“(What prevented you) that you did not come after me? Did you rebel against my order?”
Tafsir
Hadrat Musa 'alaihis-salâm' addressed Harun 'alaihis-salâm' and said, "Why did you not follow me when you saw that this people had fallen into madness? The meaning of "did not follow me" here is; Why did you not invite people to Allah, the One and Only? Or did you also disobey my command? He himself knew that Hadrat Harun 'alaihis-salâm' would not disobey him. Moses spoke in this way because he had learned the truth and because he was heartbroken that his people had fallen into this error.
What is said in the video
That you did not follow me: did you disobey my command? he says. That is, why did you not set out and follow me, and not let me know about this, Moses, that is. But Aaron gives a fine answer. What does he say? Moses (peace be upon him), addressing Aaron (peace be upon him): When you saw this people going astray, why did you not follow me? What "did you not follow me" means here is: why did you not call people to the One Allah? Or did you, too, go against my command, he said. He himself also knows that Aaron (peace be upon him) would not go against him. Moses (peace be upon him) speaking this way was about learning the truth, and about his anguish that his people had fallen into this error.
