the very end, while crossing the Red Sea — you know, he was going to catch Moses together with his army —

when the two seas began to come together, he says, "I believed in the Lord of Moses."

"Here," He says, "you believed?

Despite seeing so many miracles, you did not believe. Now, here, you believed? I will," He says, "as a lesson for the worlds," He says, "your lifeless body," He says, "today leave here," He says. A lesson for the worlds. And in the what's-it, (?) in the museum, in England, in (?) there's his thing, his picture.

Here — if I can find some verses, I'll read them to you now.

In Surah Yunus, verse 92: "O Pharaoh! So that you may be a lesson to those who come after you, today We will save your body, lifeless. Indeed, many of the people are truly heedless of Our signs," He says.

Today, if in this verse of the Quran you had not believed, if you had thought there was a deficiency in the word of Allah, who created the worlds — thought so. Thought so — would you, according to this verse, have searched for Pharaoh's corpse in the Red Sea and found it? I'm asking now. So the scoundrel knows that Allah exists. He also knows the Quran is true. He also knows the Quran is the word of Allah. He also knows there can be no deficiency in Allah. But look at the pride and arrogance — he denies Allah. And still he doesn't turn to Allah's creations.

Yes. He doesn't turn to the verses. "It is out of their arrogance and pride," He says, "that they denied Allah."

Now people say: "Can Allah ever be denied out of arrogance and pride?" they say. Well, is Allah lying in His verse?

I have seen it, I bear witness. Witness. "They denied out of their arrogance and pride." What did you see? I saw the covenant of "Elestü bi Rabbiküm." My Lord showed me. He showed our covenant. Exactly so, our Lord, in human form, in His true form, said, "I am your Lord." So these Allah-denying non-Muslims, in pride and arrogance, because they saw Allah who created them in human form, did not believe in Him. They waited for the Lord of their imagination. In this case, Allah Almighty: "They will not be able to see their Lord" — He makes this verse known. Heedless of this too, those who did a doctorate and are called scholars: in paradise and in hell Allah will be seen, (?) will not be seen — such explanations they give.

These people have done doctorates. Yes.

That's why I bear witness. I am a living witness. A living witness living in the world. In the covenant of Elestü bi Rabbiküm, those three kinds, the three things coming from one another — I am the one who saw them. Ve ashâbu'l-meymeneti mâ ashâbu'l-meymeneh — those on the right. Ve ashâbu'l-meş'emeti mâ ashâbu'l-meş'emeh — those on the left. Ve's-sâbikûne's-sâbikûn ulâike'l-mukarrabûn fî cennâti'n-naîm — the middle group He speaks of: the saints, the prophets, the martyrs, (?). Allah created the spirits in twilight. He scattered something of His light upon them. Whoever took from that light found their way.

Whoever could not take from that light lost their way. This twilight is like the twilight of evening. The one at the very front can be seen, the one at the very back can be seen too. When He said "I created you," Allah scattered something of His light. That light: "I created you." Whoever took from that light found their way. Whoever said yes found their way. Kalû. A verse says it anyway. The verse. Kalû. Yes. And whoever could not find it lost their way.

Yes. Those who have not seen these cannot open up these verses. That isn't possible anyway. Arabic is not enough to open this up. Yes.

Surah Ta-Ha, the 56th verse: "We showed him, that is, Pharaoh, all these proofs of Ours, yet he denied and persisted," He says, persisted.

Yes, a person persists up to a point. For example, let's say I perceived something wrongly; I take it to be right. And I like it very much. And Doğan says, "Hodja, that thing you see, it's wrong, it's not like that but like this." Come on, (?), how so? Go on, prove it to me. Now he proves it. The proof doesn't suit me. I say it's not like that. According to my own mind, I show another way. And this time he shows another way too. I see that it is right too. Again it doesn't suit me. I say that's not it either. I show another way. Well, Pharaoh is in the same situation. What does He say? "Truly We showed him, Pharaoh, all these proofs of Ours.

Yet he denied and persisted." He denied. That is, although he knew it was true, he belied Us and persisted in kufr, in his kufr.

Allah Almighty, through Moses (peace be upon him), showed Pharaoh all His proofs, and Pharaoh, although he understood that Allah exists and that he himself was created by Allah, and was convinced, nevertheless continued to deny Allah Almighty. The reason? Because he had declared himself a god, and people worshipped him. They took him for a god. Allah Almighty: "We swear by Our Self." Although Pharaoh knew that Allah Almighty exists, Pharaoh, a captive of his nafs and arrogance, himself a god, himself declared, the claim to godhood he himself had declared for himself — he did not give up, He decrees.

Here we've put in one thing too many. When there's a letter too many, it can't be read. Let's read this part again. "Pharaoh, as a captive of his nafs and arrogance, from the claim to godhood he had declared for himself did not give up," He decrees. Yes.

Yet Allah does not want to see any being as a partner to Himself. This is my word, the meaning of this verse: one of the greatest sins is associating partners with Allah. Yes. Because Allah is the One who created this universe, the ruler of His creations and the one with absolute power. Allah's creations, from Allah Almighty, and the ruler of His creations and the one with absolute power. If they associate Allah Almighty's creations as partners with Allah Almighty, they wrong Allah Almighty. In this case people sink both into a crisis and into swamps. Among the deficient and helpless created beings in need of Allah, Pharaoh, pursuing a claim to godhood, stubbornly resisting Allah Almighty, fell into shirk.

Shirk. Now, Allah Almighty has given every person a good mind. However much each person's mind takes the wrong for right, when the truths are explained, it understands that what it took to be right was wrong, and turns to the right. If Allah Almighty had not given the mind as one that knows the right, (?). In this case, although Allah Almighty created many miracles beyond human power — yes, instead of saying that this, an Owner who created the worlds creating these signs beyond human power, that is, creating miracles — that this can only come from the One who created the worlds, and submitting to Him, he goes and still, associating partners with Allah, in (?), tries to hold himself equal to Him.

Yes.

So these are not people of reason. Mindless people. Actually, they are clever. If they weren't clever, they wouldn't make people worship them; they couldn't. So their arrogance and pride, from seeing the truth and being in the right, have veiled them. Their arrogance and pride.
